I just love seeing Kyoshi's glorious hands. The one in the first panel cupping nearly the entirety of the back of Rangi's head with her thumb holding the topknot and then sliding the hairpin out in the second is such a lovely detail. Knowing what the topknot represents and how important it is to Rangi, ONLY Kyoshi could EVER be allowed to do anything like that.🙂‍↕️❤️ And the rose!!😍🥰

Rangi serves her Avatar very enthusiastically. Removing Rangi’s hairpin like removing the thorns from a rose so she can have better access to her…petals…without getting pricked. Your art is always so delicious because of the way you so thoughtfully select your ingredients. Small details like the glint in Rangi’s half lidded eyes, cutting away to the rose being put in a vase shows how much the gesture was appreciated, and the way Kyoshi cups her hand around her topknot and her face…the way it’s drawn conveys to the viewer the precise amount of pressure being applied. If that makes any sense. I always find the intimacy and explicitness very well balanced in your work.❤️

Exactly🔥🔥 I've always wanted to see Kyoshi untie Rangi's topknot. Topknots in the FN culture have such a sexy concept behind them, where only family members or married partners can ever touch them. Outside of Rangi herself, Kyoshi is the only one who gets to touch her hair🥹💚❤️💚❤️

Thanks Eclipses! I can safely say these two are some of the most beautifully complex characters in all of media, let alone the Avatar universe. Kyoshi was already amazing in the atla show, but F.C. Yee worked his magic and brought her to another level entirely. A warrior so powerful being completely helpless for just one woman, who in turn is insanely devoted to her... This feels like a miracle !!! I was so absorbed by their daytime interactions that I almost forgot how intense the night would turn out. And that flower Rangi pulled out just like magic —— I’ve always imagined it’s a native bloom from her hometown. Marceline, you’re practically a court painter—these gorgeous scenes belong on murals.
