Christopher Reeve is such a sweetie and the pairing with Jane Seymour was lovely. I could not have predicted how this would end, though. 😅 Thank you to Brad for requesting this on my Reactr page! Enjoy the reaction and I'm looking forward to your comments. 🥰

Christopher Smith

My mom's favorite film. Probably also why I saw Superman in the theater as a kid.

Thanks to Brad for this one! It's one of my fav love stories. The score is also haunting. Once you know the back story of the composer, the longing/vibe of it gets more context. For me, if i'm not prepared, this movie and score doesn't take much to make me cry, just like when I hear Clapton's Tears of Heaven. I don't really like to suggest another creator but this movie is special to me and this creator has kinda fallen out of consistent productions. Oliver Harper does a great Retrospective on this movie and it gives a lot of great info over its 12 minute Youtube vid on the whole production (not to mention I think he is a Chris Reeves stan). If you have a sec and want to learn more, check it out. Ollie is a great guy.

I do not mind chats/recommendations about other creators/reactors, that's fine! I'll have to check out that video. Thanks for sharing!

Whenever time travel is involved.. it seems a certain amount of ‘suspension of disbelief is required here.. the ending in my opinion is rather weak.. he dies almost as soon as he meets her.. and she goes through decades of loneliness.. my solution in a bit.. First of all.. I think this is a great excuse to get two hot actors dressed in period wardrobe and on period sets exchanging witty and slightly sexual dialogue.. wonderful! Then there’s the unsung hero beyond the character of ‘Auther’ and that is the real life Grad Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan. This story comes from a book called ‘Bid Time Return’ which is set on the equally grand Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island, across the bay from San Diego. Now for my proposed ‘fix’.. You know how they say you can’t die in your own dream? I propose, as he’s floating above himself on the verge of death.. we see the two together as young people and then cut to his head resting on her lap.. he awakens to find himself with her in modern Chicago.. Who cares how they actually met.. the movie is the dream.. and now they get to live full lives together in modern Chicago.

My friend Mark and his wife went to this hotel and took some incredible photos.

Another great Christopher Reeves movie is Noises Off. I have also seen Noises Off on Broadway. Fun comedy
