Hey everyone,

We're very pleased to show you November's MotM - a very useful Town Guard barracks. Located near the town wall, this compound has dorms for the guards, a mess hall, commanders room, armoury, stable and parade ground.

We've decided the variants - there will be night, winter and desert.

Alt-Version

So, how could we reimagine this map ? Where else could it be? What else could it be? What could we change to make it into a new location?

Put your suggestions below. We'll pick our favourites in a couple of days and put together a poll so you can decide what we make!

A guard barrack as part of an Underdark city.

Jimmy the Barkeep

If possible, convert the walls into wooden palisades and have this be a tented fortification in the middle of a field or woods. It could be part of a war campaign where the army is moving through the wilderness and setting up temporary forts.

Mark Manders

Nice work :) Barracks anext to a mountain pass. Underwater barracks made of coral. Desert barracks in an oasis

Ryan Rogers

What else could it be? A small academy / school, with instruction rooms and on-premise housing for students. An orphanage. A monk's abbey / compound. A sword / fighting academy where fighting styles, weapon proficiencies, and general combat skills and tactics are taught by resident experts.

I would love to see it as a slum quarter/squatter home in the shadow of the high city wall.

Stirling Westrup

It could be a small crafting establishment with materials storage, office, work rooms, and the like. I could easily see textile work, leather works, or some sort of smithy (gold or silver, more likely than iron)

Michael O Holland

I love this map. My recommendation would be a version of the same space in a ruined town, maybe even a haunted location.

Robin McNicoll

An Inn of Court comprising of collegiate buildings, barristers’ chambers, commercial premises and residential apartments. Inspired by Lincoln's Inn of London.

Very useful indeed. For an alternate, how about changing the outside of the barracks so that instead of a city wall, it's a guard house on a wilderness wall. e.g. the Great Wall of China, or similar.

Sven Myrin

A small arena where patrons bring their monster pets to battle one another. Cages for the pets, betting and spectating areas.

Be sweet to do a water based city and the roads are all water with boats along the sides..

David Kline

A fortress located in the Underdark, a bastion of civilization in a dark cruel underneath.

Lars

How about... the last safe and heavily barricaded haven in an otherwise doomed city that's under siege, potentially by monsters of some kind, alternatively just by more mundane beings. Could implement cracked roofs, collapsing buildings and overturned carts and stalls all around "The Last Walls", crates of food and weapons and other vital supplies having been hastily hauled inside, etcetera.

Keven Simmons

A livery, with some carts and carriages available for rent.

Andrew Croft

I'd have the wall broken through buildings on fire as if an enemy horde broke through

Dave Lindsay

Night, winter, and desert - fantastic, thank you. For the alt verions, a ruined version would be amazing. Ruins are always useful, for campaigns with time travel, or before & after a battle. RUINS!

René Bargisen

Harbour edition! Perhaps with cranes, loading area etc
