Now he has a soul Buffy says all this wonderful stuff to him. And he makes sure he knows that he is responsible for her being able to do it. He fought for his soul back while soulless. He fought the demon to be a real person. A man. And he can play self-depreciative all he wants. Buffy won’t budge. She won’t let him lie about who he really is. Who he always was even soulless. Yeah, he was evil. Unbelievably evil. But he did change. Buffy may never have been able to admit it when he was soulless. But she will now. Because it’s necessary. Because she needs him and he needs her

Yes. Well the older they are, the uglier they are. Remember The Master? He was Deadpool level’s of ugly. Also the older they are, the more evil they are which makes them that ugly. Angelus and Spike are actually pretty young in vampire years.

They all seem to have very useful and accurate exposition and input this season. Both Xander and Willow have brought their A game this season as far as that goes. And even Dawn. They’ve all got brains and they’re all using them. Who needs Giles? Xander’s “trigger/sleeper” theory was on point. They’re all contributing. All playing a part. There’s no necessity for Giles tbh. What can he contribute that the others can’t? That they all can’t figure out together? They need info on different kinds of demons? Anya. Computer and book research? Willow and Dawn. Undercover detective and physical prowess? Buffy. Military and army know-how? Xander. Giles isn’t useful anymore. They’ve all grown passed him. He made his choice.

We met the First in Season 3 Episode 10 "Amends" when it tried to get Angel to kill Buffy.

Sunnydale butcher shops probably make a lot of money on blood, so don't ask questions anymore.

You never talked about Willow’s interaction with Andrew even though it’s your screencap. How trying to be intimidating went for her after Dark Willow happened. Nobody noticed she wasn’t being serious. Reminds me of the conversation Buffy and Willow have earlier in the episode about Spike. WILLOW: “Do you want me to kill Anya?” BUFFY: *Doesn’t realize she’s joking* “No, we should probably try to wean him off humans. He’ll have to make do with animal blood.” It’s like all the times she tried to appear intimidating in the show prior to Dark Willow and it never really worked. She just looked even more adorable. Now even the slightest joke about it scares people shitless. I love character development.

*bounces in seat* Hey, Domi, you wanna do something fun? First, rewatch Amends from season 3. Then rewatch the final scene of episode one of season 7, the part where all the villains show up and talk to Spike. Trust me on this, the episode Amends, and the final scene of 7x1, but especially the latter, hits entirely differently when you know what's happening. Or in the case of Amends, what will happen in this season. Just to be clear, the First Slayer is entirely different from The First, or The First Evil. If you look carefully in Amends, you can see the beings The First refers to as Harbingers here. For good measure, you could also follow up with a rewatch of Conversations With Dead People. That episode is gorgeously chilling, but it's even more so when you know what the thing wearing Cassie's face really is.

I came to say rematch Amends but loads of other people already said it 🤣

Why you guys want to throw Domi in a Jenny Calendar spiral by having her rewatch "Amends"? We know she would be totally fine anyway, but that's just cruel lol

As others have said, Buffy fought The First (and its minions that don’t have eyes) in the season 3 episode Amends. The first can transform itself into any dead person it wants. In Amends it transformed itself into a bunch of different people that Angel had killed in his past in order to drive him crazy. So that’s why The First in season 7 always appears as a person that was killed in the past.

2 points. Your microphone is amplifying the sound of your bottle. It is very loud and obnoxious when you go to take a drink. You need to drink from a container that doesn't crinkle or muffle the sound of the bottle somehow. The second thing. Think back to season 3 Christmas episode where Buffy is sharing dreams with Angel as he dreams about his past sins including Miss Calendar. The big bad of that episode was "The First Evil"

Your questions about Robin, the principal, kind of reminded me of the conversation between Buffy and Xander in episode 1. Xander had the plans for both the old Sunnydale High and the new one. When he pointed out where the principal's office was, one of them thought that either the principal was evil or would be affected by the Hellmouth. I believe Buffy's term was 'a bidet of evil."

The title Never Leave Me could be in reference to a line in the song that fake Spike was singing. If you listen, you will hear that exact line just before she reenters Spike's room.

I love that scene between Willow and Andrew. Especially the way she says, “ “K?…” at the end. But I do think Buffy caught on that Willow wasn’t serious about killing Anya. She was just responding with an equally dry retort. I have noticed many reactors and commenters don’t get that interaction and are kind of shocked by both Willow’s and Buffy’s deadpan deliveries of the lines. But I always appreciated it. This show was built on dark humor. To me it’s nostalgic.

Since Buffy episode titles tend to have multiple meanings, I always thought that in addition to the song lyrics, Never Leave Me also refered to Buffy never leaving/never giving up on Spike. It could also refer to the special connection Xander and Anya still seem to share.
