Thank you so much for all of your input on the Suggestion post! I'm sorry that I didn't make it clearer that you could comment more than one movie, I just wanted them split into separate comments as it was easier to read/transfer when making this poll today. 😊

Since there were so many suggestions, I threw most of them into Wheel of Names to randomly pick (I excluded ones that I've seen along with first movies in series). But I also wanted four different sports categories to be represented in this poll, so I kept spinning until I had that.

This poll will end on Sunday at end of day. Happy Voting!

Some good movies on this list but I hope Warrior wins. It’s on a whole different level…like top 10 film all time level.

nouvelle_vague

No bad choices here. I'm voting for my suggestion (and happy to see it make the poll), but I was thinking a Slap Shot reaction could be amazing. I hope you keep it mind if it doesn't win here.

Christopher simeon

I dislike sports movies personally. Longest Yard is the last one I watched and that was pretty good.

Chris Thom

Jerry Maguire is very good. A classic maybe, even. But it's more sports-adjacent than an actual sports movie. More of a romance and drama and comedy.

Aldo Gonzales

Bummer that Karate Kid didn’t make it. Oh well.

Patrick

Guess I'm just burnt out on people suggesting the same movies that have dozens of reactions already. I understand reactors all reacting to same movies to get the most views, but I also realize I'm probably in the minority with this opinion 😂 lol.

Nathan Jasper

I agree, field of dreams everybody does LOL but it is a fantastic film so I kind of just go with it cuz at the end of the day we don't have to watch the reaction, even though probably will end up doing so anyway 😜

Patrick

Yeah I'm still years of reactions away from movies I love falling into the popularity of the polls 😂 lol

Joe

That one would be first in a series. But it would be a fun reaction.

Tyler Foster

I don't get tired of seeing the same movies like Patrick says below, but as with many polls, there's generally a movie where I think, "well, you should just watch that one and then poll others so that the poll is more competitive," and Field of Dreams was definitely that movie here. Wish For Love of the Game got as much love as FoD! That's an underrated masterpiece in my book.

Sam

With no Raging Bull (one of the greatest films ever made) to vote for, it’s got to be Jerry Maguire—because it has the best outtake of Dylan’s Shelter from the Storm ever recorded playing over the end credits. Still one of my favorite songs, and still my favorite version of it... the film’s not bad either. :)

Nestor Custodio

It's so funny thinking of Jerry Maguire as a sports movie. I kinda want it to win just to see Kaiielle look confused about it. 😅

M.C. Hale

I was trying to decide between three hockey movies to suggest (Slap Shot / Miracle / Goon), and of course didn't decide in time to submit. At least it's an easy voting decision!

Tyler Foster

I still think that even if it is a romance and a drama and a comedy, it is still about sports, and sports is a major part of the film. Is Rocky not also a drama and a romance that is also about sports?

I understand your frustrations. It is out of my control which reactions viewers choose to watch when they're not watching me, or what other reaction channels decide to release. I don't think many people care about how many other channels have watched a certain movie before me, because I would hope that the point of my channel and this Patreon is that people want to see *my* reactions and how I feel and what I think. Thus there will always be "the same movies" suggested because they just have such a large fanbase! That said, I have always tried to provide a balance of popular vs. not-as-popular movies and that continues to be important to me. The two avenues where people can get their favourite movies reacted to when those movies don't fall in the popularity category are my Member of the Month draws and my Reactr page - both of which aren't going away any time soon. 😊

Movies with KL

Haha I'm aware that it's more of a dramedy than an actual sports movie, but to be fair the sports genre is attached to it on IMDB and Google.

I actually had Karate Kid in the Wheel (forgetting it's technically first in a series), but it just didn't get drawn!

Patrick

I hope u didn't misinterpret my comment as a complaint about u or ur channel. Obviously we're all here for UR reactions, I was just releasing my frustrations out loud about the redundancy in the "reactoverse" 🥴😂 I have used ur reactr option and definitely appreciate it. Hopefully can afford to use it again in the near future 👍

Chris Thom

Definitely depends on the movie. There are some I never get tired of, for whatever reason.

WastedPo

I love Field of Dreams. I actually think a valid argument can be made that it's not really a "sports movie," (sort of like Jerry Maguire, which I also love). But I won't go into it until after a potential reaction.

Santiago Rios

Warrior… man. Definitely a criminally underrated movie. So damn good!

Chris Thom

Vaguely remember a Hockey movie with Stiffler in it. Thinking that might be Goon.

Chris Thom

I think of a traditional sports movie as having a lead character that is either a coach or player. With the climax of the story happening on the field of play. But yeah I guess it arguably belongs in the sports category. Though I think at a video store it usually would've been in the Romance section.

Chris Thom

I haven't seen that yet. Always wondered why Dana White didn't like it...?

Chris Thom

Classic movie. Pretty unique.

M.C. Hale

Yup, that's the one! Not usually crazy about him or Jay Baruchel, but it works and somehow that movie is miles better than it has any right to be!

nouvelle_vague

I definitely hear what you're saying Patrick. I don't follow that many reactors and it felt like all of them dropped a reaction to Weapons on the same day a week ago... There are so many films there were either critically acclaimed or were big successes at the box office that seem totally lost to the mists of time and no one seems to have ever reacted to. And yet there are other niche films that are fine in their own right, but largely nothing special that it seems like everyone reacts to. I do respect that kaiielle does a lot of reactions to movies that are kind of out of left field (and the reactor requests are part of the reason why, so good job community!), but there is a lot of homogeneity amongst reactors. For whatever reason. Having said all of that, I’m here because I am curious about kaiielle’s take on a film and I don’t care if everyone has done Field of Dreams or Rocky, I still want to watch her watching those. I think it’ll be interesting. Also, possibly a controversial opinion, but I think Rocky is still somehow under-rated and yet several of the other films in the series are really fun, but not particularly good, and it would be totally reasonable to just watch the first one and skip the rest.

Patrick

Yeah Nouvelle, art is definitely subjective. I love many of the films that the masses put into recommendations for polls. I was just venting publicly about my disappointment lol 🤣 It's cathartic to get it out sometimes lol

Tyler Foster

I wish more people did Reactr or some other mode of requests, and spin wheels, and just picking movies for themselves. I think if all of the channels did that instead of many of them being beholden strictly to polls, there would be a little bit of additional variety. You would still get stuff like the Weapons/Sinners scenarios where a movie is buzzy and popular and everyone wants to join a contemporary cultural conversation, as well as watch something that might get more views because it's the movie du jour, but these other things help diversify beyond polls alone, which always have plain old "amount of viewership" as a major factor when it comes to ruling out anything that isn't considered a pop culture staple.

Tyler Foster

Haha, on one hand, "climax of the story happening during the sporting event" makes sense, but on the other hand, I don't think any of the video stores in my area even had a "sports" section. They'd have probably all been in "drama."

John Burns

Slap shot was Paul Newman’s favourite movie to make.
