Hi everyone,

Welcome to a new month, and even more maps!

Really excited to share with you the MoTM, and the Variants! (links have been sent to you, and the maps are in the VTT vault too)

Now, this particular map came about because a Patron (Cat Girl Gamer) asked if we had a cliff-side temple for a particular scenario they were running. I asked them to email me with a description, and even though we didn't have something, I was very inspired and decided to make it!

So, the MotM is the Temple of the Sailor, a temple dedicated to gods of the sea and sailing, carved out of a large column of rock, with a treacherous path winding up the outside

I had intended this to be The Third Map, but when I saw it, I felt really inspired for other variants, so I decided to make it the MotM and make a bunch of variants. So, we have a Celestial Gate (with inactive version), an Infernal Abyss, and an Underdark Pit (with and without spider webs)

I'm really pleased with these, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a use for them in your games!

ALT VERSION

I feel like I've just scratched the surface with the potential of this layout. So, I'm really keen to hear how you think I should modify this for the Alt. What else could this be? How could I change it into something else? What would be a useful location?

Please put your comments below, and we'll put our favourites into a Poll

Thanks!!

Well, it could be transformed to the headquarters of the Winged Lances. The Winged Lances is an elite squad of elven mounted hippogriffs.

Btw, they are all very cool versions, but that Lava and Underdark is both a FREAK of a map 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I agree with René here, these are so incredible to look at! What a great job, HM. It's beautiful.

The Sea Temple version could get a flooded variant, or else an undersea variant. Or there could be a variant that the PCs first locate- an ancient ruin in a place where the sea once was- like in a desert, or similar (somewhere you wouldn't find a Temple of the Sea/Sailor).

Oh there totally needs to be a sea version with a couple of pillars at the end of the walkway, to which a Kraken sacrifice could be bound! (Ditch the rocks -- the ocean needs to come right up to the cliff face to give the Kraken access, and you can go with some lovely blues for the water).

What a brilliant set of maps...they're all awesome! I like the sea version mentioned with the ocean (a temple to Umberlee perhaps?), as well as the hippogriff/griffon aerie idea. Paul's ideas for undersea and desert variants are also good ideas. A cloud giant location might be cool, although the room sizes wouldn't be to scale...so maybe a skyship location might work.

If the area at the bottom were seating, this would make a great theater

WOW!! These turned out way better than expected. The variants look like so much fun. Thank you for taking my request and running with it.

man my brain is going ... okay how do i put things in these rooms so i can shift the map and use all four of them... and why is it in the hells, abyss, astral sea and somewhere in the PM. haha... killer map design on these ... just gorgeous <3

I just joined - can someone point me to this map? :) The spreadsheet ended in Q32023 so I'm a little confused - thanks!

Would it be feasible to turn the Great Chasm map into a subterranean waterfall? It would keep the same color schemes, but it would be really awesome to have an "outlet" where all the underground river maps can converge into a massive pool (or have the water fall into the endless pit). Thanks for the consideration! Btw this map set is fabulous. Has such an epic feeling to it!
