Definitely the most interesting re-telling of a classic that I've seen so far. 😅 Enjoy the reaction! Thanks for watching. 🥰

I have mixed feelings about this one. There's a lot that I love and there's a lot that I don't like at the same time. But Bill Murray makes it worth it regardless

The actor who played Eliot, Bobcat Goldthwait, is indeed a voice-actor (and a director, and a stand-up comedian). Most notably, he played Pain in Disney's Hercules. Karen Allen, who played Claire, has key roles in a couple of other notable movies, and a starring role in a *really* notable movie, and it will be interesting to see you get to that eventually. Carol Kane as well -- something I honestly assumed you had seen but looked up on Letterboxd before posting! Somewhat famously, Bill Murray did not enjoy making this movie. He agreed to do Ghostbusters in part because in exchange, Columbia agreed to finance a dramatic passion project of his, The Razor's Edge. When that movie bombed, and Ghostbusters became a big hit, instead of capitalizing on his newfound fame, Murray went to Europe for a few years. He was lured back by the script for Scrooged, initially written by his friend Mitch Glazer. The movie is pretty dark as is, but the original script was apparently darker. When Richard Donner (Superman, Lethal Weapon) came on board to direct, he changed the script to be lighter, and Murray was unhappy throughout production, believing it was no longer the movie he wanted to make. It's interesting because you can sort of tell, but also, that irritation just fits with his character, so it doesn't matter. The name of the cycle you describe involving time and money invested is the "sunk-cost fallacy."
