Hi everyone! A big welcome to all of the new members who have joined! Thank you so much for choosing to be here. 🥰 I hope that your August is going really well so far! Mine has been mostly filled with reaction work of course, but I did spend this past weekend with family which was so lovely. I've also been reading consistently again! I finally finished Abaddon's Gate and started Cibola Burn (books 3 and 4 in The Expanse series). Season 4 is one of my faves of The Expanse show, so I am already loving the book so much - it just feels like getting deleted scenes. Let me know what you've been up to this summer!

Here are the reactions to expect during the next week or so:

For Movie Watchers: Airplane! (1980) - winner of the '80s Comedy poll, M:I4 Ghost Protocol (2011) to continue on Ethan Hunt's adventures, and the next MCU film in Phase 5 - Captain America: Brave New World (2025).

For TV Insiders: I'll share Episode 6 of Severance, and now that The Defenders is done, we are jumping into Season 1 of The Punisher later this week! And with this being a brand new show for me, the first episode will be available to everyone for free. The Punisher will run with two episodes every week until the end of Sept, when Ep 13 and Agents of SHIELD 5x01 will release that week.

📢 For Movie and TV tier members, click here to enter the September Member of the Month draw. You have until end of day on Sunday Aug 31 to enter.

For Early Birds: early access to the edits for Seven Samurai (1954) and Clerks III (2022), along with Season 5 Episodes 5 + 6 of Breaking Bad.

For YouTube Viewers: my reaction to There Will Be Blood (2007) went out on the channel this morning. Later this week, you'll see Seven Samurai (1954) and then Season 5 Episodes 5 + 6 of Breaking Bad.

Twitch Streams: I think streams will be fine this week! 18:00 MDT on Wednesday and Thursday!

📝 Reminders / If You're New:

Request a movie reaction through my Reactr page. - This is currently Sold Out and I'm only going to have room to take one more request for the rest of August, so definitely keep an eye out on this in the coming days.

Submit your movie and TV series suggestions for reactions.

Join the Discord server to chat daily with myself and others in the community. The server is open to everyone!

If you're a paid Patreon member, make sure to connect your Discord account to Patreon in order to get access to the Patreon space in my server.

For people who enjoy sending physical gifts, you can do so through my Throne page. This is what I use instead of providing my PO Box directly!

Visit my merch shop!

📢 FYI for Public + Free Members:

If you're only interested in select reactions and don't care to participate in any other benefit of my Patreon, my watchalongs can be obtained without a membership. You can visit my Shop tab or my Collections tab to directly purchase what you want. Make sure to check out one of my free watchalongs so you know how I format them, which is the sync-your-own-copy format.

TV series that I've recently started become available for purchase once I am near the end of the season/series. For any in-progress series that aren't actively being watched right now [Daredevil, Agents of SHIELD, etc.], the Collection can be purchased now and you'll receive access to all future reactions added to it. It's already priced with that in mind.

I understand that money can be tight so I am happy to offer the direct purchase option in addition to the memberships. I appreciate support in whichever way works best for you and I hope you enjoy the reactions. 🥰

Thanks so much for everything! Y'all are wonderful. 💚

Heck yeah, MI4, Cap, and Punisher! Banger week!

I love Cibola Burn so much. The focus on science is wonderfully done. Elvi Okoye is incredible even when she is being a goof! She REALLY loves the scientific process. (in general it's pretty incredible how characters are so different in the books/show and how both work and even improve each other in some ways)

I really loved her character in the show and can't wait to see what else I get in book version of her and compare the differences.

Looking forward to Ghost Protocol and Airplane! Since you posted the poll, the rebootquel Naked Gun (2025) came out, the original of which was by the same filmmakers as Airplane!, so I think spoof movies are having a moment again.

I've been watching a ton of clips of Liam and Pam interviews (not related to the movie though, just all the "fun" stuff). I'll get to The Naked Guns eventually.

For me, the real gem (although both Airplane! and the original Naked Gun are great, and the sequels are all at least somewhat amusing) is the spoof movie the team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker made between Airplane! and Naked Gun, which was Top Secret! (1984).

Gotta support this comment, because "banger" was exactly the word I wanted to describe this list.

I was always partial to Hot Shots and Loaded Weapon 1 as well

I'm looking forward to Ghost Protocol! 🧗‍♂️🏙️🗼👻

Also in the same vein would be the films by the director of the new Naked Gun, Akiva Schaffer, who is a member of The Lonely Island and directed or co-directed Hot Rod and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, as well as executive producing MacGruber, directed by fellow Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone.

I've been intrigued by The Expanse show for so long but the amount of episodes is intimidating. Seems to be a cult favorite. Severance might be a good one to post on YouTube eventually, business-wise because from what I've seen it's fans seem to be very loyal. Might earn you some Patrons and subscribers. Happy almost fall!

I'm changing my TV series strategy for the channel once Breaking Bad is all wrapped up next month, and Severance is on my list, but may not be edited and released until 2026. As for The Expanse, I can definitely understand long shows being intimidating, and The Expanse has a LOT of worldbuilding, so the first season has a lot of exposition throughout to get you familiar with the landscape, the people, etc. But man is that all worth it. Especially if political science-fiction set in space is something that you are already a big fan of from other media. The more I think about what my Top 3 shows are, the more I settle and am content with Mr. Robot, Dark, and The Expanse.

Airplane maybe a hit or miss with you. Excited for Frank's return. His series is definitely the most graphic so I guess prepare for that. But wouldn't except anything else from Frank.
