Hey everyone!

For this month's MotM, we've got a rather different map - an Elven Wedding in a forest and ancient glade. It's a 30x60 map, with one half dedicated to the wedding feast, and the top half featuring the sacred grove and a lovely waterfall.

Variants - we've actually got 4 variants planned for this, instead of the usual 3 - Wedding at night, wedding massacre, and Elven glade in summer and autumn (removing wedding furniture). We'll preview those later this month.

Alt-Version

For this month's alt-version, we want to hear how you'd reimagine or reuse this space. How could it be changed or reskinned?  What could be here instead of the stone circle and benches? What else could this map be?

Put your comments below, and we'll pick our favourites to go into a poll :)

Have a great day!

I'd love a version with just the circle and no wedding stuff. Or even just a clearing. It's a cool landscape.

Lou Anders

This is absolutely beautiful.

Lloyd Ritchey

...and a tree-guarded overlook perfect for snipers!

"Shakespeare in the Park" Something in the performance stage area to indicate a play is being performed in the theatre for the crowd watching in the seating area. Instead of Tents, a few wagons used by the theatre troupe and a refreshment/sales area where the wedding reception is now. Perhaps a curtained puppeteer stage nearby refreshments for entertaining the kiddies.

I love this map btw -- and am especially looking forward to seeing it in autumn colours!

AnnaAG

A beautiful map as always, i'd love a winter version of it

Neon_Ennui

Love it! A couple of possibilities for the alt map, replacing the stone circle with: A Naga (or other beastie) pond (dark well of water- perhaps with columns around it). Maybe with the waterfall having dried up. A gladiator pit/ring, perhaps in a barren landscape with the trees being dead and the river red

Curious

Eldritch ritual. Dimensional portal. The water is acid eating away some ruins

James

The Vampire's Wedding. Blood fountains. A solar eclipse.

SomethingWonderful

Oh yes, that circle is CRYING to be used as a ritual place.

Dan Gragert

This is next-level gorgeous.

Emily

I second those asking for a performance troupe or a ritual space--either as a druidic pilgrimage site or to pacify the creature living in the water.

Philip Stephen

I would be happy with the ruins of a broken tower by the river. Maybe some other crumbled walls in the clearing. A good place for a goblin ambush or bandits to set up camp.

Alex Bergmann

A cool map add-on for any map with a waterfall would be something behind the waterfall, e.g. a grotto, hidden temple, prison, rebel outpost, bandit lair, fey court, cozy home, etc. Not a repurposing of this map, I know - but please keep in mind for the future!

Curious

You made a lovely elf marriage, how about a monster marriage, mind flayer would be my pic but kobolds could be really cute, or ogres or something really unexpected

René Bargisen

I suggest a winter edition of a ruined sacrificial place to the north with a mix of barbarian guard towers and barbarian huts to the south. Replace the tree icon on the stage with runes. The map would fit perfectly together fx with Blackwhelk Winter Village, Barbarian Winter Camp, Hand of Vanth, Marshvillage Nangverik, Warrior Stones Barbarian Hill Tomb and Diggvis Peak. A small add-on idea would be a small cave to the northeast with a few prison cells to host the beings to be sacrificed. Entrance could be crossing the stones in the waterpool to the 'hole' in the rockside..

Stirling Westrup

Dimensional portal surrounded by a camp of troops that have come through. Sort of an invasion staging-post.

Stirling Westrup

Another possibility would be some meeting spot between lake dwellers and forest dwellers. Maybe a diplomatic mission (peace treaty?) or maybe a trading post.

Andrew Croft

The Witching Circle. Where potential witches have their heads cut off on a stone block after they have been hung in a cage lowered beneath the waters to see if they drown to prove their innocence. Icy winter map.

Sorizzen

Some kind of smuggler camp by the river where they stash their goods and meet with their accomplices between hauls would be nice

David Kline

The Magmafall Arena, spectators come far and wide to watch gladiators duel next to the Magna run off. Arena seating, maybe a betting booth, an obsidian/lava rock arena with the lava river cutting through. Would be pretty epic!

I like the Fey court and Witching Circle ideas that can be done on that map. The idea of pacifing a beast too, but with a sacrificial altar and a more dark forest... Or a post to attach a victim so that the giant goril*** infamous beast can come and take his victim himself.

Robin McNicoll

More water pools and having a hot springs onsen

Dave Lindsay

If you run a Post Apocalyptic setting, a hell/Avernus setting, a snow/Icewind setting, a city/Waterdeep setting, a mountain setting, etc, etc... none of these added variants are useful. Please don't make so many temperate forest maps. Anything without green grass + trees would be good.

Robin McNicoll

What about some sort of fey forest market? Selling things out of the ordinary
