Boy oh boy, the finale! I am thinking that maybe I should have waited and recorded this review after I had a day to digest this final episode of the show because there is so much to talk about. I know I didn't cover nearly all of my thoughts in this review, despite talking for half an hour. 😅

But we can definitely chat more in the comments! There are a lot of details in this finale to cover and discuss. There were a lot of good things in this episode (and season overall) to enjoy and love. I still feel that this was my least favourite season of the whole show, even though I enjoyed it. There are some flaws with it that I don't really care for, especially when comparing to the structure and vibe in the earlier seasons.

I'm excited to go catch up on interview videos and articles that released before/during the release of this season. I'm really eager to hear what the actors have to say about this last season and the finale.

IMO one of the best series finales in a long time, at least since Breaking Bad, definitely top 5 of the last couple decades.

Sorry! 🤷🏻‍♀️ My Top 5 series finales of the last two decades (as of right now) has Mr. Robot, both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and Dark. The last spot is reserved for either The Bad Batch or The Clone Wars, but it's really hard to pick between those two.

At least we got an ending, and one that covers pretty much everything. That's a positive. And I can't say it was bad, it was OK in a lot of ways. But I can't say it was good either at least for me. The season started off decent enough, but personally I think it has issues that start to build and get worse as it goes on. It feels massively rushed, like there was supposed to be at least one more season maybe two. The twist is a reversal of the twist that made it interesting and different when Vecna was revealed as the person behind it all, back into what was the obvious bad guy of the mind flayer. The only way to make the flayer being the big bad interesting at least a bit is to find out about it - and we get nothing about it, the other world, its powes, the history, anything at all. That twist was revealed in a stage show before the series came out, only available to a small number of people, just to make it worse. The actual interesting twist that there is another world is basically not used other than he hides there, an entire other world of possible storytelling and we get nothing on that or the real bad guy. Elevens sister is brought back for what appears to he the sole reason of making a "you decide" ending for her. And compared to the other seasons I just felt little during the final fight that had the bad guy mostly seem to just look confused then die easily after all his power ups. There is a lot of good in there scattered about. But I cant get past the issues, and that's rare for me.
