Hey everyone!

Hope you're all doing well!

You'll be getting the reward bundle for July in a couple of days - full of awesome maps you'll love!

Thanks to everyone that picked up something in our 10th Birthday sale over at DTRPG or Roll20 - it's amazing we've been making maps this long, and that people have been using them all this time too!

We used some of the money from the sale to buy a new laptop. I've used my previous one for 6 years, and whilst it was a very good laptop, it was starting to show it's age.  Bought a nice new one that hasn't even broken a sweat working on some very large new maps!

Your games!

We'd love to hear what's happening in your games! Let us know in the comments:

What's happened in the last session?

What have you got planned for the coming month?

What system are you playing?

Which maps have you used?

A Request

Over the past year we've seen the number of Patreon supporters fall each month. We appreciate that times are difficult for everyone and that people have less money available for hobby and leisure spending.

With the changes to Twitter etc it's getting harder to make our Patreon known to people, and we're surprised by how often we hear people tell us 'Oh, I didn't know you guys had a Patreon'.

If you can find 5 minutes to share a link to our Patreon on your Twitter/Reddit/Facebook etc that would be massively appreciated!

-- Patreon Schedule --

5th August - Rewards: August's rewards bundles should be ready for download.  Everyone that had their payment processed by Patreon at the beginning of this month will receive their rewards DTRPG codes.  This will contain all the maps, whilst the adventure supplement and the one page GM resource are uploaded to Patreon.

7th August - MotM: We'll preview your September Map of the Month.

11th August -  Poll: 48hr poll opens for the Alt version of the Map of the Month. You decide what we make.

15th August- Sci-Fi: Reveal of Sci-Fi map for our $8 tier patrons.

21st August - Alt-Map: We'll preview the finished version of your September Alt-map., and variants of the MotM

25th August - Third Map: We'll preview the Third Map  - (which will be Underdark/Drow themed!)

28th August - MegaDungeons: The next levels for the MegaDungeon and Sci-Fi MegaMap levels are ready for a preview.

Reward Delivery Reminder

We use DrivethruRPG to deliver our rewards.  On Rewards Day you'll get sent a set of codes for the maps which have been uploaded to DrivethruRPG (the maps that your support has funded) .

Clicking these codes will add the maps to your DTRPG account for free. You are then free to download the maps whenever you choose - they'll stay in your account at DTRPG forever. We just ask that you click the code and claim the maps within 2 months of receiving the code.

Now's a good time to make sure you've claimed last month's rewards :)

Thanks, and have a great month!

My players are heading to an ancient Greek-inspired city to participate in the annual games, which include philosophy, art (theater), and athletic competitions. The next month will see them participate in these competitions and discover the criminal underworld of the city, including visits to a sculptor’s studio, local general’s home, etc. We are playing in the 5th edition ruleset, and I’ve had to use a city map and theater of the mind for a lot of locations, since there aren’t many ancient Greek city maps overall. I will be using your sea cave map since that includes a seaside Greek-style temple. I wish there were more Greek-style city maps though! I have plenty of medieval fantasy ones from you guys (including some I bought during your sale).

Woo! Excited for this months goodies. That big space-ship is gonna be a great "tutorial"dungeon for my upcoming starfinder game. All of it looks amazing, though! Last session: Context, players are doing Alexandrian Remix Waterdeep Dragon Heist, including The Unseen; They managed to track the BBEG of Their group (avoiding spoilers in case people are players) to their location, basically scouted it in disguise, they're in super close with The Blackstaff, so they got her in on the raid and essentially Waterdeep FBI Raided the place, and emerged victorious. Then I gave them a bit of a spook, reminding them that The Grey Hands are not The Magisters, and do not have execution authority, so a bunch of crimes were levied against them. They made their cases and justifications, and then i paraded in everybody they'd helped so far to come in as character witnesses, proving they were left with no choice, and the city was better off without the dead, as they were all monstrous creatures bent on devastating the city and these were heroes defending it. I had a masked Lord vote that their punishment be acquitted, which the present council including Laeral herself, voted 8 to 1. Party had a good time with the raid, good time with the court scene, and are now carefully considering who they decide to "just finish off" as they now have legal eyes on them, and are essentially front page news exposing a local popular business as being ran by the creatures within The Unseen. It was good times. Also managed to let the BBEG convince them to spare him, for a second round, as one of "its' kind" was responsible for the murder of one players' wife, and they want vengeance. Next saturday's gon' be spiceh!

I am currently running two, concurrent, online tables. The first was started during the pandemic with 8 regular players. We started with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and have moved on to Storm King's Thunder. We play twice a month for 3-5 hours at a crack and with 9 players, I am constantly expanding and adding encounters to both impact story as well as XP gain. Given the need for more encounters and the online nature of the groups, I am CONSTANTLY using Heroic Maps offerings. The second group is comprised of a subset of the main table. One of the expanded encounters that I created for the original table included the talking horse thread from Dragon Heist, where the PCs "Helped" break up a smuggling ring (located in the Keelforth Sons Shipwright), which lead to them taking over the location and creating "Trollskull Trading Company", which they originally thought would just be a passive income source and story point...and then several of the group decided that they wanted to play more frequently (we now play every week for 2-3 hours) and Trollskull Trading decided to Hire. I have charted and combined the threads from both Lost Mines of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak into what I am calling, "The Phandelver Cycle" (and with Obelisk, now there is yet have ANOTHER Phandelver set of content that I can wrap into it). The entry point was simple enough to adjust to Trollskull Trading being hired to escort the cart, and a cross country adventure was had. This past week The Heroes of Trollskull dealth with a troll attack at Calling Horns (Used Nest of Leaches and Little Joy Maps), traveled to Everlund, and using the Teleportation Circles sub thread finally returned home to Waterdeep after nearly two months of game time on the road, at which point the Cloud Giant Castle appeared over the city. Trollskull Trading Company took a unique approach to "defeating" the Denizens of Cragmaw Castle and are contemplating an approach on Wyvern Tor (Foxtail Moor - Wyvern Cave), what to do with not one, but TWO dragons, and how to best support their newly rescued employer, Gundren. Between the two tables, I have implemented encounters across (at last count) over 20 Heroic Maps VTT offerings, and I can't thank you enough for your hard work in this space.

I've been running players through the Pathfinder 1e Wrath of the Righteous adventure path. We just finished up the second volume, Sword of Valor, and now I'm trading off with another player. He'll GM the Curse of the Crimson Throne AP and I'll be a player for a while. Once we get through a volume or two of that, we'll switch back to Wrath of the Righteous. That way, both he and I get to play sometimes instead of always being GM. While running Sword of Valor, I used several Heroic Maps that were big improvements over what's in the module, including a prison, the Mountain Monastery, and some city maps. Joe was even kind enough to do a version of the Great Bridge map for me with a dry riverbed underneath instead of water. Thank you, sir! The adventure also had some great dramatic reveals for the players. (WotR possible spoilers ahead.) An NPC that one player was romantically involved with turned out to be a traitor working with the demons. One of the PCs had previously made a pact with a devil, but his secret was revealed by the traitorous NPC. And my favorite, a perfect cliffhanger ending to a game night: years before, two children, a servant boy and his friend, a noble son, were together when demons attacked the household. The noble child was missing and presumed dead, but was actually carried off by the demons. The servant boy, in a moment of dishonesty, claimed to be the noble child when rescuers arrived, and he built his life pretending to be Horgus Gwerm, the only survivor of this noble family. He figures it's a harmless lie since the real Horgus must have been killed by the demons. He is an important NPC the players meet at the start of the adventure. At the very end of a later game night, the players rescue a slave from the demons, and one player asks, "What's your name?" The slave responds, "My name is Horgus Gwerm", and the players immediately recognize the name. "Wait, what?" "Sorry, but that's all the time we have tonight..."

About to start a Warhammer 40K game where the players are "Adventuring" instead of being strongly associated with a single faction. The players are still building their characters but it should be a lot of fun.

Shared, and I hope my Anniversary Sale contributions to the J&S Laptop Fund helped lol. My primary game skipped this week, a rare occasion (only 2 a year on average for the last 4 years), but when the GM and one of the players has COVID, that's what happens lol. That group is in the final stages of a "grand unified" Tier 3 reimagining of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, where by the end they will have walloped on the Cassalanters, Xanathar Guild and Manshoon. 3 seasons of content rolled into about 4 days in game. It's been wild. VERY long days, no time to rest! It's resulted in a war of attrition type of feel where they're constantly on the run, most foes are very easy (but can still drain resources if you're not careful), but every now and then a big bad shows out up of the blue. Up next, they will be returning to Candlkeep for the next 2 adventures (again, reimagined for a higher level). So the timing of getting Kandlekeep Dekonstruktion is perfect.
