I was wondering when the title of this episode would make sense and I love that it was basically taken from one quick story. 😅 This episode gave us a lot more insight into Ted and I loved it for that. Looking forward to your thoughts down below! Thanks so much for watching. 🥰

The show hooked me right from the start, especially in the final scene of episode 1, on the phone with his family, when we realize that even this bright sunshine of jokes and quips and positivity had issues. I was super interested to learn more about him. Him letting Michelle go broke my heart because you can tell how much he loves her and Henry. As for Roy and Keeley, yeah. That's a valid ship lmao

It's a little more poignant when you realize that Jason Sudeikis was actually going through a breakup when he wrote and started this show.

999 being the emergency number in the UK (and Ireland IIRC) comes from the days of rotary phones - as 9 was the last number on the dial, it's the easiest number to dial in difficult circumstances (e.g. in the dark). 112, the European emergency number, is also accepted but isn't really in the public consciousness - 999 is the de facto standard. It's becoming less important though as mobile phones (definitely smartphones, but AFAIK all mobiles) will route all the common worldwide emergency numbers automatically, so it doesn't matter which one you dial.
