Thank you Domi! I'm in the last couple of days of isolation following my covid + test and am so unbelievably bored 🤣🤣

CeNedra

I haven't listened to your afterthoughts yet so you might mention this but I'm surprised you didn't say how well they filmed the scenes with both Xanders!! By that comment you will probably realise that they're twins 🤣

Richard Ashton

I can't help but think those scenes must have been atrocious to act, direct and edit.

Dan

Personally I think it's nice that Dawn's finally made it into the credits after all this time.

I never thought Buffy loved Riley. She likes the physical relationship, but Buffy NEVER included him in personal intimate issues. She didn't say she loved him too in this episode in the car. She doesn't share her pain with him. The relationship always felt one way to me. Real Intimacy makes both people stronger as they lean on each other, like Tara and Willow or even Xander and Anya. Buffy only presents her strongest self to Riley and he is completely open and raw with her. Btw, I don't like Riley or his character. Buffy doesn't need him! But....he is not wrong in his feelings. It is not a good relationship for him.

Milan W.

Bit redundant to say you don't like Riley or his character, no?

Daniel Schlösser

I think Riley realized during their conversation in the car that Buffy doesn't love him. He told her everything, how much he loves every single piece of her, but when it was her time to answer this, she didn't say that she loves him. She quickly changed the topic. You can see how he was waiting for her to say it, but no.

At least they were made somewhat easier by the fact that Nicholas Brendan has an identical twin brother, Kelly. Instead of using a split screen when both Xanders were in the shot together, they were able to tape like a normal shot.

"I love that Buffy knows all the English expressions now" Skipping over the part where Buffy was completely wrong.

I say this on other reactors' comments sections on this episode but, I love that Anya immediately assumes the confident, fancy Xander is the real one, because that's just how she sees him <3

Bud Haven

Buffy has never told Riley that she loved him, that we know of. She did tell Angel that she has someone in her life that she loves. But she was more trying to hurt Angel. In the Yoko Factor Riley tell Buffy he loves her so much he can't think straight. Buffy - Tell me about it. And when Riley tells Buffy he loves her in the car she just looks away and says, We better hurry.: But if someone treated me the way Buffy treats Riley I would feel loved. Words or no.

Ron Fehr

That's correct Milan W. Marc Blucas is the actor, and Riley is his character.

Ron Fehr

Dawn was actually in the credits for episode two, Real Me.

I find it so interesting that this episode ends with the revelation that Riley believes that Buffy doesn't love him... but we experience it through Xander's eyes. I love the look on Xander's face in the closing shots. It's like he's suddenly seeing things differently. He's realized that things might not be as they seem... 2 of his friends might have problems that he knew nothing about.

UTU49

"I'm worried that I should have understood (about Dawn) already by now." Are answers coming? Or are you just being slow? (And you should already understand what's going on?) Well, the two things aren't mutually exclusive. :/ I'm totally kidding. I don't think there's anything wrong with your response to Dawn and her presence on the show. You're not slow. I promise.

Dan

Yes, but I was specifically addressing Domi's comments at the beginning of this video.

Since everyone feels there's nothing to say about Xander this ep, I'll say some things. Twice, Xander puts himself between someone he cares about and "the danger" aka Toth in this episode. Why us that important? Well, it shows us (again) that Xander has a core if courage and bravery that not even he realizes. He told Willow that Buffy always has to save him. But, that's not true. He has saved the others a few times. He regularly goes toward the danger, putting his own life at risk. But why? Well, loyalty. But mainly it's because he doesn't value himself. Ever notice how when Xander talks about himself it's always derogatory? In his mind, his life has exponentially less value than the lives of everyone around him. So, charging at the danger or using himself as a physical shield to protect any of his friends is a worthwhile sacrifice. Giving himself to save them would give his life value. It's only in seeing his good qualities in "other Xander" that Xander (along with the Scoobies) see there is more to him then they have previously acknowledged.

Sophia Connolly

Nicholas's twin brother actually played the other Xander in scenes with 2.

Ron Fehr

I don't think this is a spoiler, but I just wanted to say that answers are coming.

Ron Fehr

It's nice to see that Xander is developing some stability in his life.

Ron Fehr

It's typical of Anya to want to have sex with both Xanders.

“Tara’s wasn’t in this episode and I miss her.” Pay attention to the background in the scene where Xander visits Willow in her dorm room. Something is different. There's now one double bed in there instead of two single beds. In ‘Real Me' it looked as if she was just moving into the room but it's the exact same room as Willow and Buffy had in Season 4. Why would there be a need to unpack anything if it's already there? Willow has a new roommate. Guess who? :) Don't quite think it's official yet but it will be.
