I'm a huge Graham fan. His reaction when he walks into the room and gets hit on the head with the "basketball", in Doomed, won me over to him the first time watching many years ago. Understated acting. He meshes well with Forrest's over-the-top personality.

Happy Birthday Domi.

You spoke about your screenwriting class and the name of the person sitting beside you (the actress's name is Amber Benson), and I hab to tell you, my youngest niece is named Amber as well.

Happy Birthday Domi! <3

I think switching back and forth between doing one and two episodes a week is a good balance between doing one a week (kinda slow) and two a week, which may be too overwhelming seeing as how your life is pretty busy right now. I'm good with it.

"Ma'am [Professor Walsh]! What are you going to do?" Well she's certainly not going to trap Buffy in the sewer with two monstrous demons and only a broken weapon to defend herself.......for instance...

Richard Ashton

We want you and Amy. I might have to post this a few dozen times...

Walsh: "We thought you were a myth." Buffy: "Well, you were mythtaken." Loved the pun, but that's just my sense of humor talking.

Happy birthday!!

I don't think you mentioned it (apologies if I missed it), but when Willow returned home after spending the night at Tara's place she was carrying the crystal she'd previously turned down.

Domi: I feel like if you try to kill Buffandra, you deserve to die. There are exceptions...Faith..." Angel: Am I a joke to you? It's so interesting, watching the interactions between Willow and Tara with someone who already knows that Willow and Tara end up together. There were hints sprinkled in from the moment we are introduced to Tara that she is a love interest for Willow, but for everyone else who sees these parts without knowing that beforehand, those hints go over their heads, even when, to someone who knows, they are super obvious. Most other reactors are never sure if even the anvil-sized hints are what they appear to be, and even the really subtle ones you're noticing, no one else could possibly see without foreknowledge. It means that, even by this episode, most reactions who would want a gay relationship don't get excited because they can't see it at all. Up to this point, there's been a few times where Willow has lied about when she's been with Tara, or she has hidden that they are spending time together. The two primary ones are, one, in A New Man, where Willow does the rose spell with Tara and then lies to Buffy and says she was doing the spell alone, and two, in this one, when she talks about inviting someone, but then chickens out and won't tell her it's Tara she would have invited. Most reactors see those two scenes and wonder why the hell Willow is lying about Tara, sometimes even losing trust in her, thinking that she's being really sus. No one has gotten yet that Willow is doing that because she's afraid of coming out. Actually, I think at this point, Willow is "hiding" Tara because she herself doesn't even understand what's happening inside of her. Willow either is feeling romantic feelings for Tara, but doesn't understand them, and they're scaring her, or she does know, and she's afraid her friends will pick up on it and things will change when they find out. I've yet to see anyone realize her behavior is classic "fear of coming out" reactions. It's gorgeously done. I mean, Willow is technically being deceptive, but when we consider how much homophobia and fear there was around gays at the time this came out, her reaction is not only understandable and realistic, but inevitable.

"The more the ... more." Such a relatable quote. Walsh watching Buffy and Riley having sex is creepy - but weren't we, the audience, watching too? So you think Walsh is dead? You're not just a bit worried about her?

They talk about how many initiative men it took to take down those 2 monsters. Walsh thinks because of how tough it was for her men, that sending Buffy down unarmed, to fight them will end in Buffy's death. She really doesn't understand just how powerful Buffy is (I'm including Buffy's intelligence as how powerful she is). She's using the initiative as the gauge of danger.

"What is happening?" Remember what Faith said about Slaying........

Demnevanni

Fun Fact, when Willow did the electricity spell she was using the crystal Tara had offered her earlier, so she must have decided to accept it off screen when she spent the night at Taras

There is one advantage to the order that you watched Angel and Buffy. Youe are able to make comments connected to Angel that other reactors cannot. Because they haven't seen the end of Angel. So you can grin because you're one up on Alley and Lexi (or whoever you've spoken to that is still watching both).

Forrest- It just isn't right. I've always been Riley's second in command. Instread he picks...a girl. Forrest really has it bad for him. lol

Happy birthday, Domi! Or should we refer to it as “Buffandra Day” from now on?

Slightly late but happy birthday! A fun episode, the army guys feeling all inadequate because Buffy's clearly so far beyond them she can just stroll around in her day clothes & take on things that they struggle with as a team while being *gasp* a civilian that won't just mindlessly follow orders. "Oh yes we've enjoyed spanking." - Anya gets some of the best lines & Xander's surprised/embarassed response has certain implications, what with her being an ex-demon whose whole thing was punishing men combined with persistant perceptions (especially back then) about men having to always be in charge. Yep, Walsh is basically pulling a Frankenstein & Adam is her monster, even sharing the name. Faith mentioned how slaying makes her hungry & horny, which Buffy just responded to awkwardly & tried to brush it off, but then the slow mo fight & afterwards suggests that Faith & Buffy are either a lot more similar than they admit, or maybe it's just a slayer thing. Spike is always great & since you roughly know where's it's heading, you can pay attention to the journey & see the small steps.

I always love when they showcase Buffy's powers, like they did with her strength in this episode. The demons she got locked in a room with required 8 of the army guys to take them down the first time. Buffy took them both out unarmed, and most likely the demons weren't wielding axes when they fought the army guys, so was even more disadvantaged. So awesome. Also, Tara!!!! Willow had plenty of Tara time this episode as the Initiative drives a wedge between them. I love Willow here though. She obviously hurt and jealous due to Buffy's behavior, but she doesn't throw a tantrum. She calmly talks to Buffy and helps guide her back from being all doe eyed with Riley to being skeptical of the Initiative. Buffy's getting under Walsh's skin with the questions and poking around was all due to Willow reminding Buffy of the dangers. Plus, when she wasn't being Buffy's guardian angel, she had Tara time. I love when she goes to Tara's suite after Buffy and the army dweebs abandoned her (what, I can be snarky about it). Both her and Tara can't keep their eyes off each other as the enter the suite. Pretty good chemistry, plus Tara just looks so cute there too. Anyways, I could go on forever about Tara. Love the reaction and definitely can't wait for what is coming down the line. This season has some bumps, like you just saw with Walsh and Adam, but it has plenty of awesome left in store.

Happy belated Birthday, Domi! I hope you had an amazing day!<333

I have finally managed to find the time and fully watch the reaction and omg...what a fun ride! I love how immediately, in the beginning, you have predicted Walsh's betrayal. We also got more cute Tillow this episode (your excitement over Tara gets better and better <3) and that kind of saved this episode for me because that Buffy+Riley+Walsh scene is just too disturbing...anyway I would so love to see you interviewing Amy, please. That must've been so awesome! Will it be possible to watch it somewhere online?

Saga

Okay, I watched this a week ago when you posted it, but I'm an artist and like having these reactions in the background while I work, so I watched it again now and I just realized something. Willow is opening this episode like you said with "Send to me the heart I desire" and in this episode Tara is trying to give Willow the crystal, or the family heirloom. Its the first time we see Tara wanting to literally give something to Willow and not just anything but a family heirloom, at first Willow doesn't feel comfortable accepting it, but then they spend the night together and she's holding the crystal as she enters hers and Buffys room. It may be a stretch but I just thought of it as a metaphor for Taras heart, the heart Willow desire but Willow just needed a little time to accept her feelings. And I just got chills because I have watched this show A LOT and just realized, this is why I love this show. I can watch it a hundred times and still see something new. And also I have to add, I really love watching someone gay react to this. It's so refreshing and relatable, and the gushing over Tara and Willow makes me so happy. <3

You know, I really love Graham. So genuinely impressed when Buffy kicks his butt, so amused by Buffy's questions at the briefing :D Also Buffy being SO obsessed with the Initiative and Riley, I hate to say it but both Willow and Giles have called her out on ignoring them this season and she's still doing. BUT, as you said, at the end of this episode she turns up at Giles', yay. Because, yes it feels wrong when she's not there. They managed OK though, bless them :) I do love Giles trying to get his money back...but Spike's already spent it :DDDD And could Tara be any MORE obvious lmao

Wanna hear something spooky and gay? In ep 3 of the series, Witch, the cheerleader whose hands catch on fire is named AMBER. And she trains with a cheerleading coach named BENSON.
