Hey everyone!

Hope you're all doing well!

You'll be getting the reward bundle for May in a couple of days - full of awesome maps you'll love!

We didn't get to play any games of D&D this month .  We were off to Rome for a week (which was amazing and very inspiring), and then towards the end of the month I ran a wargame at Europe's largest wargame show. That's my hobby, aside from D&D etc - I like historical wargaming.

The picture below is the 14ft table I put together, and then ran visitor participation games on. It was a fantastic day out.

Your games!

We'd love to hear what's happening in your games! Let us know in the comments:

What's happened in the last session?

What have you got planned for the coming month?

What system are you playing?

Which maps have you used?

A Request

Over the past year we've seen the number of Patreon supporters fall each month. We appreciate that times are difficult for everyone and that people have less money available for hobby and leisure spending.

With the changes to Twitter etc it's getting harder to make our Patreon known to people, and we're surprised by how often we hear people tell us 'Oh, I didn't know you guys had a Patreon'.

If you can find 5 minutes to share a link to our Patreon on your Twitter/Reddit/Facebook etc that would be massively appreciated!

-- Patreon Schedule --

5th May - Rewards: May's rewards bundles should be ready for download.  Everyone that had their payment processed by Patreon at the beginning of this month will receive their rewards DTRPG codes.  This will contain all the maps, whilst the adventure supplement and the one page GM resource are uploaded to Patreon.

7th May - MotM: We'll preview your May Map of the Month.

11th May -  Poll: 48hr poll opens for the Alt version of the Map of the Month. You decide what we make.

15th May - Sci-Fi: Reveal of June's Sci-Fi map for our $8 tier patrons.

21st May - Alt-Map: We'll preview the finished version of your June Alt-map., and variants of the MotM

25th May - Third Map: We'll preview the Third Map :)

28th May - MegaDungeons: The next levels for the MegaDungeon and Sci-Fi MegaMap levels are ready for a preview.

Reward Delivery Reminder

We use DrivethruRPG to deliver our rewards.  On Rewards Day you'll get sent a set of codes for the maps which have been uploaded to DrivethruRPG (the maps that your support has funded) .

Clicking these codes will add the maps to your DTRPG account for free. You are then free to download the maps whenever you choose - they'll stay in your account at DTRPG forever. We just ask that you click the code and claim the maps within 2 months of receiving the code.

Now's a good time to make sure you've claimed last month's rewards :)

Thanks, and have a great month!

The table looks great! How are the Candlekeep maps coming along? There has been no updates sonce the one where you said you will start them again and it’s something i’m really interested in.

The table looks great but I prefer your maps :) We had a local Con (Manga & Anime, a little bit RPG and LARP) in our small town and our club did short RPG sessions for newbies. 2 Days, 8 GMs, 30 session, ~120 players, it was a big event for us. I myself was the GM for a session of Turbo Fate (Space Food Truckers, no battlemaps), anoter Turbo Fate Session (Avatar: Last Airbender, no battlemaps), a session of D&D5 (I used a battlemap from Paizo) and one of No Thank You Evil! for two families with kids (No battlemaps). Then we had two newbie-sessions at the local university, I did a D&D5 scenario I used a lot before about the crypt of a frost fiend. I used your "Tomb of the Frost Giant Queen" for this one. In our D&D pirate campaign the group battled a sea dragon on two layers of its lair, I combined your "Explorer: Jungle Coastline" Map 3 and "Cave of the Sea Beast Map 2" (This came absolutely perfect in time). In May the group will go against the base of the Kraken cult which is the big bad of the campaign. At the moment I am building the dungeon with your "Saint-Gerrin Sewers 5 & 6", "Xanathar Guild Hideout", "Flooded Dungeon", the two "Sunken Temple" maps and maybe more. In our Vampire V5 campaign we had a heist against a base of hunters to free some prisoners. I used a real location south of London for this (looked up in Google Maps). Next month will be full of politics and blood magic rituals, no battlemaps. We did not play our second D&D5 campaign (in the Aventuria-Setting of the german RPG The Dark Eye) in April but I plan a crime scenario with a cult base dungeon crawl in May. I think I will use your "Wardenhale: Sewers" (Too many bones in Geomorphs The Great Dungeon Sewers for my taste), "The Cistern Sewer Shanty Town", "Geomorph Basic Dungeon" and "GM Essentials: Evil Temple" for this one. Maybe also parts of "Drabdon City Sewer".

Fantastic table, congrats on the award. The bombed out buildings and rubble are fantastic.

Nice war game table :) My gaming group has occasionally run some skirmish battles like this for scenarios coming out of our Savage Worlds games, either using the SW Skirmish rules or NUTS. Besides the actual around a table sessions, I'm also part of a group running games via Roll20 for folks scattered around Europe, which is where we primarily use your maps. We play across several genres fantasy/sci fi/vampire and systems 5e, Savage Worlds - SWADE, SW Star Wars, SW Pathfinder, and Deadlands, and a more rarer dabble into Pathfinder and Starfinder proper. Map wise there's a world of inspiration out there for fantasy maps and my group has made extensive use of a lot of your maps. Finding material for the Sci-fi stuff has been more of a challenge, as it's less well serviced by map makers in general. I found it especially difficult to find a range of Star Wars styled maps with the grungy industrial feel, but without the mass of neon that accompanies the cyberpunk style. Plus there's the challenge of needing tech assets and structures in different environmental settings of different planets. Several of our recent games involved a post-apocalyptic theme, for Star Wars, the planet Taris, a polluted toxic post apocalyptic feel, but the wreck of an advanced civilisation, but not an 'earth' style one. A lot of map makers in my map scouting just seem to apply a 'rust' filter to post-apoc their 'clean' maps which gets very samey and boring visually. I've leaned heavily on a lot of your maps running this game, building a plot to suit the maps that were on theme. New Atami plaza - Post Apoc, The Transmitter Station, Caldus Zone Scrapyard, Alien Forest, Old Scooter Crash Site, Greywing Crash Site, Dvoltech Industries Processing Plant, Map 6 New Atami Subway Mega ruined diner, Ruined Caerulenite Facility, Abomination Lab B (baby sarlaac pit), Skazerball Area (Used as a Megacorp weapons test area) Petraluna Prison Mine Mega.

Great work. I'm currently writing on scenario 3 and 5 for my homebrew world inspired by Forgotten Realms lore. I play AD&D 2nd edition. S3 is taking place in my favorite environment, winter, and built in a viking-like setting. The game plot is around a mysterious ice crystal, frost giants, arctic orc barbarians and a frostborn cult harrassing a lake shore city town. S5 centers around an escape from the cold mountains (after S3 the (S4?) group gets pickud up by a magic flying ship and travels to a quick 'sky-themed-game, and arrives back in the mountains afterwards). After crash landing they must fight their way through The Underdark to a surface out south of the mountains. Entirely written to maps you have released! So winter maps and Underdark are highly appreciated in these days :-)

Oh, wow, I can really see some of these for Taris. Nice.
