Let's have a good start to March, shall we? 😎

Monday: Watching Casablanca (1942) for my KL Pick this week.

Tuesday: Continuing Season 2 of Luke Cage with Episode 3: Wig Out and Episode 4: I Get Physical.

Wednesday: I said last year that I would start 2026 with the first two Evil Dead movies and then kinda sorta maybe forgot to keep scheduling that. 🫣 So I'm sharing The Evil Dead (1981) this week and the second will come next week!

Thursday: Continuing Pluribus with Episode 2: Pirate Lady.

Friday: Sharing the Film Noir Poll Winner: The Maltese Falcon (1941).

The chocolate walnut banana bread that I said in last week's schedule that I was going to bake later that day turned out fab, by the way. I've definitely been enjoying a slice every morning with my coffee. 🥰

If you live in an area of the continent that is very cold right now, please stay warm. And if you live somewhere that is getting very high temperatures, please stay cool. (I'm shocked, but also not shocked, at how warm some places are already.

Definitely wonder what you'll make of The Evil Dead. Main thing I'll say is, whatever you think of any of the three movies in the trilogy, don't let that affect whether or not you watch the others, as they're all at least a little different (even when they're also largely the same). Really excited for Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon!

So excited for The Evil Dead! The first Evil Dead is like the Clerks of 80's horror; super low budget, but they were able to do so much with what they had. It's also the first film from director, Sam Raimi, who gave us the original Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire. In fact his friend, Bruce Campbell, who plays the lead in Evil Dead, plays cameos in all three Spidey films! If you end up enjoying the movies, there is also the show, Ash vs. Evil Dead that came out in 2015.

Because I always toast my slices of any kind of non-yeast type bread, like your chocolate walnut banana bread, i always slightly under bake it. Because when I toast it, that few minutes it is toasting it actually kind of warms the center and I get a nice moist cake. A lesson I learned from a pastry chef I worked with. Maybe under-bake by 5 minutes and rest for at least 4 hours eating. It looks yummy.

This is an incredible lineup this week. Super excited. Since I'm new here, not sure if The Queen's Gambit (Netflix) 7 episode mini-series has made it on a poll? On your radar?

It's on my radar! I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Once I'm through with my Marvel TV journey later this year, then I'll be able to check out some more mini-series alongside some longer series.

That's a very good week. Pretty sure Casablanca has been my pick of the month hope before, so it's kind of like I won twice this month. Can't wait for that reaction.

I love the OG Spider-Man trilogy (pretty sure those and the 2005 Fantastic Four were the only comic movies that I watched prior to starting the reaction channel LOL), so I'm always up for anything Sam Raimi.

Other Raimi movies I recommend: Darkman (1990), The Quick and the Dead (1995), For Love of the Game (1999), The Gift (2000), and Drag Me to Hell (2009). I've also heard nothing but good things about his brand new film Send Help (2026).
