As to whether we knew that the Master knew Angel, he says in Buffy 1.7, “Angel! He was the most vicious creature I ever met. I miss him.” And the after Angel kills Darla, he says, “To lose her to Angel. He was to have sat at my right hand, come the day.” A tragic episode. I would say that Darla was doing a little more than “losing it”. Angel, at times, has been losing it. Darla was in despair, suicidal. Good reaction, glad you’re on board with the flashbacks. This one was done brilliantly, along with the crossover Buffy episode.

You said in your afterthoughts that they really keep track of everything they've done on these shows, and you're not wrong! In Buffy 1x07 Angel tells Darla "what's with the Catholic schoolgirl look? The last time I saw you, it was kimonos" And now, four years later, we get that scene. Also, you were right about it being a crossover! Just wrong about which characters would be crossing over!

I have a question that kind of relates to both shows. After Angel and Darla reunited post-soul, Darla needed to see proof that he could still be the vampire that she sired. Angel pointed out that she had seen him drink from humans, to which she pointed out that they were all evildoers. My confusion lies in the fact that Angel told Buffy, in season 1 episode 7 (Angel), that he had never fed off of another human since getting his soul back.

He missed the clarification of "innocent" human. It has been a long time, little details got missed, while trying to impress the attractive young lady.

I love how Darla's backstory begins. Although he was obviously the villain of season one of Buffy, it was still great to see the Master again. Even before actually seeing his face, there was no mistaking that voice. Also, it was neat to see him wearing something other than what he had to wear throughout Buffy's opening season.

Now I'm hearing the HMS Pinafore song in my head. Angel: "Since I got my soul back I never feed off humans." Buffy: "What, never?" Angel: "No, never!" Buffy: "What, *never*?" Angel: "Well... hardly ever."

Could just be a continuity error. The Buffyverse is pretty good about avoiding them but it happens to every show once in a while.

Yeah it's this and Dru being Spikes sire which they changed between Buffy and Angel, and the age of Angel was also slightly changed if I remember correctly.

Fool for Love and Darla are also one of my favorite crossovers. But I gotta point out the "Why are Spike and Drusilla so cute?" and "Please do not kill this baby. Look at how cute it is" literally 2 minutes later. Spike is also one of my favorite characters in Buffy, but I think it's important to always keep in mind that Spike would've killed that baby in a heartbeat. And even present day Spike, had he never gotten the chip, would have as well.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this episode! I was a little scared about the flashbacks but when I saw your reaction to the last buffy episode I knew this will be a good one. You reminded me so much of me with your little buffy and bangel rant and even though I knew what to expect this episode I was praying with you so that you will get that cameo <3
