I'm pretty excited for the week ahead! For movies, I'll be sharing reactions to This is Spinal Tap (1984) [KL's Choice], Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) [Movie Series], and Inherent Vice (2014) [Viewer's Choice].

I wasn't planning on watching another Rob Reiner movie so soon after The Princess Bride, but I saw the movie poster and I recognize metal band font and 80s metal hair anywhere! So I'd love to check that one out. For the series slot, I was thinking about how after four years of reacting, it's probably time for me to watch the Indiana Jones movies. I'll likely release these in an every-other-week rotation and I'm looking forward to them! Inherent Vice is a Reactr request from Tyler Foster, thank you so much! This is another Paul Thomas Anderson movie.

It's the same old same old for TV right now. Continuing through Season 5 of Stranger Things [Episode 7: The Bridge], Season 2 of Fallout [Episode 5: The Wrangler], and Season 2 of Jessica Jones [Episode 3: A.K.A. Sole Survivor and Episode 4: A.K.A. God Help the Hobo].

📢 A reminder to Movie Watchers and TV Insiders members to enter my Member of the Month draw that will happen on Friday, Feb 6. You have until the day before that to enter.

I'll leave you with a couple pics of Soka on the reaction couch. 🐶

Have a wonderful week, everyone! Thank you for being here.

Raiders!!!!! (I liked Inherent Vice.)

AndreaMGC

Omfg Soka is STUNNING!!! What a beauty 😭

Bradley Bradley

Looks like some pretty good stuff coming up! I'm especially excited for Raiders, one of my Top 10 of all time! (And I have to admit I'm still anxiously checking these "coming soon" updates for the YouTube edits of Transformers One and V for Vendetta. I bet that both of those will net you a ton of views.) 🙂

Spinal Tap is easily one of those movies where I could go years not watching (which I currently have) and still remember every banger-line of comedy. This is basically a Rob Reiner's version of Monty Python.

Vincent Hollow

In regards to the Indy films, will you be watching all 5 (?) or will it be just the original trilogy (Raiders, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade).

She really is! I *constantly* get comments about her colouring (especially since she's got a super dark patch of very dark brown that goes down her back - it's very visible in the direct sunlight), her coat (she's always extremely shiny, people literally think I give her crazy supplements or use products on her and I'm just like heh, nope!), and her EYES. I love her eyes so much, they are so bright they're almost orange. Such a beautiful bright brown.

AndreaMGC

Honestly! Her eyes are what caught my attention. I’ve never seen eyes like hers before. And you can just see the intelligence in them. How old is she? Do you know her breed? I shared her picture with my family and there was a lot of gushing haha!

I appreciate your patience. The YouTube side of this has become a massive pile of overwhelm, if I'm being honest, but it's my own fault. Since September, I was having reactions edited at a faster pace than I could reasonably keep up with, because I still had to do the copyright work, re-edits, and final video preparations, and in some cases I actually sent edits back to my editor to be re-done. I had many reactions in the last few months with a higher priority (Halloween, Band of Brothers, Christmas watches, Rob Reiner passing reaction), so some reactions not in those categories have been sitting on the backburner. I finally realized that continuously adding to this pile without making a reasonable dent in it has not been efficient. So I recently stopped working with one of my editors and I am significantly slowing down on how many new edits I'm having done, so that I can finally get caught up. Truth be told, I really wish I could put a pause on recording for like two whole weeks, to just focus on YouTube videos. Unfortunately, the nature of how this all works would make it really difficult for me to do that. But I have faith that I will get there! I'm sorry that certain reactions have taken so long.

Great question. The trilogy will be watched pretty back-to-back, no question. With the other two, I don't know if there will be as much urgency with them. They are likely to go the way of some of the other series that I've done where they'll show up in a Movie Series slot at some point in the future.

When she was found in May 2024, she was estimated to be 9 months old at the time. I adopted her in August (3 months later), so I decided to make her Gotcha Day her 1st Birthday. So she's about 2.5 years old. Yes, I had her DNA analyzed shortly after I got her. 77% of her is pitbull breeds: - 38% American Staffordshire Terrier - imo, this is where her face comes from - 23% Staffordshire Bull Terrier and 16% American Pit Bull Terrier - to me, this is where her body comes from. Soka has an extremely muscular and *lean* body. She has a very big chest area and super skinny hips and you can visibly see her muscles when she's playing tug or being rough. 😂 She has such a different build compared to my last dog, who was basically all pit and she was very short and stocky/thick. Soka is a very athletic looking dog. The other 23% of her is Rottweiler and I'm pretty convinced that this is where all of her colour comes from. As for her eyes, there are clearly some recessive genetics passed down from her parents that cause the insanely bright amber eyes, without her being light in her coat. I love how wonky genetics can be and am grateful because I couldn't imagine her with any other eye colour. They give her so much personality.

Tyler Foster

Excited for Spinal Tap and Inherent Vice, and I like Raiders. Will be interesting to see your reaction to IV, I hope you like it -- it's very twisty and could be confusing, but try not to worry and just let it wash over you. (I'm sure I said something to this effect in my note, too.)

Bradley Bradley

No worries at all, KL!  I've also seen several other reactors mention lately that the copyright overlords have been cracking down harder on them, so I'm sure that's something that you have had to deal with as well. In any case, don't stress about those particular movies on my account. They'll appear when the time is right. In the meantime, keep up the awesome work! You've been rockin' it lately. 🙂

Chris Thom

I'd have to see Inherent Vice again to remotely understand it. Was so confused about it the first time around. Definitely a VERY unique one with it's own rhythm and cadence. Probably PTA's strangest film...and that's saying something.

Tyler Foster

I think this is one of those movies where it's natural for the viewer to find the film more confusing than it is on the first go. In my view, it's a significant but still normal amount of complexity for a film like this (mainly: keeping track of a lot of characters and their relationship to one another), but the fact that it's also delivered in period lingo by a bunch of characters who are stoned and paranoid, and whose trail through the breadcrumbs is not the most logical or cleanest path from Point A to Point B makes it seem more confusing than it is. (Which is intentional.)

Nathan Jasper

I might have missed this being talked about somewhere; was curious if you're still twitch streaming (Twitching?) or if you're moving away from that?

Chris Thom

Yes exactly. I was so lost. Lol. But I've only seen it once and I wasn't paying close attention, so ready to give it another go.
