May we all strive to empathize and forgive like Ted does. 🥹

PS. You can see that I didn't watch the credits. Don't worry, I ended up watching them when I was looking for thumbnail images. I love what Roy does at the very end of the credits. 🥹

RIP to Anthony Stewart Head (who plays Rupert, Rebecca's ex-husband on the show). He died yesterday, aged 72. He indeed plays a "fuckin' dick" on this show, but he was a lovely man in real-life. I've been a fan of his since the early '00s, when I first watched Buffy. Great reaction to an excellent episode! I liked how you linked Rebecca's struggle with Roy's, them both struggling with their identity. Never thought of it like that. Looking forward to the season finale!

Not to over shadow the loss with what I am about to type so ill say, you are right, and until you said it I didn't know. I remember him in Buffy too... also wanna say it takes talent to play a villain role I think. I didn't know the man personally but having the chance I would've ask him if he thinks it helps make them aware of their humanity and actually if playing an evil role makes them a better person or strive to be one... Also might affect/effect s4 ted lasso if it gets its day...or maybe it is a funeral episode. Dunno how that rewrite will go tbh. Minefield tbh...but rip

I love how impossibly beautiful Ted's soul is. To be able to say "Divorce is hard" and forgive her is not only having excellent situational awareness and empathy but also having enough respect for Rebecca and his job to want to move forward rather than expose her to the press or be nasty about it in general. He's truly one in a billion.

Higgins's line in episode 8, " you won't take away your pain by constantly punishing Rupert," came to fruition in this episode. Rebecca finally realized that she could never stoop low enough to beat Rupert into submission. She is a genuinely good person. Rupert is not.
