Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

"There will be no birth, only death" Well technically the can't baby wasn't born, and we sure did get a death. Fuckin' prophecies🙁 Julie B came for our heartstrings in this one y'all "They're not gonna destroy Caritas again?" Me: *grimaces* Uh yeah, about that...

Darla came in as a villain that we were meant to hate, but she sure left with us loving her.

The scenes towards the end between Darla and Angel where she tells him that she loves the baby only because the baby has a soul inside of her and that once she gives birth she won’t remember she even loved it are so heartbreaking. And the end where Darla stakes herself is one of the big moments in the history of the Buffyverse. Just so memorable and sad. I was never a fan of Buffy and Angel as a couple and think Angel’s relationships with both Darla and Cordy are better in general. And seeing Angel lose Darla knowing their history and everything he went through in season 2 to try and save her (the trial comes to mind) just makes this so impactful. Funny to think that you could have watched this episode back in the day and not felt very much at all about this ending.

The ultimate conundrum for Darla. She could only love the baby while it was inside of her. How sad.😢 If only there was an Orb of Thesulah handy, maybe they could have reensouled her before the baby's arrival.

RIP Darla, for the 4th time.

The fact that you remembered that Darla dies in an alley made this a very interesting reaction. The fixation on getting out of that alley and the false sense of safety when they did...

Ron Fehr

I liked Domi's reaction when she saw the group escaping into another alley at the end of the episode. She knew automatically that this was when it was going to happen. And when she started crying, I was crying with her. It hurt to see her sad.

Same; that scene is always sad but it never made me cry this much. The power of empathy.

Yes the episode and that scene in particular is very well written, directed and acted. Rest finally In Peace, Darla. On the other hand I don’t get the hostility towards Holtz. As we’ve seen he is justified in his resentment towards both Angel and Darla.
