Ramble: Corporate Pride Campaigns

Comments

Tzivia Kleinbart

Thank you for explaining what Disney keys are because I’ve been so confused

Zach Varnum

"A Table of Gay Stuff" is the title of MY concept album!

Cassidy Mahony

one time at red robins i was out with some very visibly gay friends (myself included) and the waitress said to us, "on behalf of red robins, happy pride month" and we all collectively awed before she walked away and it dawned on us "she doesn't say that to everybody..."

JG

Marines will get really annoyed if you call them soldiers or conflate them with the army, but I feel like it’s appropriate in this case lol

Anna Gae

"Rachel pride month" made me laugh but "Rachel seems great, power to Rachel I'm glad she feels accepted at chili's" completely took me out 😆 good for Rachel

Marie

Obviously late but just watched this vid and I’m not a plush collector but even if you don’t actively utilize them as such, they are intended to be snuggled/held/played with/comforting (and in other vids it’s clear Jenny does snuggle her plush). The keys are just an item with no intended usage. People collect lots of things that have an intended use — Christmas ornaments, pocketknives, enamel pins, juice glasses. Decor is also a purpose! But the keys don’t even seem to be intended as decor.

jamezilla

Wait... you don't have a landline?! If the power goes out, cell towers can go down, but a landline won't. It's also very cheap comparatively. We only have a cell phone because we won it.

MillieWays42

I think it's fair to be happy that youtubers you support in any way, even if not directly with money, care about your minority (wether they're in it or a well educated ally). I feel the same way! (I'm trans and Ace Aro)

Merrill O'Shaughnessy

It’s two years later but as a passionate fan of ice cream, I feel obligated to say that Ben & Jerry’s is the woke ice cream brand that you may be thinking of. In other news: corporations have started quietly pulling back on their pride collections over fear of stupid right wing boycotts. Stay in 2022, 2024 sucks too.

Thornsilver Hollysong

Two years later but "I love flipping Big Macs, and I'm trans" killed me. I'm trans and I'm going to start saying this about anything I do. XD

Ash Green

I found some gay marriage skeletons on throw pillows at Home Goods. There was one version with brides holding each other tenderly and the other with grooms. I got the brides, 10/10 gay spooky merch

Magistrissa

Cynicism aside, the fact that neopets consistently had asexual flags was pretty exciting for me, because you would not believe how hard it is to find anything with ace anything in it

notgerardway

im pretty sure most people dont have landlines anymore unless they already had them before they became obsolete so im not negating your point about being useful, thats honestly a good point if the area you live in has bad service or whatnot, im just kind of surprised that youre surprised lol. the only people i know who have landlines are older like my parents and grandparents.

jamezilla

They're not obsolete, for the above reasons. Not to mention, again, the many, many poor people who can't AFFORD even a cheap cell phone. Just because YOU don't know them doesn't mean they don't exist. I'm 38 and will ALWAYS make sure I have a landline.

Spliffy

Whenever anyone says "gay frog" I make fun of Alex Jones in my head.

Ontario Traffic Man

I don't have a landline and none of my friends do either. Yes a landline would be more reliable in an outage but I really can't justify the expense just for a situation that I have literally never experienced in my life

jamezilla

Deleted your newest one, Valentine. I guess you calmed down a little.

Narcissa Deville

Watching this in 2025 when basically no one is doing pride is depressing. Which like I get down with corpo pride it was only ever to make money anyway but it still sucks.

Maggy Symanski

i love serving bigmacs and im trans!!!!

Ginger Jones

Happy Rachel Pride Month 🌈💅

David Kal

Just watched this for the first time and it's sad and amazing how fall some corporations have fallen (looking at you Target) in response to pressure from fascists.

All I saw was the title of the video and was already laughing, this made my day, thank you!

Ivy Cass

Hey anyone else not able to hear anything? Or is it just me

Jordan Spencer

Also I do have sound idk what’s up w y’all’s

Brant

It says "content made for kids" ? Intentional?

Harry

No sound for me either

Luis

Heck yeah just got off work time to relax with a new ramble! Glad you're better I recently had a bout with covid and it's not fun!

Eleanor Robinson

I have sound in the browser but not in the YouTube app

Reese

Bigglesworth's backstory is wonderful. Glad you're feeling well enough to record and edit again!

nel

the bratz doll holding a sign that says ugh i can't even think straight...i NEED it

Rose Tyler

Very very very glad you are feeling better. Thanks for another fantastic ramble! :)

Michael R.

for the record, roxxi & nevra are existing bratz dolls & the official bratz instagram has explicitly said they were dating (the first mention of them being girlfriends was MONTHS before june) !! i loved bratz as a kid & when the listing for this set first went up i spent 30 minutes going over all the details and just absolutely crying my eyes out.

Wanessa Ribeiro

glad to hear you're better, my husband had covid in january and it was really bad, hope you are keeping hidrated and well rested, coconut water really helps with the "post" fase

Sara

For Jenny and anyone else curious, the Dutch oven from William Sonoma is so expensive because it is a Le Creuset brand Dutch oven. They are like one of the most premium high end cast iron companies. Their pots, generally, last multiple lifetimes. Many a western chef, at a home or professional level, will praise their quality and talk about them and all that

UK73

Sit with your feet in a bowl of food water - my method for cooling down.

UK73

*cold water. 😀

Rachel Adelson

Can we get a teespring printed shirt that says “I love selling Big Macs and I’m trans” in rainbow letters

Sgt Sweetcheeks

"I love serving big macs and I'm trans!" Is such an incredibly funny phrase that I, a trans person, want to quote to my friends and laugh about but the knowledge that they will not know I'm referencing a random Jenny Nicholson Patreon exclusive ramble will haunt me too much to do so

Sophie

jenny :)

Riley

i went to the converse store to buy plain white converse, but they were out, so i kind of just walked back to the front but picked up a pair of the pride shoes, and the employees standing there were like “the pride collection is so cool isn’t it?” and i got flustered cause i was going to leave and not buy them since i only wanted my white converse so i just nodded and then quietly put them down and left. i am gay but i felt like i was doing something homophobic.

Luis

This ramble was FABULOUS I give it a 10/10! Also can I change my name to flamboyant pancake?

Sara

Also, hell yeah Jenny. Love you calling out shoe companies on their sizing. I am AFAB, but I've always had a lot of trouble finding shoes my size until/unless I looked in the men's section. It works out for me because I'm mostly trans masc, but I totally feel for my big footed trans fem siblings since I struggled with not finding women's shoes in my size for years.

Riley

my mom thought commercials and magazines hired real families instead of singular models/actors to play a family until she was well into her 20s, so i hope she feels seen by targets pride collection.

Tony M Parker

Thank you for such great content on Youtube and Patreon. You've seriously made the past couple of years better.

Jackson

FUCK YEAHHH BIGGLE WAGGLE THE WAGGLE WORM IN THE HOUSE

SweetAlissum

I couldn't agree more about Boxlunch & Hot Topic's websites being unsearchable AND the stupid print on demand shirts making it impossible to order any shirts from them. I get so annoyed by it when I'm trying to see what new, non shirt products they have, especially because their pagination seems to break like, constantly.

Cabbage

Re: the bratz set, they're pre-existing characters! Nevra (fur coat) first came out in 2003 and Roxxi is one of the dolls in the very first Twiinz set (2004) as well as one of the stars of the Rock Angelz movie; they were confirmed as a canon couple in 2019 via social media but were first planned and prototyped as a pride 2-pack in 2016 that was meant to be sold on store shelves, but retailers didn't purchase stock so it was cancelled. The idea was brought back for the 2022 Bratz Collector Pride set in collaboration with fashion designer Jimmy Paul (hence the high price tag and the gigantic box). I do love them and I have 2 sets, but I do agree the price is a little high, especially considering the same company makes Rainbow High and they come with twice the level of detail for a 27$ playline price lol. They are online exclusives as well which definitely bothers me, I'm sure MGA tried to get them in stores (and to be fair, all of the recent Bratz Collector dolls have been online exclusives so it's not JUST them), but evidently not hard enough; they currently make two of the best selling doll lines on the market, I feel like they could have pressured retailers to put them on shelves, if only in a Pride display at Target or something. The Laverne Cox Barbie by Mattel is ALSO an online exclusive, sadly. I'm half-tempted to purchase both online and return them in-store just to increase the chance that a little kid will see them on a store shelf IRL. Hope you fully recover soon! <3

Jaz Mei Luo

Fantastic I'm on holiday in France and I'll download this for the bus ride to Normandy

E

Forever 21 doesn't surprise me. With their John 3:16 bags...

The Doom Merchant

lmao, the bit about McDonald's took me OUT, i had to pause and go back bc i couldn't hear the rest over my own laughing. 10/10 pride month content

Jill Morris

Oh man, if you ever want to talk about racism/sexism/homophobia in amusement parks, I have stories. So many stories. Oh, and Colour Pop's "Colour Shock" eye shadow is creamy, blends well, and is amazing.

Dash

Wingworm to Slurms Mackenzie?

Not the Ed Gein shoes oh my god

Re: Le Creuset, the $400 dutch oven -- it's a high end French brand designed to be legacy and that you can pass on to your kids but then they can pass it on again as well, like the quality is just so high that unless you're extremely reckless the enamel should never wear off (though if you get one with a light colored inner enamel, that one can have scorch marks over time). Compared to entry level cast iron brand Lodge which is like $50, Lodge is way heavier and has rougher edges because of the design process. Both should cook the same, but Le Creuset will be easier to maneuver because of the weight, and it'll also always be nonstick. That said, most people aren't buying legacy cast iron for future generations, so I only ever see this on like wedding registries when people want a massive upgrade to their current kitchenware. Comparable at a slightly cheaper range is Staub which I think is american made? They're like Le Creuset but with darker paint colors, and some of them come with black enameled insides which hide the burn marks. I think both are comparable but Le Creuset wins for being the lightest without sacrificing quality in the process.

Kaylie Stenberg

Really appreciating the Biggle Waggle lore

Jane Mahoney

honestly your timing for posting this couldn't have been better; I had a really rough day emotionally and this was such a nice little dose of levity to close it out on

David A Behlman

Yes, Ben and Jerry were pretty cool, though they did sell the company and it's now part of Unilever which of course is owned by various financial companies one of which is BlackRock. Anyway, not to get on a soapbox, but I wish it was easier to know where your money really goes. But I'm really just bitter that Unilever also bought Talenti and now my formerly favorite go-to mango sorbet is full of additives.

Ian Menard

The rainbow bullets on the helmet... it's literally that comic of the people crying because they're getting bombed by a woman instead of a man lol.

citrusm

coldstone is actually owned by doug ducey, who is the very conservative governor of arizona who has signed a few anti-lgbt bills into law. if you want to know how "woke" he is, look at the covid numbers in arizona through the course of the pandemic lol

Henri

Say what you will about the paltry Universal pride page... at least they didn't try to sell rainbow HP bullshit. It's the little things 🥲

h peets

jenny i would recommend getting a glitter primer for those colourpop shadows! that might be part of the issue you have with disliking them. nyx makes a really nice one and it’s super cheap too :)

Hibiscus Stitch

I actually appreciate the key lore because I always wondered what the heck was the deal with them. Also curse you, I want a squishmallow now.

sweet dee

just have to say cold stone is definitely NOT woke haha

Ham

Did you just coin "dormcore"? Well done.

Aaron Lutes

I was at your Vid Con panel, and i also assumed the alarm was maybe for a "person to flee from". Sad i didn't get to say hi, but it was a fun con and you and Lindsay had great insights.

Thread Bomb

I love the notion of a blood-free Jaws shark that definitely did not obtain its rainbow flag by eating a gay person.

Nikki Smith

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates Hot Topic’s website. It’s irritating to even attempt to navigate, and I still do it every year to find gifts for people. I wish they’d hire someone to fix it. At least to make the search better. Anyway, really appreciated this video. I think it’s a pretty fun, interesting topic, and I like that you made it about the products. Some of these collections surprised me with how big they are (Target), and some with how lazy (Colourpop, wtf. That rainbow pallet had a “best of 2021” label on it, so it wasn’t even from this year). Personally, as a bigger gal, I always find myself checking out Torrid’s Pride collection every year and always wanting something. This year my sister bought me a dress that’s literally just a rainbow, I feel like Rainbow Brite wearing it, and it’s my favorite piece of clothing now. Lol. Pride is absolutely being used by a lot of companies who don’t care about the LGBT+ community, and while that’s an important conversation, it is really nice to just be able to find things to celebrate Pride that would never have existed when I was a kid. Representation matters a lot. I hope you’re feeling better now! Had Covid for the first time a month ago and my god, I still feel like I’m getting over it. I hope you’ve fully recovered by now. :)

Liam Walter-Smith

Toy World here in Australia were selling officially-produced, rainbow coloured plushes of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. They weren't explicitly labelled as Pride products... but I can't think of any other reason for their existence.

Steve Ray

Those shoes *should* be honoring Ed Gein, given his groundbreaking work in raising awareness about how transphobia harms everyone, plus the need for medical professionals in gender-affirming care.

Steve Ray

Glitter primer to help it stick to your skin, like paint primer helps it stick to your car?

Ricm

The skittles campaign is always funny to me because I can't not read it as Skittles saying "Okay gays, you can have the rainbow for one month but it is ours and we're taking it back in July"

Phillip Weis

I don’t like the idea that anything less than complete, enthusiastic, agreement with any agenda will bring wrath down upon you. It’s a very dangerous precedent for the future.

PamperYamper

Ha, this one is funny. Micheal's is great for Halloween stuff, too.

IndigoRen

It's good and I hope they'll be cowed even more in the future.

emchovy

Watched this w/ my roommate (we're both LGBT) and we kept making jokes about the percentages of gay people in Jenny's audience. I think at the end we got up to 95.

Pocket & Locket

I’m surprised those strange pride oreos didn’t make an appearance 🥲

Pocket & Locket

also idk about all zoomers, but most of the college students i know love tie dye! i was surprised tbh but i see so much tie dye on campus

Maddy

This was really cool, I liked seeing all the different attempts at rainbow-washing across different types of brands. Also, Jenny, as a heads up, a few of the pages you opened have your shipping zip code on them (I noticed it first on the Petco site when you looked at the guinea pig bandanna). I don't know if that's OK with you since it's Patreon only, but I wanted to give you a heads up.

Zoë Barham

I’m glad I’m not the only one frustrated with the Sega Shop/Hot Topic/BoxLunch print-on-demand nonsense. I love the designs of the shirts I’ve gotten from Sega, but they’re expensive for what they are, and the Shadow shirt that I got from there has cracked in the wash so badly that it’s unrecognizable. I also think Sega should do a Pride collection. I want a Sonic and Shadow mug, dammit.

Winona Honey

the validation i felt when Jenny said the transgender uggs were the cutest bc I immediately bought the slippers + platform ones the second I saw them online. best purchase I've ever made, they are so comfortable and go with a surprising amount of outfits

run_away

The corporitization of pride is always an interesting question. Pride started as both a political movement but also as a corporate one-- specifically, when gay bars boycotted beer brands and basically financially beat them into submission, forcing them to publicly support pride events. Part of the reason why absolut vodka was such an early and persistent presence at Pride.

Ilana Galpert

thank you for working in adverse conditions on our behalf

run_away

Also, just to be clear, what I mean by that is that the beer boycotts started either simultaneous to or after the Stonewall riots. The riots were spearheaded by black trans women, mostly of color and many of whom were sex workers, who were tired of being assaulted and raided by police. The beer/liquor boycotts were a separate thing. And many of the people who organized the boycotts were people who expressed racism, transphobia, and classism as well, which are still entrenched in lgbt culture today. Very complex topic.

Aletheia

ThE gAY aGEndUh!!!!!11!! Imagine thinking people just wanting to live their lives in peace is some kind of plot against you. Fuck off.

B Hair

1:34:08 🥲 thank you

Haley Bedell

I’m glad you covered colourpop, i was a huge supporter of them forever but recently their eyeshadows have been super disappointing and half of my pans just pop out of the case and i was so disappointed by the “pride” collection i’ve pretty much stopped buying from them

Mister Dole

That makes me sad. I guess the only socially responsible ice cream is the one I make myself.

Ino

Now I’m hoping to see a high quality Halloween housewares ramble

Marcus

big fan of Biggle Waggle, whatta legend

John Peacock

I loved the comment that 'That's not really how the Ramble works' So good

Anna O.

I was at Shopper's back in June and they had some Pride-themed stuff, mostly from their store brand. But it's like, oh, look, rainbow eyeshadow and rainbow makeup sponges. It's fine, I guess, but it felt kind of lazy, since eyeshadow palettes already come in rainbow shades and makeup sponges get gross quickly.

Lilium

On the topic of gay eyeshadow - Pat McGrath labs stuff is expensive, but worth it if you can budget for it. Also wanted to tell someone, anyone, that H&M has been impressing me with their non-binary section and selection! Idk if they're making up for something terrible they've done, but I haven't seen anyone else put that much effort into genuine-seeming inclusivity.

Amber

lt might just have been me but I feel like little baby gay girls preferred Bratz to Barbie, because there was such a big focus on the friendships between the girls rather than the Barbie/Ken thing. Bratz was basically my only femme interest as a little kid, lmao.

shai

i love bigglewaggle <3

Lindsay

It’s been a full day since I’ve seen this video and I can’t stop thinking about that beautiful squishmallow

Markus D

I never liked how Bratz looked (huge eyes and lips, basically no nose) but I always appreciated them for being a lot more inclusive than something like Barbie. They were definitely a lot more aware/caring of the idea of "girls like dolls that look like them" instead of making them choose from a variety of mostly the same blonde white lady. I don't understand the Ugg fluffy sandals. Like, the suede boots you could spray with waterproof coating but wouldn't you have to constantly brush out your sandals?

Dee Crosier

Glad you’re feeling better now, and thank you for soldiering through this video! The tangents were fun too, so I’m glad you kept them in. :) As a large-ish man who likes female pop-culture characters (and the colour pink/purple), it bugs me that a lot of best/cutest designs are only available on clothing in smaller sizes and/or stereotypically “feminine” shapes, so I did cheer a little when you touched on that topic. Also, a couple of my fave comedians post short skits on TikTok, so I’d never bad-mouth it… even if I do wish they’d post longer content on YouTube instead!

Alex Andra

I was going to ask what food water was lol

Paul Cassella

On colorpop just using existing products, opens new page Jenny: "Oh, this is horse-" me: That's a strong reaction. Jenny: "-themed" me: Oh.

Alex Andra

I lived in Arizona for 18 years and this comment is how I found out that 1) coldstone is an Arizonan company and 2) Doug ducey was president of it. Horrible news, thanks for sharing

Rachel Cook

We also had Covid on the 4th of July. Glad you are better!

Jeremie

The cliffhanger is almost unbearable. I can’t wait for the next video to learn if the Butterfly Squishmallow has joined the collection. (Also I want a nuiMO now… 😕)

Lenimph

Did you put out the sapphic Princess and pauper Barbies out on purpose. Because if so I see you and appreciate you.

Elizabeth Farmer

showing up to the tournament w my homosexual kissing cards

Jeremie

Staub is also French! They’re comparable brands but le Creuset seems to be more well known internationally and they have brand partnerships and fun colors.

Tiffany Moton

can anybody tell me what she is saying at the end about going somewhere? where did she was going I couldn’t understand lol

Devin M

I did not pay attention to any pride campaigns this year so I am VERY excited to watch this. Update: If I was 12/13 years old I would absolutely be collecting Disney keys.

Spublii

Gnome Goods

Spublii

The Bratz Pride dolls were really just for the collectors. That's the market Bratz currently is focused on. They re-release a lot of old doll lines. The two pride dolls are new releases, but the characters (Roxxi and Nevra) already existed. They are now officially gay, which is cool! (I am said collector, but they didn't release them where I live :( )

Nea Politan

Chilis was really like congratulations homosexuals there is one of you among us

TalysAlankil

oh good now i know what's up with the keys, you got a key for free per X amount you spent during pride so i got a bunch for free and i was like…what is this

Justin Hill

"$400 for a pot?" -attitude is why they don't make em like they used to.

Dylan O Sporrer

As an MTG player, I'm bummed how quickly Jenny moved on from the Pride Secret Lair but I am happy she mentioned it at all.

Dylan O Sporrer

One day the Pro Tour Top8 will be 1 Dredge deck and 7 Homosexual Kissing decks. And what a glorious day it will be.

Casey 💖

BUY THAT COLOURPOP HORSE PALLET JENNY! I have it and love it, highly recommended. It was a great collection with amazing face glitters!

ts_babyjane

lold at the "I thought coldstone creamery would be woke, idk why" for whatever reason, i remember seeing on twitter that the CEO of Ben&Jerry's was at the BLM protests and they were like "Corporations, this is how you do it! look at this CEO!" and that lives in my brain lmao

Petie

Glad you felt well enough to produce the video! Thanks Jenny. :D

Celtie

I love guinea pigs! It’s so rad to hear someone else praise them, they are the best kid pet. People have told me they are the ‘weird kid’ animal 😞, but my childhood pets Ginny, Mo and Toby were the greatest sweet piggies.

Jiminy’s Journal

I think Pokémon does have a Pride collection; it’s just very bland.

Devin M

Efteling is an amusement park in the Netherlands.

Magical Girl Mel

I'm with you on the keys being dumb, especially since I am a Kingdom Hearts player. The Keyblades that are based off of Disney worlds can be so creative in that game and looking at a lineup of the keys Disney sells, it's so obviously the same base with a few accents glued on.

Jiminy’s Journal

It is my understanding that skateboarding has a huge Sapphic following.

Iberian Princess

The demonetization on YT vids is weird. Seems like every video gets a claim no matter what it contains. What a PITA for creators who then need to appeal every time because some douche canoe makes a claim. YT really needs to get this fixed, but since there are basically no other popular platforms, it is not happening.

Monica McFadden

Wow you covered so many collections, great video! I never knew about the Disney key thing at the Disney stores, that's such a cute and whimsical idea.

run_away

When I saw your comment I searched 'sonic and shadow mug' on etsy just out of curiosity... I didn't find a mug but I did find multiple sippy cups and one custom embroidery ring of Shadow the Hedgehog saying "NICE COCK"

HikinginOrange

I'm a cis guy, but I honestly really liked that blue target button up shirt and bought it a few weeks back. Unfortunately I returned it not long after since I didn't feel it was looking that well on me (also wasn't into the sparkly buttons, which I only noticed after purchase).

Lindsey Keefer

This was so fun to watch. I kinda want the lesbian Bratz doll & lesbian converse lol. I wish someone just made nice striped sweaters in the flag colors. Also — I want to see your fish bag!

Narissa de Bruin

On the Bratz pride dolls, at the moment Bratz is basically exclusively targeting adult collectors. All of the brand new dolls have been collabs with designer brands and very expensive compared to what other doll lines are producing. The other dolls they are producing are reproductions of old lines like Rock Angelz. For example the new Bratz x GCDS dolls are AUD99 for 1 outfit and a couple accessories while a Rainbow High Doll is AUD50 for 2 outfits. The doll collecting twitter circles I see seemed to be quite lukewarm on the pride dolls, so I'm not even sure how successful they've been at targeting the adult collectors anyways!

Hi Jenny! You are my favorite YouTuber and I eagerly await your uploads. It would mean a lot to me if you looked into the origins of the word "lame" and perspectives from the disabled community. I have also used it a lot and am trying to cut back as I learn better. Thanks for all you do!

Dan Gibbins

Glad you're feeling better, sad that the COVID medicine you took seemed like... bad medicine? Insufficient medicine? While the Biggle Wiggle story scratched that "plush stories" itch a bunch of us seem to have, the Disney Key tangent reminded me of the plight of the Disney Store in my city. My friend worked at a travel agency across the hall from them, and reported this. Management was hard and fast on needing to do the key ritual every morning, to the point where staff were not allowed to open the store without doing it, but on a Tuesday in November there might not be any kids hanging around a mall at 9 AM. So on multiple occasions the travel agents had to come over and do the key ritual so the poor Disney Store staff could open the shop. Drains the magic from the Disney Keys, which had little to offer as is. I recently bought Disney pins but mostly so that Wendy from Peter Pan could be planting a kiss on a shocked Beaker from the Muppet Show, no regrets, that tableau lives in my office.

Dan Gibbins

Oh also a congrats on the Hallmark video, my favourite video on the internet (probably including stuff I did), hitting 2 million views! It earned all that and more.

Rushka Unverricht

Cool to see the little Duo plush (and Biggle Waggle)! Many are the times I've had to translate "Duo, are you wearing socks?" or "Duo, why are you in the cupboard?" into French lol.

Ash Gabrielle

Thanks for sharing that link! It was a good read.

Thread Bomb

I don't see how using the word 'lame' makes anyone's life worse.

UK73

Amazon Fire tablets don't just auto correct, they auto replace. Most frustrating at times. :D

Victoria Blake

This might be a dumb question (I'm not super familiar with how vidcon works) but is there any way for us to catch your panel after the fact?

Scott Christian Simmons

Very interesting! I think Jenny's absolutely right about how her videos are consumed, at least from my personal POV. I put them on and enjoy them as background while I do other things. That's just not something you can do with five minute, or thirty second, videos. That said, I don't usually watch the whole thing at once--I think I'm still only about twenty minutes into this one LOL.

Scott Christian Simmons

Oh, yeah, and the only thing I have to say about the other interviewees, is that I've never heard of Kevin Perjurer, but he sounds unreliable. #dadjokes

Tori

I love that pin idea.

Derick Gadd

I also got covid last month! 2 years after the first time.. gotta say, it was WAY less bad this time with 3 shots vs last time with 0.. last time I was basically hallucinating for a week, this time I had sniffles.. 😂

Luis Perales

A anyone else unable to play this video. I keep getting an error message. I have no problem with other videos though :/

Derick Gadd

I wish you had scrolled down to see the art on the magic cards.. they took existing cards and redid the art with LGBT themes. One of the cards they chose was "Bearscape", which originally portrayed a landscape of bears (animal type) but now portrays a landscape full of bears (big sexy men type) lounging around in a hotspring 😂 The other cards mostly just featured canonically LGBT characters in moments of triumph and romance.. shoutout to mtg for having a canonically trans character in 2015, long before most games did!

Michael

Glad you’re feeling better

Penguin Gabe

Anyone else not able to watch due to youtube showing an error? In both patreon or safari it doesnt work bizarrely

Audrey

WAIT BUT THE MARINE HELMET ONE IS HILARIOUS ON ANOTHER LEVEL. Ok so first of all, having rainbow bullets itself as a symbol of Pride and love is so tacky it looks like parody, but also I mistook those bullets for Crayons, they look so much like Crayons. And there is a very common joke among service members that Marines love eating Crayons, because they're so dim-witted, lol.

Anna Hisse

The main difference between Staub and Le Creuset (apart from 100€/$) is that Le Creuset has a life-warranty while Staub has not.

Nawnii

I didnt get to go to vidcon cause i ended up moving, but i want you to know i bought you a butterfly squishmallow clip that i intended to give you! i love that you are also obsessed with squish, i love them too

Natalie Arnold

De Efteling is a theme park in NL. Never been but what I've heard of it sounds right up Jenny's interests!

Anna Mott

Efteling. It's a theme park in the Netherlands based around fantasy and fairytales. She's talked about going in previous videos, and it definitely looks interesting!

Anna Mott

Thrilled that Rachel is being recognized

xandala117

I hope you got lots of rest and feel better. Covid sucks.

Alvaro Becker

"Is there like a high popularity of skateboarding in LGBT communities?" Well, there is Sk8 the Infinity

Petie

Is it terrible that my google search history now has "Disney key party" in it? (No one is going to ask, but it's because i thought it would be a hilarious Jeopardy answer that would never appear on the show.) (Ok, well also puns.)

Paul Martens

So cool that you're visiting De Efteling soon! I grew up near it, so I went a lot as a kid. Het Spookslot (The Haunted Castle) has always been my favorite attraction, and I'm gutted that they're tearing it down this Summer. I hope you visit it, and if you do, try to open the door at the very start of the waiting area entrance. It kinda looks like an employee only door, but it has an easter egg. Nowadays everyone just walks past it, sadly. :-)

Bison

YouTube is telling me this video is "Made for Kids" 🤔

Totesnotasheep

Why is the Disney pride cat scratcher $40??? For something that the cat is meant to tear up????

Adrienne R

I feel like hottest take in the video is saying that shopping for watches is for people over the age of eighty 😂 some people just got dragged

Parker Kerrigan

The bratz dolls are supposed to be canonically a lesbian and bisexual who are dating but they included all those pins bc i guess...they didnt realize people usually wear pins to mark their own identities? that would be my only critique of the dolls i personally love them and love how they look on my shelf. besides its actually kinda amusing that the characters are implied to be trans and intersex due to the buttons, Accidental Representation yknow.

Parker Kerrigan

also unfortunately 80 bucks is currently a reasonable price for collector dolls. monster high and rainbow high are putting out 80 dollar collector sets with one doll in it at the moment (with the rainbow high ones not even being high quality!!). i agree that at first glance its a lot of money but for doll collecting in 2022 its not anything surprising.

Markus D

I'm a gay and trans and JUST fit into the category of millennial and I want to say that I think real-life frogs are cute, but I don't like that cartoon style of frogs that the Build-a-Bear and Squishmallows have. I don't know why exactly, but I don't like how the eyes are separated from the face.

Dundough Breadbox

Liked the breakdown of each site on how they treated Pride.

BROGGGGGY

she had to put a lot of restrictions on the ramble videos account so they couldnt get shared around to non patrons

BROGGGGGY

That colourpop pallet is not pride exclusive or even repackaged, it actually came out like last year, they're just promoting it for june since it is their big rainbow pallet and the banner was saying the proceeds until a certain date would go to charity but yeah its super lame they didnt come out with anything new and that they just threw a bunch of random stuff on that one tab

Shaun Cheah

Lindsay Ellis vs ContraPoints produced some pretty ethical beef.

Markus D

WHY ARE YOU HERE!?

Markus D

I think there are MORE ethical beef production, like better farming practices, but I think that the only totally ethical meat would be like... lab-cloned. Which I'm all for, by the way.

Markus D

Eeeewwww....

Markus D

Ugh, I'm the opposite. I'm a short trans guy and I can barely ever actually buy men's shoes because I would need like...a size 6 when they usually start at 8 or something.

Sara

Nooooo I'm so sorry to hear that man!

MW

"i love serving big macs and i'm trans" made me snort

Andrew Hill

I am with you, Jenny University I hear and adore you, you are cherished. If the person who nominated best/worst Qualities Of Plush keeps nominating it will split my vote tho what a fine topic so full of interesting metrics.

Bear

The Pride Mickey plush looks like it's about to ask me if I wanna see its head come off.

Gian Balangue

Postmates' "bottom-friendly menu" campaign this year was absolutely top-tier. I ascended to the astral plane when I realized the peach was wearing a jockstrap.

Jaz Mei Luo

My addled brain thought you were going to say you are gay and trans and like serving big Macs

Maddy

the absolute trip i just went through seeing jenny's fairytopia desktop background bc it's the exact same as my desktop background

Scarlett Dale Woodall

Great vid! I feel like the Pixar shirt is a shareholder seller. No functioning person likes companies. But as my father always says,CEOs don't think like people.

The Wizard Sprinkle

the fact that fossil had a page called “the strap shop” tells me there were no queer employees with decisionmaking power on this campaign

Kage Edgar

I know you’re not going to see this but I’m kind of disappointed that the Patreon money I and many other people pay you didn’t go toward buying that Squishmallow

James Acosta

hope you are feeling better!

Jerika

Ask disabled people who are hurt by the word "lame", many of them talk about it all the time and there are plenty of them pleading to stop using it on the Internet. On the other hand, using the word 'lame' as an insult doesn't make anyone's life better.

Kathryn Evans

Lol weird, she can use the money she earns however she wants to

Gleren37

It's never occured to me you could just eat celery like that. Maybe I'll try it sometimes with hummus or something...

Gary

Ugg can burn in hell. They stole an Australian icon. They are also abusing trademark laws to screw over small Australian companies. Ugg is one of the most hated companies in Australia.

Evan Linden

As a bi non-binary person who is also sick (bad flu not COVID) this made my day. Glad you're feeling better

AJ Snyder

Oh, please, you're reaching now. Lame doesn't have to do anything with disabled people in the concept of "something being lame" i.e. a piece of clothing you don't like.

Narcissa Deville

I will say as a lesbian myself who is a femme I can tell you the way those Bratz dolls are dressed is just femme attire

Eleanor Woods

I came back from Disneyland 2 days ago: they have an Orange Bird nuiMO and he's very cute but very expensive

Saracha

I don't know if anyone will care about this, but I play Magic and I would highly encourage anyone to go look at the (Pride specific) "Sol Ring" art in greater detail because it's filled with references to pride, Stonewall, and queer history. The artist did a phenomenal job with it.

Travis Jackson

"Here at McDonald's we found a home!" 😆

Wild Wesley

I’m glad you took shoe sizes into account because even as a tall, big footed AFAB person I struggle to find shoes marketed towards women that include my size, and I assume it’s just as difficult for big footed, AMAB people who want feminine coded shoes as well.

JoAnna Black

Very late to the game here but colour pop's super shock shadows are where it's at. Don't get the pallettes of normal shadows. The ones in the individual pots are a cream formula and they're so good!!

Maleah Lock

Usanians: Ugg doesn't have recognisable branding. . . The rest of the world: Thieves!

WhatAlsaid!

Hey, Jenny. On the topic of the Pride Bratz dolls and why they're so expensive. It's because Bratz has shifted 100% of their efforts into being catered specifically to adult collectors, or more specifically, the people who were kids when Bratz first came out that are now adults. If you walk down any doll aisle in any store, you'll notice that Bratz dolls aren't really sold there anymore, and have been replaced with stuff like Monster High, Rainbow High, LOL Surprise.

Redfalconfox

Jenny is just using that rainbow inch worm for Pride Points(tm), she doesn't actually care about its rights and still donates to politicians who campaign against the LGBT. (I don't really comment on patreon, do I need the /s?)

pegsies

interesting! im in australia and i did not know about this!

pegsies

WHAT!!! CELERY AND DIP IS TOP OF THE ICONIC SNACK TIER LIST, at every hangout for kids i was given hummus and carrots/celery. it may have influenced my like for celery as an adult. also, unrelated, but cherry/grape tomatos and hummus is amazing. you get a lil pop of tomato, with the flavor of hummus, its wonderful.

pegsies

JAKSBDJNR YES i thought it was a pun, but when jenny explained their audience i realized they just dont know queer, or even explorative sex terms lol

pegsies

skateboarding and all forms of rolling transport?? i have a ton of bi and sapphic friends that have skates, or do ice skating regularly, or pay to go to roller rinks, even in clubs at uni. its so weird to see dudebro, skateboard teenage boys hanging in the same park as uni aged gays. i do like that skateboard boys wearing axe body spray are now discussing trans issues while listening to drake, a nice change of pace.

pegsies

i did an animal care course in high school, and the pig moms we treated were the sweetest, most defensive lil moms on earth. i loved them, and their lil babies were so sweet to hold. guinea pigs are inSANELY underrated.

pegsies

im not very well versed in patreon comment etiquette, but ajkdbjdf i loved this! i was very hesitant to watch rambles, because i love every single jenny video and i didnt know whether the rambles lived up to them, but they do!! and as a gay, whose favorite youtuber is jenny, it definitely felt amazing seeing how well versed she is in queer culture?? idk jennys sexuality or gender, but seeing her care about trans shoe size issues, or actively know about ethics debates felt so nice! shes always been very subtly supportive of everything i like in her vids, but this just proved im doing the right thing by giving her my money. she deserves it with how often i watch her videos and talk about her! edit: i think its important to mention its not some weird parasocial thing, im just poor so id feel gross if i was paying money i could be saving to someone that wouldnt accept me in their community?? idk if that makes sense.

Gleren37

Well, here's even more culinary inspiration, cheers.

Jiminy’s Journal

Please. Let's keep Drake out of this. Both of them. 😬

Gary

Google it. It was in the news a few years ago...the legal costs destroyed the Australian firm that had been manufacturing them for years.
