As I read the book I always believed that moment Kyoshi realised how much she meant to her and pictured the look of horror in the avatar face when Rangi got punched on purpose. 😢

The redraw of this scene adds dramatic effect + 10 and displays the act of desperation on Rangi’s part, as intended. Even though she maintains a relatively stoic appearance, you can feel a bit of that Rangi Rage shimmering underneath. “I’ll show you how it feels…” Rangi’s “gayze” of sheer defiance got Kyoshi cranking the gay panic knob to MAX, and snapping it off. I’ll always love this scene because it’s so…Rangi. It illustrates her character in many ways, just in one scene. -Her physical strength and resolve -Her stubbornness -Her…creative and effective way of finding a solution to achieve her goals (Multiple here! She’s efficient!) -Absolute badass -Undeniably gay

Yes, Rangi won. She maintained the upper hand throughout the entire fight, but she intentionally took a hit in the middle just to give Kyoshi a taste of how it feels to watch someone constantly and recklessly expose themselves to danger. The problem was that her opponent was a man nearly three times her size, which it nearly costed her her life. She really is one crazy lesbian💀

At first, I didn’t even realize what was happening😂 I had to re-read it several times to figure out what the hell was going on with Rangi. Imagine what Kyoshi must have felt...💀even though Rangi’s intention was to give Kyoshi a taste of her own medicine but still💀💀

There’s a lot of gay chaos happening so I can’t explain everything in detail, but this is the scene right before Rangi (the black-haired one) intentionally takes a hit to teach Kyoshi (the brown-haired one) a lesson. By the way, Rangi is a lesbian and Kyoshi is bi—and they are an canon couple!

Back then, Kyoshi was always so soft and gentle around Rangi, but in that moment, she actually felt like punching her😂 I 2 believe this was the exact moment Kyoshi fully realized her true feelings for Rangi.

In the book, Rangi actually moves with such agility and cleverly targets vital points to overcome the size difference, but I summarized it into a head-on fight to make this short comic more dramatic🫡 I truly love bringing these book scenes to life, and I’m so grateful to have a community that enjoys them with me❤️❤️

Watching a guy three times her size nearly kill the previous opponent, then deciding to just walk in and take a hit on purpose—just to teach Kyoshi a lesson? It’s unbelievable💀💀 She’s such an insane baby lesbian. No wonder Hei-Ran had such a tough time raising her😂 Just as you analyzed, that’s exactly why I love Rangi, but honestly, in this moment, I’m completely with Kyoshi...Seeing her act like that and then give that fake, smug smile? I would’ve felt the exact same urge to hit her.
