Hi everyone! 👋🏻 I hope your 2026 is off to a fabulous start!

This week for movies, I'll be sharing reactions to Rashomon (1950) [KL's Choice], Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) [Movie Series], and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest (2009) [Viewer's Choice, and closing out the Millennium Trilogy].

For TV, I'll be continuing through Season 5 of Stranger Things [Episode 6], Season 2 of Fallout [Episode 4], and we'll be starting Season 2 of Jessica Jones [Episodes 1 and 2].

📢 A reminder to Movie Watchers and TV Insiders members to enter my Member of the Month draw that will happen on Friday, Feb 6. You have until the day before that to enter.

I know that I said last week that I'd have a 2026 calendar in my merch shop soon, but truth be told... I just can't nail a design and style that I like this year. 😭 I didn't just want to do a repeat of last year's calendar. I'm so sorry about that. However, I would like to refresh merch in general later this year, so when I feel that desire to design come back then I'll get to work on it.

Outside of reaction work, I've been very intentionally taking things pretty easy and being mindful of how I'm spending my time and energy. I've decided to live my life this year with this mantra: Use what you have and replace only what you need. I'm feeling quite motivated about this. I'll be happy to talk more about this when I do my next live stream! I'm not sure when that will be yet, but I'll keep you posted. 😊

Have the most wonderful week! Thank you so much for being here on my Patreon. ❤️

Oooo, never heard of Rashomon! Looks like I got a fresh "new" film to check out this week!

Did you ever watch my reaction to Seven Samurai? That was my first Kurosawa and I knew that I wanted to watch more of his work. May as well start the new year with one!

Great mantra. Looking forward to Terminator 3 and the return of Jessica. I haven't watched season 2 since it aired so it is kind of a blur for me. I remember some events but not really the overall story so it will be a fun rewatch.

Still doesn't feel like it should be January yet 😂

Even though it's not *my* week, it's a good week for me. Looking forward to finishing the Millennium Trilogy (first watch of these for me), Rashomon (also a first-time watch), and T3!

Rashomon's central hook/concept is very famous. Obviously, not going to explain what it is before KL or you have seen the movie, but once the movie is going, you'll realize how many stories have drawn from, reused, reinterpreted, and remade this concept -- to the point where "Rashomon effect" has its own separate Wikipedia entry.

Dang, two first-time watches in one week! That's great!

I did not see Seven Samurai yet, KL, but it is on my watchlist for this year. 😊

Nathan Jasper

Heck yeah, great lineup to kick off January! Officially Kinda

Was The Girl That Kicked the Hornet's Nest based on one of the books from that Millennium Trilogy, or whatever it was called? Staag something was the author, I think? One of the Swedish movies?
