Giancarlo Esposito is finally in the MCU. He said there's room for more Sidewinder in the future. I would certainly hope so because I was expecting more from him. He said this is one of his most physical roles. He also kinda compared him to Gus Fring. After seeing Breaking Bad, it makes sense. As for Thaddeus Ross, he was originally portrayed by William Hurt. Unfortunately he passed away in 2022. Back he was still with us though, he was in talks about reprising his role while also becoming the Red Hulk. So even though he was recasted with Harrison Ford, this is a bit of a tribute to the late Mr. Hurt. Now that we have adamantium in the main timeline which is stronger than vibranium, it makes me wonder what it means for Wakanda. Last time we saw them, they weren't on good terms with the US. Maybe relations have improved since then, but adamantium begs the question: will the rivalry between the US and Wakanda finally simmer down, or will this compel Wakanda to make good on their alliance with Talokan and ask Namor for help? Time will tell. For now, the good news is that Thunderbolts will finally be streaming on Disney Plus next week. I wanna remind you that Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel) wrote her own Letterboxd review.

I tend to agree with Media Knights when they said that this story should have been a Hulk movie or at the very least a Cap/Hulk team-up. This being a Captain America solo film is a little odd. I did enjoy it for the most part, especially the fight with Cap and Red Hulk. I think though this should have been a Serpent Society story and the Red Hulk and The Leader should have been a separate Hulk story. It may not be my favorite Captain America movie but it is my favorite Sam Wilson Captain America movie ;) I actually like this one more than The First Avenger but no way could this come close to Winter Soldier or Civil War. Yeah William Hurt would have been awesome to see as Red Hulk but sadly he didn't live long enough to do it. RIP William I do hope we get to see Ruth and Sidewinder again down the road. But anyway, that's all for my thoughts, glad to watch along with you! Excited for you to get to Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four!

I did like this movie overall…had low expectations going in. Red Hulk was menacing. Sam was great as the new Cap. New Falcon is breath of fresh air. I’m way more excited for the next Marvel movie — Thunderbolts*! Top 10 MCU movie in my opinion.

I lost the thread of the MCU after End Game, to be honest—and the will to follow it. This was a first time watch for me, and it was fine. But, I can't really see the point of a non-super soldier serum'ed Captain America, or how a Red Hulk couldn't have just squished him into pâté—vibranium wings or not. Had it actually been a Hulk movie—as Nathan mentioned below—I might have felt more positive about it. However, the 2 highlights of the picture, for me, were when Adamantium is described as "more indestructible" than Vibranium—I hope that was deliberate. And the fact that Ford's character was called Ross and when he gets angry he turns red... like Red Ross in that Friends episode. These two things made me laugh out loud, so it wasn't a complete wash.

Love Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and as the new Captain America. And this movie was so fucking...okay. It was just okay. I didn't hate it. Didn't love it. Found the chemistry between Mackie and his Falcon-wannabe-downgrade very wanting; and a little annoying. The action was all right. It'll be a while before I watch this one again. Ah, well. Honestly, Anthony Mackie's Captain America deserved much better than this; but, hey...they can't all be winners, I guess. The next movie in line--The Thunderbolts--is one of my favorites in all of the MCU. And I loved Fantastic Four: First Steps as well--feels like a return to form to me.

Got a chance to sit down and watch this movie finally. I enjoyed the fact that they finally brought back things from the incredible hulk movie that were left open. If you think about it the last phase brought back The abomination and introduced She hulk and Hulk's son so the hulk storyline of the MCU has been expanding and based on some rumors this thread will continue. I really wish banner was in this movie. Even if it was the end credit scene with banner and Betty reuniting after years. Loved the reaction and your thoughts.
