Hi everyone!

Welcome to the second (of hopefully many!) Patreon newsletters. In Issue 2 I'll be summarising what we've been up to with Patreon releases last month, what we've released on either DMsGuild or DTRPG and what we're working on next. I'll also be doing a 'Deep Dive' into one of the map packs we put onto DMsGuild so you'll see they're useful. even if you don't play official adventures.

Patreon

Lots of maps released for Patreon! Some of them towards the end of the month, because I suddenly seemed to have no time (!!) but they're all there in the end! Some of my favourites:

Smeltworks

There's a bit of a lack of industrial locations for fantasy games, right? We tried to address that this past month with the Smeltworks - an industrial fantasy map that wouldn't even look out of place in a Victoriana game. We did two locations - urban and rural.

Fort of the Griffon Knights

I'm sure that a Griffon stable has been requested by someone every month for years! So, it was about time I tackled it. I felt that the smeltworks actually lent itself towards this, and with the addition of a fort, and a cliff, the griffon stables was born!

Chapter House of the Sacred Lance

This was a map that I was supposed to have done last month or so, but misread the poll results! The winner of the alt-poll for the plague house was actually supposed to be a chapter house (I did a monastery instead) - so this month I fixed that oversight

Kingsloft - Megamap Part 1

We recently finished the last section of the fantasy mega map (the dwarven mines), and the winning poll was to create a map depicting a very high city, with walkways and towers, inspired by the Sharn city in Eberron. This was something different, and I got really inspired researching it. (with the result that I'm keen to do some Eberron stuff soon)

Anyway, here's part 1 of the map!

Hermit of Phadus 4

For the Sci-Fi fans, we were (just a little) inspired by Star Wars (as we often are...big fans!) , and decided to tackle a hermit home on a desert planet. Should be useful for many different scenarios

You can grab the current releases either from the VTT vault (if you just need VTT versions), or claim the DTRPG codes for the full versions.

DMsGuild Releases

What's been happening over at DMsGuild? Well, last month we released a bunch of maps for the new Adventures in Faerun book, and we've continued that with two new massive packs.

Adventures in Faerun

We also added another map from the Dungeon Masters Guide Appendix set - the very useful Roadside Inn!

What's Coming Up?

I've been working on some secret things (sshhhh) which will see the light on Tuesday, so keep an eye out for that. I've also been working on more Faerun maps and a few other bits.

Soon too I'll be releasing a huge pack of winter Norse maps that I did to support Lou Anders' latest Norrongard Kickstarter - there's a great selection of maps!

Deep Dive - Dragons of Stormwreck Isle!

I wanted to use the newsletter to do occasional 'deep dives' into map packs we've done for WotC official adventures. I know many of you only play your own campaigns and homebrew adventures, and so skip over announcements of new products on DMsGuild. I want to show you though that there are loads of amazing maps that would totally work for your own games!

So, I thought I'd start with Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, a D&D Starter adventure!

Part 1 (Dragon's Rest) features a basalt cliff with a winding path, leading up to a monastery. Monk cells are dug into the cliff face on the way up, and it starts with a tropical beach

Part 2 (Seagrow Caves) is pretty fun - it features a coastal cave (with two different sea levels), filled with fungus and growths. It's a pretty unique location , and the pack also contains a hot spring by the coast.

Part 3 (Cursed Shipwreck) features, you guessed it - a ship wreck! It has a deck above water, and then others at depth

Finally, Part 4 (Clifftop Observatory) features a ruined location set off the coast, with magical bridges (intact and missing). A great place for a boss fight!

That wraps up the Deep Dive. Hopefully you've spotted some maps there that you think would be useful in your games, or maybe you've been persuaded to give Dragons of Stormwreck Isle a go itself!

That's it for now. Let me know below what you thought of the secondPatreon newsletter, and if there's anything else you'd like us to feature in coming months!

As someone planning an Eberron campaign, I'm really excited to hear you're going to be doing Eberron maps.

I love the newsletter, particularly the overview of maps you've produced so that I can pick up others that look useful.
