Hey everyone,

I've been busy with something you'll see on DMsGuild tomorrow, but I have managed to get the next MotM and variants done!

Something a little different - a slice of medieval fantasy industry! The Smeltworks!

It's provided in both rural and urban settings, with interior, exterior, day and night variants for each!

You can grab these maps from the VTT vault, but you'll also receive full version claim codes in your Patreon inbox.

Last month Patreon was funny about sending bulk messages. If that happens again, you can always find the full codes in the CURRENT post for your tier

Alt-Version

So, time to suggest alternatives for this map. What else could this building be? Is it a different type of smeltworks? Something entirely different? A different landscape?

Put your ideas in the comments and we'll put our favourites into a poll!

It could serve as a base for a dwarven export industry on a mountain pass...

Alchemy lab of course

You could convert the smelters into beds and make it a private hospital or something like that.

A slaughter house entreprise in a city setting. The cold storage room with big icecubes and icy floor next to the main butchery. Please include a hatch in the floor with access to nasty things 😎.

I am going to be selfish and drop two different suggestions lol. My first one is turn the into a coach building site. The top portion of the map is where te assembly happens and the final product rolls out. The right side is where wood gets cut, leather is cut, etc. Bottom left is where orders are placed.

My second suggestion is to have them right up to the coast as you did in one of the variants. Maybe closer. Use the large building at the top as a place to launch small boats, like row boats or single mast sail boats. The side building is for repairs. The little one on the left is for check-in / check-out. Maybe have it in both a tropical setting and a crystal clear lake setting??

This would make a great crematorium for when the city is beset with plague. What if the bodies refuse to be burned.

I always seem to need more small strongholds. How about a frontier garrison or travel way station with stables, sleeping quarters, a guard tower, and a courtyard with archery targets, etc.? Official messengers could trade horses or stay the night, and, of course, it could have been taken over by nefarious folk. Simple but useful. A small png file could add a second level to just the SW tower.

Third suggestion! Put this up on a cliffs edge and have it act as a sort of griffin hangar or sorts. Some small military outpost or something where a griffin Calvary can launch from.

I’d recommend revising this map to a Sanguary or Psychoary — place where blood or souls are “smelted” into soul coins, for the Blood War.

Wait a minute. I just realized that we don't have a single Vineyard wine making location. What if we did that here? In terms of style, I think it would fit best if it to mirrored the foliage and architecture of High Edgmoor Hall.
