'People have lifes...not Angel but'...That was such a sick burn :D I love you for trying to manifest Faith into any scenario. I miss her too and I think the way they filmed the scene, it really could've been a prison. But nope, just the old Wolfram&Hart :/

Ron Fehr

I was a little surprised as well that Virginia and her dad didn't figure out that the person protecting her wasn't actually Angel. It seemed to me that some of Wes's actions and words should have tipped them off. And I liked how Wes tried to justify being able to sleep with Virginia. First it was a curse, but it ended up as just a recommendation. Lol

Antonio

I'd have thought the fact that the vampire 'Angel' was wearing prescription glasses would've been a red flag, but hey ho, perhaps they were all on board for a comedic episode too!

Ron Fehr

Good point Anthony.

Ron Fehr

One thing that struck me was how Wes seemed to see Angel. It seems to me that Wes considered him more human than vampire. Some of his actions, almost entering the house without an invitation, holding onto the cross on the helmet in the wizard shop, and standing in front of a mirror, all showed that he had to be reminded that Angel was a vampire.

Ron Fehr

I had the same problem once or twice, but it went away.

I love this episode so much and I wish you could just watch Passion of the Nerd's analysis of this episode because he brings some interesting points (I have to check the video to see if there are any potential spoilers but it is probably safer to watch it when you finish both shows :() I was actually disappointed when it's revealed that the swami guy is fake because everything he said made so much sense but since Angel then found out it was not 'real' he will probably not consider anything the guy said to be true...which is a shame. um..editing here: so the analysis unfortunately has a LOT of spoilers :'(

Richard Ashton

Spike had a spectacle-wearing vamp do some deciphering in Buffy.

Domi E

glad it’s working now!! but is this happening to anybody else? or is the video working??

Rey

Not sure if he saw Angel as human or that he had to remember he was supposed to be a vampire.

Ron Fehr

Perhaps human was not the right word to use. What I kind of meant was that Wes was starting to see Angel more for his human qualities than before. Angel's superhuman actions are what mostly remind us that he is not human. His behavior, usually through words, can sometimes make us forget that.

Antonio

Yes, you're right, I'd forgotten about him! Apparently the vampire super-strength doesn't extend to their retinas.

Ron Fehr

I have the feeling that Angel doesn't like being called a eunuch. Perhaps because he said "I'm not a eunuch."

Ron Fehr

It's been said that vampires have better hearing. Why not better eyesight?

I'm not sure you need "guise" information anymore, but I'll give you my 2 cents anyway. 1. "Guise" is pronounced the same as "guys". 2. "Guise" is related to "disguise". "Guise" sort of means "how you physically present yourself to the world" and "disguise" specifically refers to "physically presenting yourself in order to conceal your identity". 3. So, if you are familiar with the word "guise", then "Guise Will Be Guise" is a cute pun.

I assume when the henchmen guy invited Wesley in to the house he thought Wesley was Angel. So that worked for the real Angel later in the episode when Angel and the gang came to Virginia's rescue. So that explains how Angel was able to enter the house without being invited at that time. Of course this only works if the henchmen guy lives at that house too.

Sean Ellingham

Little trick used by the costume department in this episode - to put extra emphasis on Wes being 'out of place' when pretending to be Angel they put Alexis in a coat that was a couple of sizes too big for him. IRL, Alexis and David are essentially the same size

Hosman

I don't blame him.

Steve Quast

'People have lifes...not Angel but'... Such a Cordy thing to say.

Ron Fehr

I don't know for sure, but I wonder if it would work if he didn't live there, but had his boss's permission to invite him in.

Re. Gunn:- Example no. 374 of a person being conveniently knocked out for plot purposes #nofunatparties

I rather like this episode, for three reasons: first, there's Wesley being more than just the fumbling sidekick. Then there's the swami guy who, even though he's fake, actually had some very good insights. And finally Virginia was an interesting character; not just a damsel to be saved, she was her own person. It's not all great - there is still some slapstick that I could've done without, and I think the swami was exposed to quickly. But the good definitely outweighs the bad.
