Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

We sure went from "Aw, whaddya mean we didn't get Bangel" all the way to "Y'all are keeping a seat warm for me on that Bike ship, yeah?" real fuckin' quick huh😉😆

It's refreshing to see someone enjoying the trio, every other reactor I watched hated them, or at least were annoyed by them. They even got the certified Liam Duke Eyeroll of Disapprovement lol

I love the Trio. I love their pop culture references and always arguing about geek stuff. It's pretty funny.

This was the season that Buffy switched networks, and it was probably still too soon for a crossover, at least in the minds of UPN executives. And considering that the network was still relatively new, they likely thought that it was a bad idea to promote any characters from another network.

I like them a LOT in theory (what the heck is Buffy supposed to do about humans using supernatural stuff and tech?!), and... well, sometimes in practice.

Re: the money. Remember that when Buffy "negotiated" with Quentin to let the WC back in, she got Giles all the back pay for the 2 years or so since he had been fired. So I think he had a big cache of funds.

Had things not gone south at the construction site, Buffy could easily have helped the crew catch up. Tony, the foreman, complained about being a week behind schedule and having two injured workers. With Buffy's strength, she could easily carry the beams to there required location, something that two ordinary people would likely take longer to do. So it was kind of annoying when one of the workers asked her to slow down. He seemed more concerned with making the job take longer, instead of getting it done on time.

The most entertaining scene in my opinion was the kitten poker scene. And my favorite joke of the episode- Spike: Someone's gotta stake me. Buffy: I'll do it.

Plus there's an argument that morally, Buffy should have access to a share of it, anyway.

Something I thought of with this episode about the Trio - these days, where nerd culture is dominant and everyone knows Marvel and Star Wars and frickin’ Spielberg directs Ready Player 1, it might not be clear just how unusual the Trio actually were in 2001. TV geeks were mostly still in the style of Urkel. The Trio were nerds who were clearly written by nerds - you can’t write that argument about Bond, or reference the time loop ep of TNG like that, if you don’t know this stuff yourself. Pop culture aware stuff like that is incredibly common now, but it was still quite weird at the time on network TV.

Your being quiet while watching the episode didn't bother me at all. It's just nice at times to see you invested in the story. Besides, there are times when seeing your reactions is just as entertaining as your comments.

Spike's head-tilt factor has been through the roof ever since Buffy came back. It would definitely be a head that something would roll off of, as Willow might say.

Honestly that "Oh life plans" hits accurately. At that point in life, life plans really consist of "If I pay this bill now, I'll wait for the refund to take care of the other thing". You're pretty much taking it day by day, and planning ahead is thinking as far ahead as the next set of bills. Any plans beyond that, are VERY tentative, and likely to have to change.
