Well that's not what I expected from bachelor parties. Enjoy the beginning of the Bangel breakdown... It only gets worse from here.

Steve Quast

Not what you expected? You aren't aware that they eat brains at every bachelor party?

Foamy

Doyle rides the line between being a nice guy and a cuck.

Steve Quast

They're reviving your Bangel feelings to take your mind off of the Willow and Oz heartache.

Steve Quast

I don't know if you recognize the actor who plays Harry's fiance Richard? He also played the villainous "Ken" in the Buffy season 3 premier, "Anne."

Domi E

Comes as a shock to me!! Bachelorette parties are vegan friendly! 😇

Ron Fehr

I don't know if you recognized Harry's fiance. That was Carlos Jacott from episode one of season three of Buffy, Anne. He played Ken, the guy handing out flyers, who turned out to be a demon.

Ron Fehr

I don't know if you were surprised that Doyle and Harry married so young. It's more unusual these days, but not in my mom's day. She was not quite 18 when she and Dad got married.

Steve Quast

Richard's such a nice guy. Before eating Doyle's brains he attempts to hug him, then he has him injected with an anesthetic so that he doesn't feel pain....class act all the way.

Steve Quast

And then he apologizes! Yes, Richard, you would be honored to eat Doyle's brains.

Steve Quast

"I forgot about Wes for a minute" *Reels in shock*

Domi E

I think he’s so sweet 🥺

Domi E

The freaking audacity!!!!!! This is not what I asked for!!!!!

Domi E

OMG! No way! I hadn’t recognized him!!

Domi E

I just had to go back and rewatch that scene in 301! I can’t believe it was him!!

Domi E

I think I’m just surprised cause I’m in my early 20s and there’s no way I’m ready to get married right now haha

Domi E

Richard, what a mighty good man(demon) ❤️

Molly Willis

Domi, your "sir!" count was down this episode, I could barely play the Domi drinking game!

Molly Willis

For clarification, "sir" and "ma'am" are one sip each, as is every incorrect plot prediction

Domi E

Omg I’m dead hahahahaha this just made me laugh so hard!

Domi E

I’m sure I’ll make up for it eventually on my following vids 🤪

zerofk

Many twists in this episode. Cordelia starts to like Doyle! Oh no, Doyle is married. But his wife is marrying someone else. Hey this other guy is evil. No wait he's a good demon. Nope, he's evil after all. All in all I enjoy this episode. Nothing earth-shattering, but a solid story with some nice character moments, some drama, and some humour. It is a bit concerning that it wasn't the fact that Richard was going to eat Doyle's brain that was the dealbreaker, it was the fact that he was going to lie about it.

Steve Quast

I was waiting for a Jenny reference, personally. I didn't hear one, unless I missed it.

Bri

Oh my goodness, if things had been different, a prequel spin-off where Doyle and Harry get married, and he's a young schoolteacher who finds out he's part demon, and Harry becomes a demon ethnologist, as their marriage falls apart.... To be honest I couldn't quite follow Harry's timeline. Does she say he had his teaching vert before they met, but they were married at 20? Was Doyle, like, a genius who got a teaching cert at 17? Like Dougie or some shit?

Samiah

I love how hard the bangel stuff hits you! It’s so cute! Same Domi, same. I’m not sure how far ahead you are in both shows now, and I’m sure someone has said something by now. If not, I’d recommend you not read the title for episode 18 of season 1 of Angel. It’s definitely a spoiler.

UTU49

Psst. Steve. I don't think we're supposed to tell women about the brain-eating at bachelor parties.

UTU49

There's a huge inconsistency between Doyle's emotional attachment to Harriet and his romantic interest in Cordelia. I think, however, that it is an inconsistency that makes sense in-universe. Doyle is carrying emotional baggage and his interest in Cordelia is a way of distancing himself from his past that he is clearly not over. This episode seems like an important step for Doyle if he is going to move past his relationship with Harriet.

UTU49

"The freaking audacity!!!!!! This is not what I asked for!!!!!" That's the Buffyverse in a nutshell.

UTU49

Doyle's wife's name is Harriet. So many people don't seem to hear the "t" at the end of Harriet. I think it's because the way Doyle says it, he kind of swallows the "t". (Not "swallows the TEA". That's Giles who does that.)

Steve Quast

Well I would tell her about the non-brain-eating bachelor parties, but I don't know of any.

Ron Fehr

Hey Steve. I think that's because this was an Angel episode noy Buffy. Although it was Angel who killed Jenny.

Loves Bitca

Her given name is Harriet, but she is referred to as "Harry" as a nickname. Listed in the cast and characters as "Harriet "Harry" Doyle".

Loves Bitca

Most people aren't but think they are, which I think Doyle and Harry are an example of even without the demon thing. You just realize it and have your head screwed on straight, more than some people.

Loves Bitca

I didn't take it as Cordy seeing something romantic that isn't there, with any guy that saves her, so much as we're seeing a slight change in Cordy's values. Despite her date being rich she found him boring and a coward. She saw substance in Doyles bravery that she didn't think existed previously. Her attraction to Wesley on Buffy started when she first met him, not with him saving her. And it was a superficial attraction.

Hosman

I always find it hilarious how Richard mistakes Angel for Doyle and then when he realizes who Doyle is he's like "Ah that's more like it." Makes me feel bad for Doyle but it's so funny though.

Veronika

Here we goooo! So exciiiited! Top-notch reaction as always <3 btw. I just wanted to ask if I could join you on your quest to deal with the writers because it's been years and I'm still not over all these emotional rollercoasters they put us through :D

Domi E

Miss Jenny I am so sorry they have missed me mentioning you. Gone but never forgotten #BringMissWeekendBack

Domi E

Haha so true!! It really has so many twists I dig that so much!

Domi E

Omg that would be SO FUN!! I wanna watch that so badly! Such a great idea! And LOL, good point 😂I don’t fuck with math but that don’t add up

Domi E

Oh thank you! I’m in 1x10 and people had told me to avoid Angel titles in the future, so I’ll keep that in mind! And oh man… Can’t wait to share the next episodes then, haha.

Domi E

Really good point! Totally hadn’t thought of that!

Domi E

Hahaha. How puny! And oh gotcha, totally thought she was just Harry, woops!

Domi E

Oh yeah this is a great point!!!

Domi E

It’s so awkward but so funny🤣🤣🤣

Domi E

Aw thank you! And yes of course, everyone is welcome to join the lawsuit!!

UTU49

Oooh, I am TOTALLY going to try to think of something to add to the drinking game.

UTU49

Yeah, zero. I consider that a writing error. Rather than "You were going to start our marriage off with deceit", Harriet probably should have said, "You were going to KILL a person that I care about. Do not ever look at me or talk to me ever again. You horrify me and disgust me. You are a violent criminal who should rot to death behind bars. You are dead to me. Full stop."

UTU49

Me neither! ... until now. In other words, my thought above was not something I thought of consciously before, until this viewing.

UTU49

A new drinking game item: Whenever Domi threatens to sue the writers.

Jordan Haddow

Great reaction. It is a fun episode. Quite the cliffhanger too. Also, silly Domi, Doyle isn't the first good demon in the Buffyverse. If you go back to the end of season 2, we were introduced to Whistler, the demon that saved Angel from himself and introduced him to Buffy just at the moment she becomes the slayer. I'm not going to talk to much more, as this episode is so closely tied to others and it would be too easy to accidentally slip a spoiler. So, I'll just say I am looking forward to your next reaction.

Molly Willis

This totally needs to be a thing - we need one for "down your drink"

Steve Quast

Luckily I don't drink, so I'll be taking sips of water or tea. Otherwise I would die of alcohol poisoning.

litafanforlife

Lol I loved all the Bangel reactions you had in this episode. I reacted the same way when I first saw the episode.
