Another very well done episode. It's hard watching Matt fight someone like this who really puts him up for a challenge. 😩 I'm really excited for what's next. Looking forward to your thoughts!

Dex is obviously a villain, and yes, he is very much from the comics, and honestly, the way they integrated him into the whole Fisk and Matt storyline was so brilliant. They did change a few things about him from his comic book version, but I think his backstory and his tendencies in this season fit him perfectly. One thing I really love about this season is that, just like in Episode 5, Matt can take a backseat for the entire episode, and it still never feels slow or dragged out. That's really a credit to how well-written the rest of the characters are.. even newer characters like Nadeem and Dex are very much interesting enough to keep you fully invested when the focus shifts away from Matt.

This episode really highlights that dex is not just some crazy FBI Agent. He has enhanced skills similar to Daredevil. His precision is unnaturally strong. He is even better than Hawkeye. The way Fisk can manipulate his way into dex's life has to be applauded. I love this season and how much it focuses on how connections to others really keeps people grounded. Dex is similar to matt because they both need others to keep them steady but Dex just has the wrong person doing it.

Ah yes, the attack on the Bulletin by 'Daredevil' - another very memorable moment from S3. It's a strong play from Fisk to take out the evidence of him orchestrating his release and discredit/frame Daredevil at the same time - very chess-mastery, as we've seen from him before. One thing I'm not sure of is if he's put together that Matt is Daredevil - he's clearly going after both halves of Matt's life, but it seems like that's a coincidental result of targetting multiple 'threats'. The fight between Matt and Dex is very intense, though it does seem a little more one-sided than might be expected - I guess that the Daredevil armour should push it that way, and Dex can attack at a distance whereas Matt needs to be up close, but it still feels like Dex has more of an advantage than he should against Matt, given that we've repeatedly been shown/told that Matt is supposed to be one of the best fighters in the world. Two things in particular bother me: firstly, I can accept that Dex has perfect aim, but he still needs to see - he can't 'detect' where someone is like Matt - so the Daredevil suit should be a handicap to some degree, especially for ricochets. Secondly, we've seen Matt do the 'hit someone with bounced thrown object' trick before several times - it's even in the very first fight we see in 1x01 - but it seems like they forgot Matt could do that. Maybe they didn't want two people bouncing things?
