Gosh, ​I love that canonnso much! That it's forbidden to touch someone's hair without permission among the nobles in the Fire Nation...!! Was that an original Fire Nation rule? I knew that for Zuko and Azula, their topknots were an important symbol of honor, but I didn't know that touching someone's hair was a measure of their relationship... I especially love how Rangi rubbed her head against Kyoshi's chest and lips like a cat showing affection during thebSouth Pole night. She was always showing Kyoshi her affection constantly🥹🥹

​Kyoshi's reaction when she was finally told not to touch Rangi's hair and face in the Fire Nation palace was so cute😭. She'd always let Kyoshi touch them, so when she was kind of whining like, "Why~~~?" Was so damn precious moment. It was so great to see her as a girl her age, free from her duties and responsibilities as Avatar Kyoshi in the previous scene. By the way, Jerkzhu Mcjerkface😂😂😂 I love that nickname so much.

100% agree! They’re both beautifully written, and his characters jump off the page. Even if he doesn’t return to our beloved Kyoshi and Rangi, I’d love to see him bring more of the Avatar universe to light! The Yangchen books were great too! (Though I’m more partial to Kyoshi’s story of course)

I’d say it was an original rule for sure, just from how significant hair is to the fire nation nobles. I love how in the show Zuko, Azula’s and even Iroh’s hair was a complete symbolism of their character arcs. I could literally yap about this all day😂 Omg I absolutely loveddd when Rangi rubbed her head against her😭 I feel as though the noble women from the fire nation all have that black cat energy so I thought it was very fitting when Rangi did that
