Hi friends...

About the Buffy/Angel order: I'm gonna watch the S3 finale this week, so I'm trying to figure out the correct order to watch Buffy/Angel since I'll be starting Angel by next week (WHAAAATTT!!!!!). I plan on using the order specified on the Slay Alive Reactor Guide but I wanted to make sure that's everybody's top choice. I know I won't be able to find an order absolutely everybody is okay with, so I'll settle with pleasing the majority. Let me know if there's something better you all prefer :)

About the May schedule: Things are gonna be a little different when I start Angel. Instead of posting 2 Buffy episodes a week, I'll be posting 2 Buffyverse reactions a week, so some weeks might be Angel only and some weeks Buffy only. As usual, I'll take a "week off" in between seasons, so I'll have Buffy posts May 17, 21 and 24, but they won't be reactions. I plan on resuming the reactions May 31st (this gives me some time to hopefully pre-record some reactions, making it more likely I'll be able to stick to my 2 a week schedule). Btw, I'll stop making monthly updates and just do my best to keep posting 2 Buffyverse reactions a week. If I end up being overwhelmed certain weeks I might do only one, but enough updates, I'll just do my best and that's iiiiit!

Hope you all have a lovely week, Dom ✿

I’m just along for the ride. I’ll take in whatever scenery you give me when you give it to me haha thanks for going on this journey with us!

It's always nice to hear from you. And thanks for the update by the way. I don't know if I understand it completely, but I got the gist of your message. Just do what works for you.

Domi E

Thank you Samiah! ❤️

CeNedra

I swear I just posted 🤔🤣 anyway.. sounds good to me xx

My first thoughts are always to do what YOU want to. That said my opinion is to go by what's posted on that forum. These people have done way more work than I am ever willing to do, so I guess it's safe to trust them. Reading through it a little I definitely think it beats my original idea of 1 and 1 or going by air dates. But again I'm with Samiah on this. I'm buckled up and really looking forward to whatever ride you take us on!🤠

Thanks for the update :). I think going with the SlayAlive Reactor order would work well, as it groups story arcs together on each show so that they flow well. Stupid slow internet here means that it’s not easy for me to watch any reactions at the moment (when I try to stream anything it only loads about 5 seconds of video every couple of minutes) but fingers crossed I can manage to see them. After your break between seasons though, your first reaction back will be on my birthday (May 31st) 😊.

Domi E

Aw no I’m sorry the internet has been so bad! :( I do hope you can watch them! And ahh, a birthday treat! I love that!

Christine

The slayalive reactor guide is a good one to follow. I’m very excited for you to start Angel to see how it all began 😁

I don't think we can do better than Bolin's guide for reactors that he posted at Slayalive (the one you are intending on using). I think that will serve you and your viewers the best. In the "Buffy-reactor watching community" we should try not to get too uptight about the order. The last thing we should do is endlessly debate what order to use. I trust that Bolin has made an amazing effort to come up with multiple watch orders for people in different circumstances. I can't believe you're about to start Angel. It's gonna be weird. I've mentioned this before, but I think Angel is going to feel completely different from how you remember it, because you will be going into each season having watched the entire Buffyverse in order. You will now see everything knowing the histories of every character and relationship. I know I often write longish comments, but these are the thoughts that fell out of my brain at the moment. :)

R J Walker (FumblesMcStupid)

That's all very well and good but I've got one question...when are you scheduling the drunk rewatches? 😜 I'm good for any order for the Buffy/Angel :D

Jeffrey

The SlayAlive Reactor is the way to go. Given that, I hope you enjoy Angel, for I won't be along for that ride. Really looking forward to VM!!! Veronica Mars that is.

Hey Domi, sorry I don't comment much anymore but life is busy and I barely have time to breath these days. Despite my silence I still love your reactions and continue to watch (when I have time to catch up) and support you as I have from the beginning. You are awesome! I completely agree that many people take the watch order too seriously. Having said that I do have a strong opinion so here goes. The Slay Alive guide seems to be the favorite choice. My biggest issue with it is that is NEVER lists less than two of each show at a time......and it's completely unnecessary! There are times where it IS necessary to watch two, three and even four episodes of one show or the other together, either because the timeline/story arc demands it or because it is necessary to catch the other show up to keep things even. There are however just as many times where there is NO REASON why Slay Alive lists things the way that they do. As an example: there are good reasons why in season B4/A1 you should watch Buffy 01 then Angel 01&02 and then Buffy 02&03. After this however there is NO REASON why the two shows can't be watched in rotation until you get to B12/A12. No reason AT ALL. It doesn't hurt anything but it is completely unnecessary. I'm of the belief (as I'm sure you already know😊) that the shows should always follow the timeline but if the timeline isn't a factor then they should be watched in rotation. If watching the shows in rotation isn't important to you and you would prefer to ALWAYS watch each show several episodes at a time then Slay Alive is probably your best choice (it's a perfectly good guide) If you would prefer to watch the shows in rotation when possible then follow the order on my Buffyverse Archive. (I've put a lot of time into it so naturally it's my preferred watch list😉) I know you've seen it before but here is the link again: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1B2bdgdr_Rk6lFk4ko35bORMdEIDyusGx Looking forward to Season 04....I mean 01....I mean.... oh whatever🤔🤩

Whisper_dvm

The slayalive order is great. You’ll always get a few complainers especially when in a block of one show vs the other- just ignore them. Looking forward to your reaction to those early Angel days!

Domi E

Great! I'm really excited too!! Totally don't know what to expect!

Domi E

Awesome, thanks! And I'm really curious about Angel!! We'll see how it goes :)

Domi E

ALL THIS BULLYING OVER IT AND YOU WANT MOOOOORE??????

Domi E

Thank you Jeffrey!!

Domi E

Thank you!! Me too!!

Domi E

Haha thank you Andrew! You're so sweet! And I'll def take a look at your guide again :D Appreciate it!

GenU

I agree with the points made by Andrew Early regarding not being a slave to the watch order. My preference is that you do what you would like best. There are other reactors that have faced this before, though. Maybe you can ask Alley what she thinks of doing the Reactor Slay Alive guide as she has only been doing it for a short while and it is fresh in her mind. Remember, YOU are in charge here. You should do what feels best to you. A happy Domi means great reactions!

Domi E

Thank you! Yeah I’ll def get in touch with her :)

UTU49

Yeah, we viewers can be bossy and myopic, even when we mean well... so I think you are usually going to be best off asking other reactors for their opinions.

Whisper_dvm

Your PDF is very impressive! You obviously put a lot of work into it. I like your watch order as well

CeNedra

With the reactor version the blocks aren't quite as .. blocky 😂 it's written by the same person so it's still a great watch order, just more palatable 😄

cruzinbosco

I agree with everything Andrew said. Normally I get bored waiting for BTVS eps when the order states several ATS ones. However, since I am planning to rewatch ATS with you (something I haven't done since it aired, as I didn't enjoy it as much as BTVS), I am happy with anything you decide. It's time I go through the ATS journey again and I choose you to do that with. :D

cruzinbosco

Kirsten, I also have slow net with the same problem. What works for me is downloading the reactions. Sometimes takes a while but once it's done, at least I don't have to worry about buffering or any other problems.

Kirsten (Heavenli24)

Thanks. Normally I do download all the reactions, but I’m currently deployed 8000 miles from home in one of the remotest parts of the world and I’ve gone from 50 mbps internet speed back home to 0.3 mbps speed here, so it would take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to download a 2 GB file (though the internet drops out every hour or so which means most file downloads fail)! Also I’m limited to 20 GB WiFi allowance per month... but the internet provider allows us free internet between midnight and 6am each night, though I can only download videos on my 2 night shifts per week as the internet is a bit faster in the office (about 3.5 mbps).

Domi E

yes andrew’s PDF is incredible i love it so much!! i can’t wait to actually be able to see all of it 😆

Domi E

and aw cruzinbosco, THAT’S THE SWEETEST COMMENT I’VE EVER GOTTEN! thank you so much i’m so flattered you picked to watch it with me!! i hope we’ll have some fun!
