Hey everyone,

First, we wanted to remind you that our 9th Birthday sale is live now at DTRPG.

We've got some very special new maps - four maps based on Dyson Logos designs. They were really fun to do, and form four excellent and useful dungeons.

There's Foundry versions of them too.

Dyson Logos Maps

Next up, it's time to preview August's MotM.  Dyggvi's Peak is a 30x40 map depicting a small dwarven hamlet near a mine entrance.  There's going to be quite a few variants of this - day & night, a winter version (also in day & night), and a ruined version (again in day and night). There's interiors for the buildings too, and the Third Map in August is going to be the mines, so it'll all work together very nicely.

The Alt Version

For August's Alt-Version, we want you to imagine how else we could use this location with the village and mine entrance gone.  What else would you put there? How could we reimagine the landscape or environment?

Put your ideas and suggestions in the comments below, and we'll pick our favourites to go into a poll!

Good luck!

René Bargisen

How about a stonebridge and a small check-point fortress to the South and a giant crossbow ‘nest’ on the ridge to the North? Could also work with a winter edition..

Terence Harris

Fortified border crossing, with palisades, a gate across the road, guard towers, and a ballista or two, possibly pointing both ways.

David Ross

Ancient ruins of a religious site with crumbling columns, one of which has fallen across the river. One section of the fallen walls has partially covered an entrance to a crypt below ground.

Keith Curtis

Campsite, just before the bridge. It's a good place: running water that is lower than the site, so you have drinking water but your tents/wagons can't be flooded. It might even be nice to have a few variations: elven campsite, dwarven campsite...

Cat Girl Gamer

Traveling Merchant, Carnival/Circus, Ransacked Caravan, Gypsy Camp

Stirling Westrup

Still a Dwarven mine, but now there are exotic crystal clumps bursting out from the ground, showing why the mine was built here in the first place.

Maxime Durocher

Refugee camp Open air market Traveling people's camp A large farm with adjacent building and low perimeter wall A traveling circus A massacred trade caravan

Adam Klym

Adding to Keith's, campsite before but the bridge is partially built/destroyed, add in timber and other materials as they are in the process of building/repairing

David Kline

A fortress that is protected by the Bridge to the East. It is located on the mountain and home to considerable defenses in the case of Siege.

Alex Bergmann

Stone Wall and Towers, to defend the town and mine -- the stone from the mine has to go somewhere, right? Why not put it to good use?

aikar

This map is really cool and useful, can't wait to use it for my campaign. As an alt-version I would love to see some kind of rebel camp in the mountains. And as it is not in the description: Please also add the "blank" Version without buildings which is shown behind the question mark. Maybe also in winter/night?

Andrew Croft

Earth elemental.plane village, with teleportaion circle, magma for river, many geodes (go full geologist Joe), and a rock crushing machine.

Pierre Parent

A single guard tower at the intersection of the roads with a wall running from the 'cliff' to the west and the river to the east and blocking access to the only bridge crossing the river.

Dave Lindsay

Desert version or Hellscape version - usually one can be changed into the other in a pinch with a bit of Photoshop. So I upvote anything along these lines - it's still hard to find good maps for multiverse/planes adventures, including Descent into Avernus, so exotic stuff is my vote!

Alexander Wise

i’d love to see a series of variants/alts in the vein of Camp Windsbite/The Rift, where the players have these extraplanar rifts opening in the places they visit and they have to find out what’s causing it and put it right, a bit like series 5 of doctor who.

Sorizzen

A small crater formed by some falling meteor OR a portal to Hell, with a corrupting influence around it.

James Long

Turn the huts in to shanties, and call it a goblin village outside a warren.

albedoequals1

Some sort of bandit fortress or border fortress. It looks like a pass that needs to be guarded.

Andrew B

A desert or badlands environment would be cool. Like a salt mine or something similar.

Nicholas Lowson

something raidable, like an orc encampment guarding a crude bridge made of ropes and bones or the home of a family of trolls guarding a drawbridge across the gorge.
