A Galaxy of Magic

Chapter 21

Yoda hunched over the open fire, watching the frog roast on a sharpened stick. The skin blistered, darkened, and popped open in places, and the air filled with the smell of sizzling meat. A stream of greasy vapor corkscrewed into the sky, which forced him to keep a lookout for hungry predators. His fire hissed as a light drizzle began to fall over his camp. The world here was always wet, and the predators were always hungry.

He rotated the stick and bit off a piece of the frog’s thigh. The flesh was stringy. It was more bone than muscle, but the unappealing meat soothed his hunger. Yoda couldn’t help but miss all the good food at the Jedi Temple as he tore off another small chunk. He pulled a face and spat a bone fragment into the mud at his feet. It amazed him how far he and the Jedi Order had fallen in such a short amount of time. He placed much of the blame on himself. He was the Grand Master after all.

Suddenly, there was a sharp, instantaneous chill. The chill wasn’t in the air. This planet was always uncomfortably hot, even at night. No, the chill was in the fibers of his mind. It curled up through his spine, coiled in his gut, and tingled out into the tips of his long, pointy ears. The Force was shifting. It wasn’t violent by any means, but rather cautiously optimistic. Yoda was intrigued.

He closed his eyes and inhaled, forcing the damp, moldy air deep into his lungs. With the frog stick balanced on his knees, Yoda pressed his palms together and let his awareness settle. He did not so much think as listen, tuning himself to the connection between all living things.

Two larger signatures thrummed in the haze of the Force, near enough to stir the stagnant pool of Dagobah’s psionic energy. The first was older. She was battered but never broken. Her mind was shaped by years of pain and survival. It was Shaak Ti, Yoda discovered. Yoda felt the stubbornness anchoring her presence against the push and pull of chaos.

The other was brighter and edged in a kind of wicked humor. She was someone who had been through much pain, but somehow stopped taking everything so personally. It was Aayla Secura, and she was not alone. Both presences flickered, then sharpened as they drew closer. There was something else with them. Two others, in fact. One was younger, and her Force presence was less developed. Then, there was someone else. It was someone Yoda did not recognize. He had no Force presence of his own, and yet somehow the Force circled him like the planets of a star, desperate to be in his orbit. Yoda filed this away, then opened his eyes.

He finished the frog with quick, even bites before tossing the greasy stick aside. He sat and waited, not bothering to clean up the small, scattered bones.

The ship arrived with no warning. One second, the sky was veiled in leaves, vines, and mist, and the next, a shadow streaked overhead, clipped the ridge of dead gnarltrees, and dropped toward the clearing not far from his hut. The ship’s hull was battered with dark scorch marks. They had clearly been through some stuff. The ship slowed with a low, powerful hum.

Yoda rose and padded to the edge of the fire. He planted his gnarled walking stick in the mud and watched as the ship reversed its thrusters and wobbly hovered as it searched for footing. The landing legs extended and sank into the muddy moss, and the ship shuddered as it touched down. The wet ground squelched disgustingly as it swallowed the landing pads. The pads sank deep into the ground before halting with a deep thunk that rattled the ship.

The access ramp hissed, and the mechanism groaned as the ramp began to lower. Aayla Secura walked down the ramp, her blue lekku swaying with every confident step. She was smiling, and Yoda was very pleased to see that she appeared to be quite healthy. Behind her, Shaak Ti emerged. She was tall and draped in a brown cloak similar to the robes the Jedi would wear. However, hers seemed lighter and more comfortable. She spotted Yoda and shook her head as if she couldn’t quite believe she’d found him.

They were followed by two more. The first was a young woman who moved with a pent-up energy. Yoda didn’t recognize her, and she stayed close to the final member of the group. He was a handsome human male with a tall, muscular build. He walked down the ramp with confidence, though he kept his head on a swivel, checking for any signs of danger.

Aayla was the first to speak. “Master Yoda,” she called out, sounding slightly amused. “You’ve picked a nice place to retire.”

“Zeltros, it is not, but safe I am, here,” Yoda replied. He did not move to greet them, but they understood it was a welcome.

Shaak Ti stepped forward and stopped in front of him. “I did not expect to find you alive.”

Yoda sighed. “Alive, some Jedi surely are. Living, few do.” He cast an eye at the man with them. “Introduce yourself, you should.”

The man stepped forward and respectfully nodded. “Harry Potter, sir. I’m not a Jedi, but here to help.”

“From far away, you come,” Yoda said, and his ears twitched. “Very far, indeed. From where, I cannot say.”

Harry’s surprise was visible, but he covered it quickly. “You’re right about that, but my story’s a bit too long to talk about right now. I hope that’s not a problem.”

Yoda shook his head, which made his ears flop. “A problem, everything is … but this is not.” He looked at the woman with the dark braids and the quick, darting eyes. “And you?”

“Padawan Maris Brood,” she said. “... or I used to be, anyway.”

Yoda nodded. “A shadow in the Force, you are. But good in you, I sense.” Maris flushed, but she didn’t argue. None of them did.

Aayla stepped around the group and stood next to Yoda, her arms crossed. “Why Dagobah?” she asked, without any preamble. “It’s a wretched hole. Even the Empire won’t come here.”

“Because the Empire will not come here,” Yoda replied with a smile. “A hole is safe, for those who do not wish to be found.”

Shaak Ti peered at the hut, her eyes adjusting to the misty gloom. “How long have you been hiding here?”

Yoda shook his head and tapped his walking stick against the muddy ground. “Since the purge. But not alone, now, I am.”

The sky opened up and let down a curtain of rain. The rain hammered the ship's hull and instantly soaked the four of them. Harry looked uncertainly at the others, wondering if they should take this inside.

Shaak Ti dropped to her knee and looked Yoda in the eye. Yoda placed a hand on her shoulder. He felt the trembling, the relief, and the shame. “How did we let this happen?” she sorrowfully asked.

“Many mistakes we have made. Change it, we cannot. Forward, we must go,” Yoda told her while patting her shoulder.

Aayla glanced at Yoda. “What do we do now?” she asked in a steady voice.

Yoda looked at Harry. “An important question, that is.”

Harry stepped forward. He was soaked to the skin, but he didn’t seem to care. “We fight,” he said. “That’s all we can do.”

Yoda smiled warmly and nodded. “Good answer, that is.”

Maris looked up at the ship, then at Yoda. “Do you have food?”

Yoda gestured at the many frogs hopping around them. “Best on Dagobah, it is.”

Aayla laughed, and for a second, the swamp seemed less dark. “We’ve got better food inside the ship. Let’s go get dried off,” she told them, and led the group back up the ramp.

A Galaxy of Magic

They traipsed up the ramp while fat drops of rain battered their already soaked bodies. Their shoes squish on the metal deck. Aayla led the way, pausing only to wipe the water from her eyes. Shaak Ti moved close behind, her steps sure and quiet despite the sodden robe and the extra weight of Dagobah’s mud that was stuck to the bottom of her shoes. Yoda followed them, his gnarled stick thumping the metal with every step. Maris and Harry brought up the rear.

Inside, the ship was much colder. Maris blew on her hands, then nudged Harry. “We should show him the tent,” she whispered. “He’ll get a kick out of that.”

Harry smiled, nodded, and peeled off down the main corridor. “This way, Master Yoda,” he called, and the little green man followed with slow, steady steps.

They passed the cockpit, where Aayla ducked in and flipped a few switches. “I turned up the air scrubbers. The air on this planet is full of spores and toxins,” she told them.

Shaak Ti took point, her red lekku trailing behind her as she set a businesslike pace and made no detours on her way to the tent. “We’ll be in the cargo hold, Master,” she called behind her. “There’s more space and … a few comforts.”

“Comforts? A rust bucket, this thing is.” Yoda sounded amused, but Harry heard the hope in his voice. Living on a swamp planet probably wasn’t fun, Harry assumed.

They hit the cargo bay. The vast, chilly hold was filled with the stuff you might expect to find. There were spare parts for the ship, a few stacked crates filled with various necessities, their landspeeder, and of course, Harry’s speeder bike. In the corner sat Harry’s tent. It was small and unassuming. It looked out of place. It was pitched on top of a stained cargo palette and staked down with metal pegs. The fabric billowed from the blowing life support system. Maris jogged forward, unzipped it, and swept back the flap. “Welcome to our little slice of heaven,” she jokingly exclaimed.

Yoda shuffled forward. He peered into the tent, then ducked inside. Aayla followed, stretching the opening wider so Shaak Ti could stoop in. Harry let Maris go ahead of him, then zipped the flap behind them.

Inside, the change was instantaneous. The floor was covered in a thick, lush rug. There was a comfortable-looking couch in the small sitting area. The kitchen area was small, and it was full of machines that Yoda was unfamiliar with. The air inside was a bit warmer and felt climate-controlled. The strangest part was that it was much bigger than it should be.

Yoda blinked in confusion as he took it all in. His ears twitched, and he poked a couch cushion with his stick. Seeing that it was real, he crawled onto it and bounced twice. He seemed satisfied, so he set his stick aside and relaxed back into the soft cushion.

“Impressive this is,” he said at last. “Larger on the inside, yes?”

Shaak Ti inclined her head. “It was created with Harry’s powers  … or at least, his people’s.”

Yoda glanced at Harry, then at Aayla and Maris. “Explained to me, this must be.”

Aayla plopped onto a chair and stretched her arms above her head. “It’s a long story,” she warned.

Shaak Ti remained standing and tucked her hands into the sleeves of her robe. She spoke in that clear, precise way she usually did. “The rebellion has started, Master. Queen Breha is assembling it in secret. She sent us to gather what’s left of the Jedi. She wants to fight, not just survive.”

“More Jedi, are there?” Yoda asked. His brow furrowed in hope, but his eyes never lost that flat, resigned look.

“We don’t know,” Shaak Ti admitted. “But if there are any, we’re supposed to find them. That’s why we came for you.”

Aayla pointed at Harry. “He’s not a Jedi, but he can do things none of us can. He’s the reason we’ve survived this far.”

Yoda eyed him. “Not a Jedi … but strong, you are. In the Force?”

Harry hesitated, then shrugged. “Not really. I don’t even know what the Force is supposed to feel like.”

Yoda frowned. “Yet, a strange feeling I sense. Like a star, far away, but still bright enough to see.”

Maris sat down on the arm of Aayla’s chair. “You should tell him. The whole thing.”

Harry nodded, and he felt all their eyes on him, even though all the girls had already heard his story before. He started with the portal.

“Back home, there’s no Jedi. We don’t even travel between the stars. However, there are people who can use magic. I’m one of them. I came here through a portal.” He kept it simple, skipping the details that didn’t matter. “I ended up on Felucia and saved Aayla from being killed by her own troops. That was right when the purge started. It wasn’t long before Shaak Ti and Maris found us. After that, we decided to stay together.”

Yoda scratched his chin. “No Force, but a power you still possess. Very interesting, this is.”

Shaak Ti nodded. “He has done many incredible things … things the Jedi could never hope to do,” she told him.

Aayla piped up, “He also fixed the ship’s hull with his power. We defeated a Star Destroyer with this ship alone.”

Yoda’s ears perked. “Show me, you must.”

Harry smiled kindly. “Alright.” He glanced at his own soaked shirt, which was dripping onto the nice rug.

He waved a hand, and instantly, everyone in the room was dry. The moisture evaporated into steam as their clothes billowed from a sudden, warm wind. Their clothes were spotless. Even Yoda’s ragged robe looked a shade brighter, and the faint smell of swamp was gone. The puddle on the rug vanished, and all the mud evaporated off the floor.

Aayla and Maris sighed happily now that they were clean, warm, and dry. Yoda’s eyes went wide. He looked at his robe, then at the rug, and then at Harry. “Remarkable this is,” he said. “How is this done?”

Harry shrugged. “It’s just … what I am. There’s a whole school for it, where I come from. That’s where I first learned to use my magic. Since then, I’ve had many years of practice.”

Yoda sat back, his gaze distant. “Such power. But without the Force, how do you control it?”

Harry tried to explain as best he could. “The power reacts to our will. When we’re younger, it’s much harder to control, so we use tools and tricks to help focus it. Over time and with experience, using it becomes second nature. Though you still have to be careful. If performed incorrectly, it can have unintended consequences.” Harry picked up a book from the table and transfigured it into a cute, fluffy puppy. He handed the puppy to a giggling Maris, who instantly began to cuddle it.

Shaak Ti looked at Yoda. “You see why Queen Breha wants us to work together.”

Yoda nodded. “Indeed.” He paused, then asked, “Why not go home, if you can open portals?”

Harry shook his head. “I don’t know how to create them. My friend created it, and I chose to come through. I had reasons for leaving home. Besides, there’s too much at stake to just walk away from my new friends.” The girls all smiled warmly at him.

Yoda considered this and looked at the others. “Much to learn, I have.”

Aayla took the squirming puppy from Maris and began lightly scratching its head. “We could use your help, Master … and your wisdom.”

Yoda chuckled. “Wise, I am. But hungry, also.” He glanced at the kitchen.

Maris bolted upright. “I’ll get us some drinks,” she said, going straight for the refrigerator.

Harry ducked into the kitchen, his voice muffled by the clatter of pans. “I’ll make dinner. Are you girls hungry?” he asked them. All three answered with a yes.

Shaak Ti finally relaxed and folded herself into a chair. “He makes good food,” she assured Yoda. “And we have plenty of it. You wouldn’t believe how many supplies we have stored on this rickety, old ship.

Yoda watched Harry, and the fascination was clear to see. “Many questions, I have.”

Shaak Ti smiled, pleased to have the former leader of their Order on the ship. “Let’s eat first. The galaxy will still need saving after dinner.”

A Galaxy of Magic

Harry whipped up a meal of grilled fish, mixed vegetables, and a loaf of piping-hot bread. He set the table, and the group gathered. Maris poured white wine for everyone.

The first few minutes were filled with the sounds of chewing and satisfied noises. Yoda ate delicately, spearing each bit of fish on his fork and letting the taste roll around his mouth. After the third bite, he said, “Better than frog, this is.” They all had a good laugh.

Aayla nudged Harry under the table and slid her foot up his calf. She smirked at him but addressed Yoda. “So, what do you think, Master? Do we have a chance?”

Yoda thought for a moment and then answered. “A chance, you do. More if united, less if divided.”

Maris cut in, “It’ll be dangerous to go out looking for more Jedi. Reports on the holonet say Imperial troopers are spreading out across the galaxy. Before long, they’ll even be in the Outer Rim.”

Shaak Ti reached over and patted Maris’s hand. “We hide until the time is right. Breha said to lay low, not start a war.”

Harry said, “We’re not starting a war, but we can still help. We can fix ships, steal supplies from the Empire, teach resistance fighters, and do recon. Even just existing and not getting ourselves killed helps Queen Breha.”

Yoda sipped his wine and nodded, his ears drooping in thought. “Many ways to fight, there are. Not all require violence.”

The talk turned to plans. They spoke of safe worlds, secret communications, and the best way to avoid detection in a galaxy crawling with informants. Yoda’s eyes never left Harry for long. Finally, as the meal wound down, Yoda cleared his throat. “Decided, I have,” he said. “Stay with you and help, I will.”

Shaak and Aayla thanked him profusely before immediately talking about future plans. Harry listened while clearing the table.

A Galaxy of Magic

A few hours later, Harry and the girls were getting ready for bed. Harry had spent the last hour searching through his storage room for the extra tents he had packed away. He finally found them buried under boxes of seeds of every magical plant he could get his hands on. Harry set the tent up right next to his, and Yoda had his own setup with a large, comfortable bed and a working bathroom. The tent wasn’t as nice as his, but it was more than good enough for a single person. Yoda had retired for the night. He seemed excited not to have to sleep in a hot and humid hut.

Harry was sprawled on the massive bed with his hands behind his head, waiting for the girls to finish. The bedroom was dark except for a single light on the nightstand. He was stretched out with his cock pointed straight up at the ceiling, thinking about their future, when the bedroom door whooshed open.

Three silhouettes stepped in. There was Aayla, with her incredible curves and large, perky breasts. Shaak Ti moved beside her, and her tits were equally large and perky. Maris came in behind them, pale as cream and utterly shameless. The three of them were naked. Maris had even taken the time to rub lotion into her skin.

Aayla hopped onto the bed first and pressed herself against him so her breasts pillowed against Harry’s chest. Shaak Ti crawled up from the foot, dragging her lekku behind her. She shimmied in on Harry’s right, and the heat of her skin instantly warmed his side. Maris stood at the edge of the bed and stretched both arms overhead, letting her perky breasts jut out, before flopping belly-down between Harry’s thighs and propping her chin on his stomach. His cock was rubbing right against the side of her cheek.

“You look lonely,” Aayla teased. Her voice was tired, and her hands played with the muscles of his arm with gentle pressure.

“Was starting to wonder if you three had drowned in there,” Harry said, smiling.

Shaak Ti shook her head. “It takes time. Being a woman is hard work.” She leaned in, pressing the soft weight of her breasts into his bicep, and inhaled the scent of his neck.

“Is that so?” Harry asked, slipping a hand under Maris’s jaw and running a thumb across her mouth.

Maris nipped at his thumb. “It sure is.”

Aayla snorted. “You can’t expect him to know this. He is a man after all.”

“True,” Shaak Ti said, smiling. “He’s more of a hands-on learner.”

Maris turned onto her back and wriggled between Harry’s legs, her head nestled on his thigh. “So, what’s on the agenda tonight?”

Harry glanced at Aayla, whose hand was already sliding across his chest. “I was just about to ask you,” he said.

Aayla kissed his shoulder, then dragged her lips along his collarbone. “We thought we’d help you unwind,” she whispered. He could hear the arousal in her voice. Her hand drifted lower, and she gently played with the head of his cock.

Shaak Ti’s hand, meanwhile, was working slowly and surely up Harry’s right leg. She tucked her head under his chin and dragged her tongue along his throat.

Maris let her lips ghost over his inner thigh as she breathed in the musky scent. “There’s no room for me,” she fake-pouted. “You’re hogging him, Shaak.”

“Be nice and share,” Aayla chided, but her voice was amused.

“Fine,” Shaak Ti said. She reached down, snaked her arm under Maris’s shoulders, and yanked the girl up and onto Harry’s lap in a single tug. Maris squealed and landed spread-eagled over his hips, her ass squashed into his groin.

“Better?” Shaak Ti asked.

“Much.” Maris grinned at Harry and let her hands roam over his chest. She rocked her hips, letting his cock press up against her slick pussy. “You couldn’t wait to get your hands on me, could you?”

Harry laughed. “I’ll admit, the waiting was tough.”

Aayla rolled her eyes, but she was smiling. “You’re both ridiculous.” She sat up, straddled Harry’s left leg, and pressed her wet, blue pussy against his thigh, grinding slowly. Her tits bounced gently as she moved.

Shaak Ti leaned in and planted her full, soft lips on Harry’s neck. She grazed his earlobe with her teeth. “You smell good,” she said in a soft and sultry voice.

“Is that all I am to you?” Harry teased. “A piece of meat?”

“More like a feast,” Maris said. She nipped his jawline before kissing him, and her tongue darted out to taste his mouth.

Aayla and Shaak Ti watched for a second and glanced at each other, some silent communication passing between them. As if on cue, both pressed in and began kissing along Harry’s neck and shoulders, each staking out their own territory. Their mouths left wet trails, and their hands never stopped roaming.

Maris ground her ass against Harry’s cock, letting it ride the cleft of her cheeks before reaching back and grabbing it. “He’s already leaking,” she happily announced. “I think he likes this.”

“He always does,” Aayla said, biting Harry’s shoulder and sucking on his skin. “Let’s give him a treat tonight.”

Maris giggled and squirmed against his shaft. “Only if you help.”

“I’m not going to just watch,” Shaak Ti promised. She cupped his balls in her hand, rolling them gently.

Aayla shifted and wrapped one leg over Harry’s hip, positioning herself so she could grind along his side while kissing him deeply. Her tongue slid against his, and she moaned into his mouth. Her breasts pressed flat to his chest, and the hard peaks of her nipples slid against his skin.

Maris used the distraction to sink down on Harry’s cock. She was so wet it was almost frictionless, and the angle forced the head up and into her g-spot. She let out a wordless moan and clamped her hands on Harry’s shoulders, riding him slowly. Her pussy squeezed tight on every upstroke, and the heat of her made him dizzy.

Shaak Ti and Aayla focused on Harry’s upper half, kissing, licking, and biting. Aayla’s lekku coiled around his arm and bicep, squeezing as she ground herself into his hip. Shaak Ti’s mouth worked up his throat. Her lips were soft but insistent, and her breath was warm against his ear.

Harry was lost in every sensation. Everywhere he touched was soft skin, and every movement was a shock of pleasure. He let his hands roam, squeezing Aayla’s ass, kneading Shaak Ti’s thigh, and cupping Maris’s tits as she bounced on his lap.

“God, you’re tight,” Harry gasped, looking up at Maris. Her face was flushed, and her eyes were fluttering.

“That’s because you’re huge,” Maris said. “Now start moving.”

Aayla and Shaak Ti laughed at that. “She’s got a point, Harry. Don’t go easy on her.”

He gripped Maris’s hips and drove up into her, each thrust timed with the clench of her pussy. Her breasts bounced, and she clawed his chest, leaving bright red lines that faded as fast as they appeared.

Shaak Ti moved behind Maris and wrapped her arms around both of them. Her hand snaked down between Maris’s legs, and her fingers flicked Maris’s clit as Harry fucked her. Maris’s moans grew louder and turned into gasps that escalated with each stroke.

Aayla leaned in and kissed Maris hard, swallowing her cries of pleasure. Her hand reached across Harry’s chest, and she pressed her breast into his mouth. Harry sucked the nipple in, biting gently.

The pressure built fast. Harry felt it in his balls. It was a tingle that grew into a desperate, unavoidable need. Maris clamped down on him, and her whole body shook as she came. The sensation set off Harry’s own climax. He tried to hold back, but there was no chance. He groaned into Aayla’s breast and came hard, filling Maris until she collapsed, limp and happy, on his chest.

Aayla kissed Harry’s lips and quickly deepened it until he was sucking on her tongue. Shaak Ti snuggled up on Harry’s right and played with his chest as she pressed her body into his. She kissed Maris’s shoulder, then Harry’s jaw, and finally settled her head on his chest.

Maris rolled onto her side and curled up, dragging Harry’s hand along with her. She tucked it between her legs and grinned sleepily. “I could get used to this.”

Aayla pulled the sheet up over them, turned out the light, and cuddled up to Maris’s back. “We have a long day tomorrow,” she reminded them, but her voice was already drifting toward sleep.

“Yeah,” Harry yawned, letting his eyes close. “We should rest.”

He felt the weight of three bodies pressing in on him. They were warm and very soft. It didn’t take long for all three to fall asleep.
