The message at the end of the final episode was to show all the new possibilities Buffy now had. Up until then, with the exception of Kendra and Faith, she had been alone. Now, some of the weight of being the Slayer was lifted, and she could live a more normal life.

You put "In My Sad Era" in the background in mirror writing? (Comparing to the Playbills).

Thank you for answering my question! I agree and disagree. Giles' instinct to leave makes sense in theme but not in reality. Or at least it's a stretch... A parent should give their child space and let them grow up. A watcher probably shouldn't abandon their slayer... these are often life and death stakes after all. There's also a gap in the reasoning for Giles to return to England. We have no real knowledge of his life there so emotionally it's harder to justify why he wants to return. We have to assume he misses his home. Like Domi said it comes down to the writing. More episodes should have explored this. Imagine for example, if Giles had a child he left behind from his 'ripper' days in England. Maybe someone he didnt know about. If he revealed that in season 7, or we had an episode exploring his life in England, we could get a much better insight into his sudden parental issues. That's the other problem with how Giles returns in Season 7; he's no longer in the father role he's the grumpy General that nobody listens to. It's just a different characterisation that needs more development. I enjoy season 7 but they should have entered the war scenario earlier in the season and given it more weight rather than returning to one-off bad guy Buffy formula. I still feel ultimately that the First and that final confrontation are very fitting

I found your answer to my question about watching other Buffy reactors very interesting. And given your job and your other reaction videos, I can see why you would really limit yourself regarding that. I like that you would rarely make any comments, if ever. It is tricky at times to post thoughts without spoiling the fun for the reactors. I personally wouldn't be able to restrain myself that way, and often feel the need to say something.

As little that we saw of the Potentials, my favorite one was Vi, the redhead. It seems that she started out a little timid, or at least not too sure of her abilities. By the end, I could see confidence creeping in. Her line in the final episode, "These guys are dust," shows that she had changed from her debut episode. Personally, of the Potentials, I wouldn't have minded having a story centered around her.
