Here is the winning ramble topic! I'm sure you'll all get to doing these activities ASAP.

(The audio's a bit odd for the first 1:30 as the audio limiter is thrown off by my A/C being on but then it shuts off.)

Things to do if for some reason you can't leave your house

Ingrid Russmann

Really late, but Tea Sparrow is an AMAZING subscription box! It's expensive, but the selections are always on point.

Robert Romero Jr

Allegedly during the making of his movies he expected everyone to shoot like 12+ hour days with little to no food or water. Was a bit abusive on set and was hard to work with. Plus a couple of sexual assault scandals that happened under his watch but made no effort to try to help the victims. Also mostly promoting his own work on the website instead of trying to highlight any other creators on the site. There’s a few good docs out there if you google but those were the most egregious complaints

CPK Grownup

I was NOT expecting a $1500 price tag for that plush lol

anatheworld

i also recently discovered the weird fanfiction disney books and i think the most jarring one was "what if mulan had to travel to the underworld?"...like WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??

Voidscribe

yeah you have to be a high roller to make suggestions. She gets almost 200 pennies a month from me so i get to make all sorts of demands.

Snail

As far as online window shopping, I like looking at really weird video game controllers on ebay, like this one that's exclusively for a train game on PS2 - https://ebay.to/3d4XMJF

Luis

Pandemic or not that was a solid list of activities :D

Louis Gallegos

it would be so cool if patreon can get the mystery lodge video early. as a treat

KL

I had a lipstick subscription box for like 6 months, I really liked that because it helped me build up the range of shades and "finishes" of lip product in my collection and try a bunch of different brands without the analysis paralysis and "tendency to only buy different versions of the same red" problems I run into when shopping for myself.

Tony M Parker

I like subscription stuff that lets you pick out what you're sent like Book of the Month, where you're given 5 books to choose from that month.

Hannah Boyer

Do things like Hello Fresh or Blue Apron count as subscription boxes? I like those

Monica McFadden

Is the video game plush channel PatMac? I don't collect plush toys but I really enjoy people showing genuine, super-specific enthusiasm for their hobbies so I watch him all the time. Also, random trivia, one time I looked up a Japanese auction site that he'd mentioned and they had four prototype Takara My Little Ponies up for auction! I only had enough money for one and it wasn't like $4 cheap or anything, but still very very cheap for a Takara. I guess my point is, uhhh . . . watch random Youtube videos, all the time.

KL

Oh! I got my mom a flower subscription for mother's day, she's getting a nice bouquet of fresh flowers every month for 3mo. That one was a good value I think, I'm really excited about it.

Spencer Hastings

In quarantine i’ve been watching mlp bc of Jenny’s Applejack video. She’s truly the weirdest and best pony.

Citizen Calmar

I'd never been on Twitch before quarantine, and now I'm absolutely hooked on it. Being able to talk to content creators I like and have them potentially respond in real time is a rush. It's been my main way of socializing (parasocializing?) these last however-many-weeks. The last couple of days I've spent so many hours watching Skylarky that it's almost like a second job, only one that instead of getting paid for, I pay her. XD

Bryan Sutton

Some of my quarantine activities - Dungeons and Dragons: Do DnD sesions over Discord or Zoom calls, along with online resources like dndbeyond and roll20. It's a great way to feel like you're going out and doing things with your friends. - Stardew Valley: For those like me who didn't get a Switch when we had the chance, SV essentially serves the same function as Animal Crossing. I just chill with my friend as we tend to the farm together. - Learning how to make video games: I'm using the Godot engine. It's free and open source, and there's tons of great learning resources for it. - Sleeping all afternoon: Because I'm an unemployed cat I guess

Paul Ganzevoort

As somebody from the Netherlands a deep dive from you into the Efteling sounds truly amazing, if it ever happens.

JoAnna Black

I am still working but I have been thinking about figuring out how to make a giant yellow slug plush....

JoAnna Black

Fans can have a little extra content, as a treat

Stubert

Seems worth pointing out that Stu Krieger, who wrote the first Land Before Time, also is the king of DCOMs and wrote Smart House, Zenon, and many others.

Stubert

(And while I am also named Stu, there's no relation)

Ace Chambers

Jenny villager list when. Also I have not done sub boxes, but I did get a Fallout mystery box for Christmas and 99% of the joy from that came from my friend remembering that I "talked about the Mothman game a lot." There was a Vault-Boy planter I'm using for a craft project but other than that I have not touched the stuff.

Kelly Heft

I would love to see your video of Europa Park. They had a universe of energy ride that was just the dinosaur part but they rethemed it to be whimsical so now the dinosaurs wear scarves and are baking cakes for the t rex birthday party. The haunted mansion is MESSED UP. They even have a carousel of progress but its screens. It's also one of the prettiest and most charming theme parks I've ever been to

Alexandra Madison

I got a Universal Yums subscription box (their instagram marketing got me...) and I'm happy with it! It's a bunch of different snacks from a certain country and it's not crazy expensive. I love snacks so it's definitely money well spent to get fun snacks while I'm stuck at home snacking constantly.

Milo Andotis

Jenny you have a putt putt plush???? I love him

ooooooooooooooo

oh my GOD is she talking about NexJen with her insane toy unboxings?

Beth

It's ok if Mystery Lodge gets shelved for a bit, just please not forever, I'm so excited for that one!

Shiny Skunk

Hey Jenny, not sure if it's still relevant, but my turnip prices were 204 today and they've been on the upswing so who knows where they'll be at on Saturday but probably higher! If you wanna sell in my town hit me up.

Claire McChesney

I love BarkBox for my dog, they send natural treats and make high quality toys that don’t rip apart easily.

AllieCat

My turnips are at 411 for the next couple hours! West coast time! I gotchu!

AllieCat

I’m dumb and forgot Nook’s closes lmao but I’ll time travel backwards for you if you need :)

Sarah

i was thinking of making a YT video ranking my favorite Disney Channel Original movies!! now i feel like i have to do it lmao

Josh Harding

Japan Crate is fun. Lots of yummy snacks!

Courtney Zanetti

i subscribe to hangsquad, subscription earrings. 2 a month for $20 is pretty cheap for a sub service, but the really good part is if you follow them on instagram and comment on the earrings you. like they ALWAYS send them. It helps with the grab-bag aspect.

Steve Ray

Does that video-game engine have a Wait() function?

Steve Ray

Is the ToyMaster saga still a thing? I'm not the target market, so I only watched a couple episodes, but it was weird.

Steve Ray

Those Disney+ Animal Movies sound fascinating, both the good and the bad. Who knew that Million Dollar Duck would be a bomb, even with the courtroom dog-barking scene?

Steve Ray

Betrayal at the House on the Hill is horror-movie boardgame gold -- recommended, if you haven't played it yet.

Fembotfury

Awww I JUST had turnips selling for 459 on Wednesday :(

Atarase

Just since you mentioned it influencing your decision making, Efteling is actually closer to Phantasialand than Europa Park!

Bryan Sutton

Godot allows you to program in several different languages. So if you need to call a wait for whatever reason, you should be able to

Amanda Lawless Wasteland

Here's my method to subscription boxes: If they're the kind that give you a few previews of the items inside, I'll ask myself "would I pay the cost of the box minus 10$ (if shipping is included.) for these items?" If the answer is yes, I'll get it. If the items shown aren't worth it, I won't because the boxes I usually get, they show the big ticket things as previews and the other 3-4 items are filler.

Andyface

Trying to figure out where it was raining so I know if I need to water my plants in animal crossing or if I need to water the vegetables I'm growing in real life is becoming an existential crisis

who is counting

there is this youtuber jenny nickolssen I think? I've been mostly watching her during the quarantine, it's a very good activity when you're stuck at home, highly recommend

Andreas Stahl

Oh Fantasialand or Europapark would be amazing! Also Parc Asterix by Paris I would love, although I don't know how much you know about Asterix - it's a pretty big comic franchise over here and it's the only theme park ever where I bought homeware that I still use (I have am Obelix cereal bowl that is amazing). You can get from Paris to Efteling by train pretty quickly! Some things here are easy to travel between even if it maybe doesn't look like on a map - Paris to the Netherlands can be a very short train ride, and then Fantasialand from there is pretty easy too - Europa Park is a bit more out of the way than you'd think. Anyway, hope you can come over on this continent soon, I'm sure I would love your take on everything.

Daniel Stephan

The most important thing she mentioned was watching The Nostalgia Critic

nickneverwins

when i've finished my uni dissertation i've decided that i'm going to watch all the land before time movies, because i've never seen any of them before, but i'm going to watch them in the order that jenny ranks them from worst to best

purplehayes

What is the title of that frozen book?

Monica McFadden

Oh, as far as finding ponies in need of TLC to fix up, keep an eye on Craigslist. About the old school MLP forums go, they are still mostly friendly but you'll find a contingent of users who got tired of G4 about three years before it retired, and as a result whenever G4 comes up in any capacity, they will moan about how terrible it was. (And I'm not saying this as a G4 stan; G1 is my favorite gen. I just get a little tired of this weird dog-fight people think they have to have between gens.)

RichterCa

Me and my friends had an Ice Cream Social (Distancing). We went to an ice cream place that's just a counter, but has a few picnic tables in grass nearby, then just all sat a different tables and talked while we ate ice cream. We'll probably schedule another one in another week or two.

Leesah

Yes! I just downloaded that Frozen YA novel. Apparently there is a whole series of "twisted tales" haha

AK Barratt

"Conceal, Don't Feel" by Jen Calonita. It's part of an officially licensed YA series called A Twisted Tale that offers alternate retellings of Disney stories.

AK Barratt

I guess I'm just here to +1 cable management. It's time consuming, but I feel way more comfortable using my desk now that it's done.

kew

Work on your cheese board skills is one of the weirdest and best ideas I’ve ever heard! I will be doing this soon.

Dee Crosier

I’m glad you’re feeling better now, and thank you as ever for all the content, both here and on Twitch. May your Kindle stay forever dry, and your cheeseboard runneth over! :)

Tabea Zeltner

pleeeeaaaase pony cleaning video

Ash Green

My little brother makes videos about his retro video game plush toys, and it was so weird to hear someone I follow avidly say that’s the kind of content they’ve been watching 😆

Maya Hayes

okay but the fuzzy rainbow short sleeved sweater is incredible

AndyofCT

Ahhh!!! Glad you're feeling better!

Steve Ray

You should write an instructional play about that, Bryan, to show people how it's done. If only we could think of a title...

Bryan Sutton

lol, I feel like there's a joke or reference in there somewhere, but I feel like I'm whooshing pretty hard right now

Emily Griese

I would watch the heck out of a pony cleaning video. I find them so soothing.

Cryomancer42

I think it's best to get a snack based subscription box

Steve Ray

How about "Wait()ing For Godot"? 🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

Catherine Ellzey

I’ve been getting Ipsy subscription boxes for almost a year and it’s really great. It’s a nice way to try out new makeup and skin care items without spending a fortune on something that doesn’t work for your skin or a color that doesn’t look right. I still use a large majority of what I get in the boxes too. Plus it’s nice to get mascara for like $15 a month because I never care what type of mascara I get lol. I guess it’s only nice if you like make up of skin or hair care products. But that’s the only subscription box I’ll ever get and ever recommend.

Luc Gendrot

Curiosity Box always seemed like an okay subscription box. Niche audience maybe but still

Bryan Sutton

For anyone looking for pulse oximeters, Newegg has some good prices. I ordered one for less than $30.

Buddy Crotty

I'd totally be down for a pony cleaning video. I've been entertaining my girls by during quarantine by repainting the ugly "My Little Phonies" from the dollar store and making up new cutie marks and back stories, lol.

Luis

I watched The Hunt in theaters a little before quarantine started and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen! I almost wish I had seen TROS again...almost. Just checked and the only drive-in currently open is like 100 miles away in Sacramento. Guess I'll start marathoning LBT!

Devin M

I was going to go to Efteling for my birthday, which is next week. What I can say, is that while large gatherings have been canceled and businesses are closed, the Dutch haven’t been strict at all about anything really. The parks are still full on nice days and children are constantly playing together in large groups and no one wears masks. Kids are going back to school soon. I wouldn’t be surprised if the country opened up again this summer. I did get to Tivoli Gardens last year and while it’s small, it’s incredible :)

Haliʻa K. Osorio

I started watching sudoku and crossword puzzle videos which was strange at first, but honestly they're pretty interesting. I would highly recommend the channel "Cracking the Cryptic" if you want some wholesome sudoku/crossword puzzle content

Lilah Capp

I like my ipsy subscription box (:

Nicholas Nagawiecki

I've been hiking a lot and cooking good stuff. But I was just attacked by a dog on a hike, so I'm kind of spooked. I guess just more video games now.

Susan M

But what is the name of the YouTube channel that teaches you how to be an elegant lady?

BLTerrorist

Trail cam vids from Algonquin Provincial Park. That's a rabbithole worth disappearing down, if you're stuck at home with nothing else better to do.

Brandon Blackmoor

Chili's but not Applebee's? I find that such a weird distinction to make. It's like being willing to eat at McDonald's but not Burger King.

Rosepetals

I've gotten a few subscription boxes before and the only one I ever really liked (and still get) is Tea Sparrow, which does nothing but send fancy teas to me every month. Ime for a subscription box to be "worth it" what you're getting has to be consumable products (not necessarily food but something you'll use up) that you pretty much always want more of.

Steve Ray

Trust your pro-gamer content provider.

BeetleJOOSE

The only subscription boxes ive liked have been the more expensive ones. Ive bounced around trying the different beauty ones but its no fun getting cheap brushes and sample sizes of things. I liked boxycharm because you get full sized things that are really fun but since its monthly it piles up easily since most makeup can take awhile to go through. I really like fabfitfun since its once every 3 months and they pick things based on the season so you can get all excited about what youre gonna get for the summer or fall or something. Plus it occasionally contains a gift card of equal or more value than the cost of the box? Thats what hooked me first on it. And its a big one too. So thats my opinion on subscription boxes and how p much all of them are trash.

Amos

I like the subscription boxes that are about snacks from around the world or just fun unusual ones. They are fun I feel like they’re less wasteful. Even if the food is not great it’s still a cool novelty and you can share the weird snacks with friends.

Ola Sarcasm

have you heard of the theme park called Hunderfossen? Its in Norway and it is, in my opinion, the most unintentionally creepy park on the northern hemisphere. It has a 45 ft tall troll (not the internet kind) that you walk between the legs of to get in iirc. It also features a lot of Ivo Caprino's animatronics. They're not modern animatronics, it's all mechanical. I think you'd really like it just for the animatronic stuff.

Danielle Palazzolo

Similar to the outfit thing you're doing, I'm putting together different looks based on different themes. I did a 70s thing yesterday and an 80s thing the other day. It's a good way to avoid just wearing the same old sweatpants and leisure wear everyday.

Sterling Desrosiers

If that trip somehow does happen please don’t skip Efteling it’s the best out of the 3 parks you mentioned (at least to me it is because i’m an animatronic and dark rides fan)

R.G. Nairam

I love the old cleaning ponies video, haha

milocrybaby

So happy to hear you're feeilng better and are back to normal!! Can't wait to see the next videos you have scheduled, they all sound so exciting

Luis

Jenny Nicholson is the second breakfast of YouTubers.

Victoria Blake

Since quarantine started my mother has made 17 batches of hummus. She refuses to use a recipe and insists she'll figure it out on her own. My multiple batches of pita bread, on the other hand, are limited only by my own failures as a chef

Olivia

Highly recommend "That Darn Cat" Starring Hailey Mills in 1965 and later Christina Ricci in 1997.

Brendan McKeon

Just looked up the Frozen book you mention in this and realized the author visited my high school book club as a guest speaker. All I can really remember was how much she focused on the cruelties of the publishing industry and how none of us would likely reach the level of success she had if we pursued writing as a career. None of us really had an interest in writing, so the vibe was weird. She was so stunning.

Steve Ray

I just wish someone who *knows* those movies could tell me which version was better.

Justina Thornley

PLS PLS pls do an efteling video omg. it is my dream to go there and since travelling is impossible for the near future i can live thru ur video

Justina Thornley

edit: i was so excited when u said efteling i didnt listen to the rest of the video so i hope youre able to make it eventually :(

Wakelyn

jenny, you have to tell us who the elegant lady channel is, i must know

Sarah Taylor

School of Affluence I would guess!

Rick Clark

Thank you so much for adding this knowledge to my life.

Mallory Bacon

Please don't watch Nostalgia Critic. The way he treats his subordinates and operates his "brand" is abusive and disgusting

Shaun Cheah

Could you expand on that?

who is counting

I like how ur nickname suggests Arabic, Polish or Swedish person

Robert

Before it went belly up, I subscribed to Nerdblock for like 6 months. One month, the special thing was either a signed print of Val Kilmer or Warwick Davis of their character from Willow. They ran out of the Nerd Block exclusive Harry Potter shirt, which was cool 'cause I'm not a Harry Potter fan. They replaced it with a Doctor Who shirt (I love Doctor Who!) and gave me both Willow prints (I also love Willow!) as an apology for the missing HP shirt. Most months the boxes were pretty meh, but that one time it felt super worth it.

Francesca Hartz

DoorDash also had no contact delivery as the default at the moment, but you can special request it from any platform any time. Just put it in your special instructions.

Francesca Hartz

I imagine the lady who goes into insane minutiae about the toys she unboxes might be trying to fill up time, but isn't that a nice thing for kids with disabilities, like any level of blindness, or sensory disorders that accompany cerebral palsy or asd, so that they can get the most out of these toy unboxings?

Libby

in spirit of organizing all of my cables (which is not really an option because my AV tech boyfriend already has them all organized) I have decided to clean all my baseboards. my back hurts. also I know covid is beyond your control but i'd ADOREEEEE a europa park video. I lived in germany for three years but never got to go. it is my life's tragedy.

Megan Hudgins

I am that lonely person who does not receive gifts and I LOVE subscription boxes. It definitely depends on the ones you get, but I'm currently subscribed to: * Explore Local Box, which sends you a bunch of neat stuff from a different place in the US every month. I actually just got my July box from them, which was a bunch of products from coastal towns in Connecticut. There's usually some kind of jam, spread, or sauce, some snack foods, and just some general random stuff for your house. I got a really cute leather phone wallet from their Birmingham box that I still use. Their Salt Lake City box was weirdly like... popcorn themed? Where they had a jar of popcorn kernels from this one farm in Utah, then a bag of popcorn salt from a salt company in Utah, and everything was kind of assembled around making yourself a Fancy Bowl of Utah Popcorn. That said it made like the best bowl of popcorn I've ever had, and I was lowkey kinda sad when I ran out of the popcorn kernels and found out the farm that grows them doesn't ship to Illinois. * Bokksu, which does fancy regional snacks from Japan. They have cool themes every month, usually based around a flavor or a region (June was all citrusy snacks, and July is all snacks from Okinawa). They're really well curated and have a good blend of Stuff. * Back when I was still doing makeup regularly (which like, isn't now, since we're not going outside), I got most of my makeup collection from Ipsy and Boxycharm. Boxycharm in particular is really good value for the price and you usually get like, full eyeshadow palettes and whatnot.

Amery Chang

Okay, genuine question. Is it some kind of social norm to just receive gifts from friends in the mail? Did I just never learn that? She made it sound like a very obvious and normal convention in this video and I was just like, wait that's a thing?

Lamb Draws

please do an efteling video that would be so amazing :o

Magicalbunbun

What forums do you go on? I found that Instagram and Facebook are the best for pony collecting but I kinda miss forum atmosphere

Anna Glin

which youtube channels are those, that you mention arond 4 minutes in??

Chelsea Counsell

I mean boo on him breaking your boundaries tbf

Jeff McManus

I just watched this video for the first time and it is an amazing time capsule of the early days of COVID. I think if thirty years from now I was trying to explain the year 2020 to someone, showing them this video would be very helpful.

Grace Acton

ok i'm a new patron so I'm just now watching this but maybe you'll see this?? But anyways, my friends and I live in the middle of nowhere so what we did during summer COVID times was drive to this dirt parking lot on our local military base, park our cars in a circle, and sit on top of our cars to hang out and have picnics. The cops did indeed show up once - not just regular police, but Military Police. The cop was very nice to us, he just seemed genuinely puzzled by this group of teenage girls sitting on top of cars in an empty lot. More creepy were the many truck drivers who decided to pull over to sleep in this one particular parking lot. we eventually stopped going to this particular parking lot after many older men in pickup trucks started yelling to us while they drove by - so, beware creepy men if you have a trunk picnic in weird deserted locations!

Lauren M

lol I subscribed here to have something to watch while I’m...sick in bed with covid so hearing you mention how much it sucks and not to get it was p funny. granted it took me a year to get it so i guess i had a pretty good run!!

AudreyDuck

Thanks for the tip about Children’s Fairyland! The last time I went I was probably 9 or 10. I knew I’d gotten too old for the park at that point, and was frankly mortified to be going, but my dad loved the park and took us all the time, and had been bugging me for months about going again. He realized his mistake immediately when we went inside and I was the oldest kid there. I still remember how sad he looked! I’d love to go back now that I’m no longer an angsty preteen.

.RAWRfile

Wait (now I haven't finished the video so idk if it's discussed) but what IS Jenny's favorite G-Fuel flavor? It's pertinent I know. For when she gets sponsored. So I can use code HORSEGIRL.

RinZombie

I wonder if the unboxing videos that go into crazy detail are meant for blind people?

stuffedchicken

You can really see where the madness had started to take her around the cheese board.

Wanessa Ribeiro

the unboxing videos with a lot of descriptions are for blind/low-vision people and also to help people in learning more descriptive words without realising, it's great if english is not your first language.
