I worked I fast food for a total about 20 years when I was younger, so I spent part of my time looking at the difference between this and where I used to work. By the way, yay, A and W!!!

Ron Fehr

We were fortunate, in that we never hat to wear such glaring headwear. The front staff just had regular A and W visors, and the kitchen staff wore hair nets of course. Also, fortunately the meat patties came frozen, and we didn't have to grind it ourselves. I could go on and on, but I'm pretty certain some people already know what it's like, and they don't need to hear about it.

Girl4Music

Talking about characters with consent issues. Amy… geezus.

Girl4Music

“Where there’s a Will, there’s a way” I always say that 😁👍

Girl4Music

Well least the vegetarians and vegans would be happy to find out that information. Despite the awful animal cruelty advertising to the new employees.

Girl4Music

Listen Domi, If I could only see it as a mental violation like the show only ever makes it out to be, then I would say … sure, they can and they should get back together. But I don’t. It’s much more than that for me. And I couldn’t get back with somebody that raped me. I just couldn’t.

Girl4Music

Of course it’s easy. What is DEAD in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’? Think about it, Domi.

One of my least favorite episodes of the series. Plus, Penis monster

Khanach

Definitely not a fan favorite episode, but my appreciation for it has been growing since the first time I watched it. I'm glad you appreciate the vibe, the portrayal of an endless cycle of routines, the zombie-like characters... I think specially the lighting is really a strong point this episode (and this season), always setting the tone according to how Buffy is feeling. Also, can we appreciate the fact that Xander ate a whole double burger in like 20 seconds?

This is one of my favourite monster of the week episodes, and one that I feel is underrated, in the true sense of the word. It has a tense old-school horror anthology style with a mysterious, paranoid vibe, some humour thrown in for good measure, and a layered plot twist. They weren't grinding down humans; in fact, the burgers didn't contain meat at all. But there was also a murderous alien space lady with a penis head that Willow castrated and got a win in the "I can fight without using magic" department. In a similar fashion, the "monster" was both the dread of working a soul-crushing dead-end job and, you know, the alien penis monster. It also gave us some memorable characters, like the greasy earwax guy and Manny the manager, and we saw some changes in Anya and Xander's and Willow and Amy's relationships. Also, Spike being Spikey. That's quite a lot for one small monster of the week episode.

D - Buffy's never going to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or anything big. X - Buffy's the Slayer... D - But that means she's going to have crap jobs her whole life. Minimum wage stuff. I could still grow up to be anything. But for her, this is it. One of the saddest scenes of the season. It reminds us how very much Buffy has given up to be the Slayer.

Ron Fehr

I don't know about other franchises, but when I worked in fast food, we were not shown videos like the kind Buffy had to endure.

Ron Fehr

Part of your comment could be considered a possible spoiler.

Ron Fehr

Aside from finding out that Buffy got a paying job and Willow is still struggling to overcome her excessive dependence on magic, this is basically a filler episode in my opinion.

Ron Fehr

Aside from Buffy, Gary was the only other employee that was not totally affected by the atmosphere of the job. Sadly he was eaten early on.

Ron Fehr

I'm sure the scene where Willow chops of the phallic-shaped part of 'wig lady''s head had to be a little painful for guys to watch. Also, a warning. If your meat ever looks that color, it may be demon meat. Lol

Girl4Music

No, I do think that part is exaggerated.

Girl4Music

I’m just stating that I wouldn’t get back together with anyone who successfully raped/sexually assaulted me. I don’t see how that’s a spoiler.

Girl4Music

You know that would have been interesting if it turned out the meat was demons. I mean Buffy kills demons discriminatly. I wonder where she stands on eating them.

Ron Fehr

Well, we know where Anya stands.

Girl4Music

Which further makes me wonder just what demonism entails for vengeance demons.

Ron Fehr

Usually when you mention the title of the next episode, I will remember what it's about. But not this time. I'm as baffled as you are.

Alex Wright

Makes me so angry in hindsight that the Slayer they magically conscripted seems to be the only employee the filthy rich Watcher's Council don't pay for one of the most important jobs in the world.

Alex Wright

Of course Buffy could have been a construction worker but she was apparently too strong.
