IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!! As mentioned, I won't be able to post it on January 1st, since I won't be in town, so 6x01 will be posted around Jan 8th.

Merry Christmas Domi.

Not my favorite episode, considering what happens to Lorne's place, but since it's your reaction, I'll try to watch it. Also, I hate what happens to Merl. You're definitely right. It would have been great to get a Merl-centric episode.

Veronika

Merry Christmas, Domi! I hope you're enjoying the holidays <3 Can't wait to watch this one with you and badass Fred, what a perfect combo!

Caritas was my favorite place in the Buffyverse. Watching it be destroyed this episode hurts now as much as it did back then. I like this episode, it has its issues but my favorite moments come from Lorne and Wesley. Wes was incredibly brave confronting Rondell, especially after a traumatic experience being shot, and though he was harsh with Gunn he doesn’t want anyone or anything that could compromise the team

MMM...Angel

This is why Geo is one of only two characters in the entire Buffyverse I truly hate. Most will know the other.

What a gift: to see your face, hear your voice, and watch Angel on Xmas! Hugs, friend! Love you!

Ron Fehr

Yes, a great surprise Christmas present!

When you said you were going to fly to see your family, I thought you meant Brazil. Quite the commute. NYC not as far, though I hope the weather isn't too bad. Not Brazil at Christmas. lol

Give Angel some credit, I'm sure he is equipped to pay his debt in a pool, if that's what the three lovely Furies want.

Hosman

Even better lol

I love how your statement can mean so many different characters. Everyone can go "yep, I know exactly who you mean" and yet be talking about someone completely different.

Angel is very unlikeable in that opening scene. And that's coming from someone who often likes the unlikeable characters. Angel is just petty and mean, and not in a fun way. But even then he's nothing compared to how blood-boilingly frustrating Gio is. Overall, I don't like this episode much. On paper it could be good: Gunn is torn between old and new loyalties. But the racism metaphor feels extremely ham-handed to me.

Ron Fehr

Angel says "When the time comes that you have to kill me." I think what he means by that is that, with his long life, he will not be able to hold Angelus back forever. Yes, he turned dark without reverting to Angelus, but there are likely other ways to lose his soul again. We just don't know them. True happiness, yes, but is that the only way?

Shaun Houghton

Yes, true happiness is the only way, that is how the curse works. How that "true happiness" is reached, or the trigger for that to occur, may have various ways to come about. Multiple roads to one destination. We shall see.

Ron Fehr

Thanks for your insight. I hadn't quite thought of it that way.
