Indeed you can say this episode is quite spiral-inducing. I'm really gonna need the Buffy writers to start paying for my therapy after everything they're putting me through this season.

Buffy has dealt with PTSD in When She Was Bad, depression in Anne, and is apparently having a mental breakdown now. She has limits physically but also mentally. When her roommate Kathy said I specifically requested a stable nonsmoker." I always think, Well one out of two ain't bad."

Domi: "At least now they know Ben is not a good guy that can help them (because they saw him turn into Glory)". I almost feel bad for maybe making your anxiety worse, but maybe rewatch the final minute of Blood Ties.

This was great. Your concern for these characters is beautiful to see. And of course if you need a break that's perfectly fine. I'd even say it should be paid vacation - any job should have paid vacation, including making reaction videos.

I'm still listening to your thoughts after the episode. Here's where my thoughts went today. You finding this show stressful has made me again think about how my first impression of you was so completely wrong. For some reason, I perceived you to be kind of "cool"... somebody who was confident, calm, cool, and collected and wouldn't be rattled by the chaos in this series. Clearly I misread you. Maybe I'm just dum. :D Looking forward to you finishing season 5. As soon as you are done, you can talk to Lexi about it. (Alley too, but it's kind of special with Lexi, because you know that she just watched it very recently.)

Giles' thing in Restless was trying to figure out what was happening to them THEN - which turned out to be the spirit of the First Slayer or whatever. I mean, they literally answer his question in that episode...

Just watching your intro (a few minutes in) and holy crap. Talk about Spiraling. LOL Yikes. I'm almost afraid to watch this one. Okay, the way that sounds, it's coming across terrible, but that's not the way I mean it at all. I can't wait to watch it, and there is a twisted part of me that loves seeing reactors lose it lol. But I am concerned for you with this one. I hope that makes sense. This is gonna be fun, but wow.

The title even tells you that it's probably not going to have a happy ending. Spiral usually (or always?) refers to going down.

This episode is so good, and I've always loved it, but this reaction made it a thousand times better. If you didn't see it before, I think you see it now why this season is a favorite for so many. I think you see now too, no matter how bad things get on this show, they can always. Always. Get. Worse. :D There's a lot of little touches in this episode that are really neat. Spike's line to Tara ("You go ahead and play with Mr. Sunshine all you like,") always gets me. It's just so sweet and understanding. And there is another little thing. I've seen this show hundreds of times, and I somehow didn't see it until just now. When Ben turns into Glory, Xander takes a step toward her as if he's going to fight her or something, and Anya puts her hand on his chest as if to say, no, don't move. Like she knows he's only going to get killed and she's protecting him. It lasts less than a second, but when I saw it, it hit me in the heart. It was just a really nice little detail.

When you mentioned Spike and Tara, it occurred to me that he doesn't really treat her as badly as the other Scoobies. Sure he hit her once, but only to prove that she wasn't actually a demon.

I like the low key reaction of Spike to Tara's exposing him to sunlight & how after the initial shock of exposure he completely forgives her - he's had a lot of experience dealing with Drusilla so probably understands issues around mental illness better than anyone else present.

Oh Domi, I hate to see how the show and the scheduling stresses you. Take all the time you need. When you really don't want to watch the next buffy or angel episode you don't have to stick to the watch order and switch between these two if it will help you. I hope this doesn't come out spoilery (if it does, please tell me guys and I will edit). It doesn't work every time because sometimes both shows can be somewhat stressful at the same time but most of the times when btvs episode is extremely sad the next ats episode tends to be more comedic and vice versa.

Buffy, Ben, and Dawn are all in very similar situations. All three are supernatural beings that didn't choose to have weighty lives they do. They all would rather have a nice normal life
