UPDATE: Hi friends after reading your comments here + Discord, I adjusted the volume to make this video louder. Sorry about that. Since I don't watch my reactions it's hard to figure out volume stuff until I'm editing the youtube versions LOL. Hopefully this link works better :) It should say "Buffy 6x04 (Re-edited)".

----------------------------------------------------------------

GILLESSSSSSS <3 <3 My heart!!!!! And what AMAZING cameos, I am so excited to keep watching and see how all of this will unfold. Also, I love you miss Buffandra.

And sorry for the delay with this video. As I mention in my intro, I'm actually currently in the process of preparing to move back to Brasil, and life has been pretty chaotic. So for the next month, it's likely some videos might be 1/2 days late like this one. But hopefully I can make it up to y'all soon :( Sorry about that.

Is there a possibility to increase the volume next time? Maybe I'm getting old, but this time I struggled to listen. A great reaction, though!

Hmm, let's see, so far with Buffy we've seen psychomotor retardation (the scene at the kitchen sink), emotional blunting (Willow pointing out that she hadn't been expressing a full range of emotions since she got back), Anhedonia (Giles is back and apart from the initial hug Buffy doesn't seem to be able to find a lot of enjoyment in that), emotional withdrawal, and sleep disturbance (as told to Giles). Survey says, Clinical Depression. One of the reasons I absolutely adore this season is because they depict clinical depression as more than just someone crying and being all teary, they actually take the time to show symptoms properly.

I don't have a problem hearing Domi, but I usually have a hard time hearing the audio from the Buffy/Angel Video.

Thanks for the reaction, great episode too. I love this season and am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the season, Good luck with the move. Moving in general is a pain but moving out of country has gotta be really a pain in the butt.

“Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve” “Is going to help solve”

Ah yes, the American heath care system. Eventually it gets almost everyone. The last year of someone's life can cost tens of thousands of dollars. I read on average $30k, a month of hospice alone $18k. Giles. You mentioned when Giles said he meet with the Watchers Council, why? I've thought it was to turn in his Watcher's diary. After all it was finished because Buffy had died, and I have no doubt he would continue to keep it up even after he was fired, and rehired.

I just want to make one quick correction. You mentioned that you didn't recognize Andrew from the episode The Prom. That's because he wasn't in it. He corrected Johnathan and Warren (the "robot guy whose name you couldn't remember) that his brother Tucker was the one who sent the devil dogs to the prom. Tucker was the guy in the basement in that episode who was training them to go after people in formal wear. You hadn't met Andrew before this episode. Great reaction, Domi. This one was a lot of fun to watch with you. I didn't care for a lot of this season when I first watched it, and I know it's really devicive for a lot of fans, but now it's one of my favorites.

In addition to showing Buffy's mental state by her actions (blank stares, etc) and direct dialogue, the show does an interesting job showing this through visual and story parallels. The cold open scene is a good example. Buffy tackles on an issue (Mr Drippy), and 10 more bigger issues appear behind her. Buffy feels like her life is being "flooded" with more and more problems. The last shot is also interesting. I see Buffy walking out on her life because it's too hard, and just leaving it to Giles and Dawn. But this is all personal interpretation - other opinions are valid of course.

I see no reason that delaying the March 5th episode would cause any consternation in anyone.

Hi all, I have a tech problem 🤣 since I went to a galaxy s20 I can't seem to pause or forward/rewind programmes on Dropbox 🤔 it only seems to be Dropbox this happens with but most of the reactors I watch use it and not being able to pause etc is a pain.. any ideas?

I had never given much thought to where Buffy ended up at the end of season five, but I probably would have been in the minority. Her selfless act was not worthy of ending up in a hell dimension. I admit that I'm partly influenced by how I was brought up.

I loved your reaction to Giles's return, when Buffy stopped talking in the middle of a sentence. You: "Giles, Giles, Giles, Giles." You wanted it to be him so badly. And while they were hugging, you were weeping tears of joy.

Maybe Domi's brain is just super observant, and noticed she has seen the actor playing Tucker's brother (Tom Lenk) in 5x02 when he played one of Harmony's vampire minions. He died in that episode, so its a different character. So no, we haven't seen the character of Tucker's brother before. He trained the flying monkeys to attack the school play in one of the (presumably many) adventures the scoobies had offscreen between episodes.

Raven Dark

Yeah, I wondered that--if Tom Lenk's appearance in 5x02 was what confused her.

Jeffrey

I was thinking the same thing--wearing Power Beats Pro at full volume and I could barely hear the show.

Jeffrey

Trivia time, from IMBD: Brad Kane, who played Tucker Wells in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Prom (1999), provided the singing voice for Jonathan (played by Danny Strong).

Richard Ashton

Anything other than 'play' is going to be affected when you're more than a couple of light years away. Moving a bit closer to Brazil might help in future.

Tissues being used for coffee spillage rather than tears, that's different - for this show at least. I rather like Buffy's new type of humour. I know it's coming from a place of sadness but things like "You should eat breakfast at least three times a day." and "I was all dead and frugal." are very funny to me.

Domi E

just made the vid louder and updated the link on the post. sorry about the inconvenience y’all, its hard for me to know how the audio levels are because i don’t actually watch the reaction LOL, i only skim through to check. i’ll try and make the episode louder next time!

Marty Beck

I agree. Dead-pan Buffy humor is the best!

Daniel Schlösser

Thanks a lot Domi for caring! This will make your videos even more enjoyable!

The robot guy's name is Warren. The blond guy is Andrew, although I don't remember if his name was mentioned in this episode. It was his 'lame-o brother Tucker' who released the 'devil-dogs' (aka hellhounds) in The Prom. Andrew mentioned that he was responsible for the 'flying monkey demons' at the school play.

Didn't realise it til years later, but many of the issues this episode (and season) bring up would have been resolved if the Watcher's Council paid Slayers for doing one of the most important jobs in the world. Which Slayers have been magically conscripted into doing. And the idea that Buffy should feel guilty that the extremely wealthy Giles is helping her, after Giles only got reinstated with backpay in Checkpoint thanks to Buffy. Even though Giles was already rich enough to survive the whole of season 4 without a job or - presumably - access to what passes for a Californian benefits system as a Brit. And Kendra would imply that Watchers are expected to support their Slayers if needed in a patriarchal kind of way. For that matter, what was Anya living off in season 4 prior to starting work at the Magic Box? Back when Xander was portrayed at times as a bit of a loser for doing the kind of jobs 18 year olds do whilst living with his parents.
