Good morn! Have a new preview.

Editing this one I was very much in the mindset of pacing out the cuts to not step on each other as much because I thought that would be better, in hindsight I don't really know why haha. I think I'm going to tighten up a lot of these transitions a tiny bit because watching it back now the pacing is not quite on it. I'm talking half-second adjustments but it's enough to botherrrr meeeee.

(Also there will be some supplemental images in the final version to illustrate some points.) Other than that here's, I'm guessing, about the first 40% of my RPO video!

I personally think it's very brave for Jenny to post this video despite her ugly and horrifying birthmark.

I'm more and more surprised at how popular RPO is. So many story beats are genuinely disturbing. Those that rise above are just plain lazy.

Julia Sabbaga

I really liked the movie but, as usual, you're spot on (so far). I just really hope you don't criticize Simon Pegg for he is the love of my life and I would hate to be angry at you

Jenny Nicholson

I don't think I really mentioned him again, I mean to be fair he was barely in it

Julia Sabbaga

which was one of the movie's biggest issues.

Trevor White

Finally someone who is willing to talk about the flaws, I feel like if anyone but Spielberg made this people would be harder on it. Right now I feel like Spielberg is standing naked in front of me and when I point it out everyone just says he's wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt and looks fine. My favorite thing about the movie was at the end when the bad guy is arrested because you can't put a gun in someones face in public in the back of the crowd cheering is a guy with a sign that says "Go Aech!" that made me laugh pretty hard. also did you notice after he saw her Birthmark irl she added one to her avatar. God this movie sucked.

Leesah

Hahaha yes. Total lack of furries. Lets be real

Andrew Kornfeld

hey, I think I found the Easter egg. it's between the shark and half the snake. am I a gunter now?

Brennan Smith

Brb adding “rubenesque” to my tinder bio.

As a side note if any of y’all haven’t seen Ernest Kline’s truly awful poem about pornography I’d encourage you to find it. It make RPO look like high art.

Alex Folk

They were close to the uncanny valley with the avatars, but the least realistic effect in the movie was Simon Pegg's American accent. I think it's his only weakness.

Kyle Brackman

I want to see you and Lindsay Ellis do a video together. Also, I'm glad I get to support you. You're one of the best.

Shaun Cheah

I saw someone reference it on Reddit and holy shit, wow. I want a video just unpacking all the problems within problems contained within those few lines.
