Heeere's a preview of my Toy Story 4 video, the final version of which I imagine will come in around 20 minutes! This is ... what I consider a quick video... ehhhh...

How do we feel conceptually about a Lion King video? I've been considering another "quick" one for that but idk how urgently people want the star wars land one to come out and there's still a lot to be done there.

(Also I imagine my background will be changing wildly for a few videos as I figure out what I want to do with my new space and which furniture looks good along the wall around my bed. I'm kind of visually and functionally anti-bedside-tables but don't like it barren so I've been rotating some plants/baskets/other stuff around the sides)

*gasps* The shark has the little cowboy hat!! “Hi, I’m Woody! Howdy howdy howdy!”

Leesah

I'd love a Lion King video!

Daniel Stephan

Can’t wait for the inevitable second coming of christ themes in TS5 👌

Spencer “Spence” deSpence

So in this clip, Jenny has cleared up that, thematically, Andy is not God, or your father, or your boss

Matt

We need you to do a dissection of the new Lion King! It’s so funny and weird, it demands your thoughts and opinions!

Te Taonga Kororā

I'm very on board for a whole religion centred around not being replaced by a spaceman

Helen Arneson

Feel no rush on Star Wars Land! I think a lion king video would be good, especially during the wait.

Luis

Doubt I'll be watching the new Lion King movie but I wouldn't mind a video on it to see if I'm missing anything good like Dumbo

brody viszka

I'm looking forward to the Galaxy's Edge video so much that I'd rather you take as much time as you need on it so that its the best it can be. That said, a Lion King video would be cool in the interim; it's really bizarre that it even exists.

Jeremy Cabo

I would love to see a Lion King video if you feel like you really want to make one! A Fantastic Beasts style video would be incredible. Expose those sad lions!

5in100ents

I'm pro-Jenny so I say whatever you think is best. I'm looking forward to Galaxy's Edge, but you shouldn't feel any rush or pressure to do it faster or a need to make other content while we wait.

Frank and Beans

This was great. Your content is great. You are great.

Lawrence Whiteside

Unless the Lion King one would a different take than, "why can't realistic CG also animate the faces abstractly?" I say, pass. Lion King is a technical achievement that really needs no other achievements to be worthy of being made. (we can still watch the original with it's expressiveness.). but yeah, saying the emotion is pretty bad writing.

Damian Behymer

I am eagerly awaiting star wars land, but also given how passionate you are for it I'd hate to cause it yo be rushed. You do you, I'll avidly watch pretty much anything you post anyway

Neil Silverman

Oh damn, now I want the rest of it! That was some great stuff so far.

xackorizik

my partner and i watched 1,2,3, and then saw 4 in theaters all within like a week so Im STOKED for this video to come out

Hannah Hicks

God I would love a Lion King video, your tweets about it had me in stitches

Kitty

oh my god jenny you look so cute

i’m meh about the whole lion king release. like why is it still a thing. the minute we give it any attention is the minute disney wins and still continues to approve trash films and continue the endless glut of sequels and revamps that is the hell we have to live in. i say no lion king lol. but i still think your commentary will be funny.

Neil Dutton

Blade is carving his way through another underground goth techno vampire night club. Mist pours out of a baroque doorway, a figure emerges. Blade: "You..." Woody: "This town ain't big enough for the two of us!"

Sherlock Pwns

I think I'd rather have the Star Wars land video sooner than a Lion King video. Lion King dosnt really interest me and i think all the general hot takes have been took.

The BabaDuck

I feel pretty neutral about the idea of a Lion King vid, unless you feel you’ve got a smoking hot take on it.

Kennedy McKee-Braide

whatever will require the least amount of stress to you and that you'll enjoy creatively!! can't wait for the star wars land but love any content that comes out, whenever it comes out

VHS VCR

obviously you create whatever you want and I'll watch. that said, if you are planning on a Star Wars Land video..Galaxies Edge or whatever, that would be AMAZING and i hope it's like 3 hours long LOL

Steve Ray

At least, that's how it seems at the 8:29 mark; that leaves plenty of room for a long-con surprise.... Like perhaps Our Hostess isn't dressed as Bo Peep, but rather is dressed as Woody dressing as Bo Peep (a la Norman Bates), because Woody went crazy with grief over his separation from Andy. Quite a twist! Or maybe the claw-rescue from the incinerator was an end-of-life fantasy (a la Brazil, or Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge), and Toy Story 4 is a continuation. Platinum twist! Or maybe Toy NASA suspects that Buzz Lightyear committed moon treason, and the antique shop in Toy Story 4 is completely staffed by informants and double agents, all waiting for Buzz to let his guard down and accidentally confide his crimes to a new friend (a la The Prisoner). A twist for the ages!

ts_babyjane

im down for a lion king video only because i actually saw it. and i never see any of the stuff that you talk about.

bec ucich

id love a lion king video if you have any insight beyond the flat animation...thats mostly what ive been seeing but the lil plot changes are fucking awful

Shaun Cheah

You could put in a request over at the community tab, or you could just message Jenny on Patreon. I think either would work.

Jenny Nicholson

Yes just message what you want it to be and I can add it to my list!

A YouTuber with mischief in her heart might compare and contrast The Lion King (2019, all-CGI) with Roar! (1981, no-CGI). The makers of Roar! were running a DIY shelter for big cats, and they tried to film a movie starring themselves and the animals (it's a save-the-kitty-orphanage plot, as I recall), and the uncertainty is absolutely riveting. The filmmakers learned a lot over time, and now they run The Shambala Preserve through a 501(c)(3) non-profit, a little ways north of Los Angeles. Safari tours are only $50 per person, with limited availability, all visitors must be 18+, IF YOU DARE!!! http://www.shambala.org
