just happened to open patreon the moment this was posted lol

Deanna

Evermore video 3: the return of the queen

Hazel Singh

So excited! Stayed away from all Evermore news waiting to see if you would talk about it again.

Justin

We now have an entire American work day of Evermore audio.

Grerutin

<3 I’ve been opening the Patreon app every few minutes for the past half hour; my senses were tingling, I could FEEL the ramble coming

viruviruviru

HELP I LITERALLY JUST OPENED THE PATREON APP TO SEE IF THIS WAS OUT

Ishaan Sahai

Oh my god that’s 8 hours of Evermore

Katherine Allen

At this point, Jenny’s made enough people so deeply invested in Evermore that if the park was even like, a LITTLE BIT DECENT, the park now has a large and loyal enough fandom to keep them alive. But they’re literally so bad that even this incredible, life changing opportunity was completely wasted 💀

Erik Stevenson

I was a bit concerned when voting that there wouldn't be too much more you really had to say about Evermore, but now seeing the 2.5 hour runtime for this 'ramble' I realize I owe you an apology. I wasn't really familiar with your game.

TJ Westen

2.5 hours more about Evermore? This patreon continues to be my most valuable subscription

Audrey K

jenny i love you so much<3

Sarahodo

Fantastic headband 👻👻👻

Moomin8577

I feel like you’ve put more effort into Evermore than Ken Bretschneider ever did.

shmemmali

omg..... Evermore (the Taylor Swift cover of the Jenny Nicholson bop) was playing in the grocery store this evening so I got very nostalgic about the original Evermore video and was craving a rewatch. Thank you for this fresh content 💌💌💌

Kimberly J

The feeling when I see a new ramble drop right as I'm plugging my phone as I go to bed AND it's about Evermore.

Ryan Kearns

A ghost ?? 😱 *screams*

Mak

was the ghost headband made in-house or sourced directly from a European graveyard

Jenny Nicholson

Thank you I love it so much, I bought it secondhand which I wouldn't normally do with hair stuff but I think it's handmade

Matt Grippi

I went back to Marine World/Discovery Kingdom in early 2009 and it was horrifying. They still had some animals and they all looked like they were dying. You’d see an otter in a dirty tank directly under the Medusa roller coaster. I think they had dolphins at that place! Just in a hot six flags

Joe Bloe

I saw this and thought it must be a reupload. But no. It's EverMORE.

gabstar

oooog I am so EXCITED

Sarah Weyand

Listening now as a local to SLC and this is so good. I love following the Evermore saga as someone who has been to the park during Lore without knowing what it was and being sorely disappointed. I will say that SLC has a surprisingly super solid haunted house scene (Nightmare on 13th, Fear Factory, Castle of Chaos, many more) that have bungee actors, running water, animatronics, etc., but there's no way Evermore would hold up to those at all. My husband and I were walking through the crypt before it got closed off for the scare maze and there was so much fog accidentally pumped into there that we were coughing and gagging and lost for a long time before we made our way out.

Eric MacMillan

No better way to end a Monday then a new ramble, thanks Jenny!

Jenny Nicholson

Yeah last time I went they still had dolphins, but that was also crazy because the dolphin area was the former orca enclosure - so it was even weirder thinking of whales in that tiny tank. And their last whale lived for a long time all alone with no orca companionship (last I heard she's at a Sea World so at least she eventually saw other whales)

Will V

I want to watch a FNaF video

man mann

Wake up babe a new episode in the Evermore Saga just dropped

reagan

JENNY THANK YOUUUU

Madeleine

Yay!!! We love to see it!

Gina Pasquinelli

The annual pass pricing is shocking lololol. I used to work at The Winchester Mystery House and we sold annual passes for $70 if I remember correctly. I think if you went twice in one year it would be a good deal but I was always shocked when some bought one.

Billy Campelo

I just renewed my annual pass for Universal Orlando and with sales tax it was the same price as the Evermore annual pass which is insane. The universal pass is two theme parks, no block out dates and discounts for food and merch.

Billy Campelo

Oh and it was for 15 months this year instead of 12

sam batty

The ghost skull story has me dying

Kiana Leong

omg bay area queen 🙏🏼

sam batty

The borderline rude pr is definitely some poor college student trying to imitate the duolingo style

Blastoise_M

I just finished playing games with friends, then thought to myself "now what am I gonna do", and then the patreon notification went off. perfect timing, thank you Jenny! EDIT: also just a heads up, you forgot to disable comments on the youtube video, it looks like

fperrytheplatypus

The joy i get seeing a new evermore video from you is unmatched in the modern era

Jenny Nicholson

Thanks! I left it open in case I needed to add followup info myself but it's set to hold for review so none will make it through

Bob at Evermore

i have worked at evermore and still go to evermore park almost every time that it is open and i always look forward to and dread these videos. and in this one, once again, a lot of the stuff that jenny said, i found myself being like, "yeah! that's a good point!" if there's any common mistake in these videos, it's just that she gives evermore too much credit sometimes. like when she questions "i do not know why they would do that, or what their thought process was here." the answer is always "neither do they". the assumption that they are thinking about any of this at all and making deliberate decisions about the topics that she is bringing up is very unlikely to be true. they are not proactive about the things that they do; they are rarely even reactive. they just try things seemingly at random, and keep them or drop them with no statistical correlation to its success or failure. there are things that they do that work very well that they inexplicably stop. and there's things that are hated where they close their eyes and move forward with. evermore just is. this is not a defense of the park in any way.

Christine Govas-Robert

I'm now picturing an alternate timeline in which Evermore partners with Kanye. The first of every month is the Taylor Swift effigy burning.

Fifi

The beldam is the sort of unofficial name for the Other Mother from Coraline (she was called that a couple times and I think fans decided that was her true name) And I’m not convinced they aren’t directly lifting that name from Coraline for their spooky skull ghost story

JG

Beldum is also a pokemon :)

Alice Becker

That business about the annual pass is BONKERS. Just... wild, wild stuff. It honestly feels like there was no research done on how similar/competitive businesses operate.

B Hair

2+ hours 🥹 wooooo!!!

Geoffrey Cline

I have watched 8+ hours of content about a theme park and i'm not even that interested in theme parks.

six triceratops

Just waiting until we learn Ken Bretschneider has placed a hit out on Jenny at this point good gracious.

WGM

That Q&A really goes places I did not expect

Jenny Nicholson

What if the lawsuit was a last ditch bid to impress kanye

Matt Reynolds

The Evermore trilogy might now be my favourite on screen trilogy.

Max Falkowitz

Jenny has an Evermore stringer reporter. She's better equipped than the newspaper.

evergreen

bob is here... somewhere....

Kat Black

I must know the origin of this headband

Kat Black

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Brian Tatosky

I think devoting a bit of time as a rebuttal to that weird and bad live social stream wasn't bad at all.

Preston Do

I am 100% sure that was not Kanye

S.R. Harper

🫠Evermore videos give me SUCH secondhand embarrassment. I am addicted but also so very aware of my small town theatre roots 🫣

Alissa

hi bob

hannah

when i tell you that Q&A just took the wind out of me --

Moczydlowski

This was a level of Tea that I was not expecting to see today. Thanks for the vid. I sort of feel like the video you showed of the live feed is going to be used as evidence in a lawsuit at some point. The woman in the striped shirt straight-up admits that employees have PTSD from all of the assault they're subjected to while at the park. Also, Hi Bob!

Hazel Singh

The fact that the annual pass is close to the price of a Disney annual pass is crazy! Those two experiences are not comparable!

Eric Williams

I love the Evermore videos but fear more exposure to “Conflict in the Ruins.” If there is a PTSD disorder except from cringe, I have it.

Richelle Olsen

you should check out Wizard Quest in the wisconsin dells! it is magiquest on steroids. they just built a new space, which i haven’t been to yet. but it was amazing and now looks even better

Anya

This video was absolutely incredible. between the absurd q&a, annual pass shenigans, and ye rumors, truly a worthy send-off to this cursed park. if you don't care about five nights at Freddie's outside the movie I would love an old-school movie review (but your opinion on the series as a whole would also be interesting)

Elisha Summers

(in a Randy Moore voice): 0 days without being sued by Evermore

Joel Eblin

I just want to point out that at 53:00, on the webpage for the ghost tour, that's just a silhouette of the Snapchat ghost.

Jenny Nicholson

It's on my list! Along with the Epic campus around there, but idk when I'll ever make it out

Lunden Anderson

back in june my manager and his gf went to evermore for her birthday and it took so much willpower to not mention the evermore video or really just anything about evermore in general

Emma Dewil

the part where jenny realized bob was going to be watching her react to him reacting to her is MY convergence

Andrew Hill

Lmfao the new disguise... 🌳🌳🌳🌲

AKL

Tori Rittenger

I gasped out loud when I saw it was another Evermore video, it’s the train wreck that just keeps giving and never disappoints. 😂 I also would LOVE a 5 Nights at Freddy’s vid.

Madhavi Baiju

I'm so glad we're all trying to find bob lol

Birthe_bird

Evermore is just the gift that keeps on giving

Katrina Kaufman

Yesssss, I had been wanting this to win SO MUCH. It's incredible to me that with every new Evermore video, I find more things to be horrified by. That Q&A session was PAINFUL, and I cannot understand how she had no prep for what is basically a PR interview. At least, I hope she had no prep because I refuse to believe that anyone could give the worst possible answers to every question if they had been in any way prepared. (Also I agree that part of the reason why Evermore refused to officially announce closing was due to monetary issues, but I would bet that an even bigger reason is Ken's ego. He is definitely the sort of person that would never admit to ever doing anything wrong or failing in any way.)

zakesters

It's just a traditional epithet for a witch: it's centuries old. I used to think it was merely ironic ("beautiful lady,") but later learned it began as an affectionate address for one's grandmother. (This doesn't mean the people at the park *weren't*, in their minds, lifting it from some popular media that has also used the word.) Anyway, what I'm not clear on is whether you use it for *all* witches, or if other witches use it to their, like, head witch, or whatever, which is the way I've generally encountered it being used in old texts.

Janelle Rose

Ngl if meow wolf, magic quest, or Brando Sando managed to salvage something from the park & integrate it into their brand that would kinda own. And I’ve never read a Sanderson book. I also doubt meow wolf wants it but. A girl can dream

Lou Yang

The audio drama ending also sounds so much like the Magnus archives ending?? I wouldn't be shocked at them lifting ideas from other popular IPs to cobble together story

Janelle Rose

Also I’d be interested in a FNAF video! if you’re feeling dispirited abt the Star cruiser video I do think maybe diverting into something a lot lower stakes might be a good change of pace ykwim

DiscoDame

Just got the the Beldam part of the video with the skull fence. Is he combining Beldam with Baba Yaga's skull fence/hut? I feel like he is just mashing stories together.

Dean Morgan Camp

The Meow Wolf rumor is fascinating to me and I'd be shocked if it was anything but wishful thinking. You're absolutely right that Evermore is way off-brand for them. Meow Wolf always collaborates with local artists on the core design of each installation, and always builds in big destination cities (or popular touristy suburbs of big destination cities). And though the installations are all unique, they're similar enough in genre and style to include easter egg references to each other (e.g. Convergence Station includes a kiosk that displays Omega Mart products) and I kinda suspect that there might be actual narrative throughlines between them all. I can't even imagine what they'd do with an extant medieval fantasy park in (I'm sorry) a nowhere town like Pleasant Grove.

Kieu

Your evermore videos are like going through a rotten onion, each layer is just more rotten than the last but I can't stop looking at it... also hi Bob!

Sajan Ramanathan

I just feel like it should be emphasized again: a management level official of this park said that 85% of employees had been harassed, and that there is a harassment incident every single weekend that the park is open. Like what the actual fuck. I legitimately think this park should be shut down by the government. It's clearly unsafe for workers, and is arguably defrauding customers with its marketing.

Juleshortstuff

I hope Evermore Bob is as jump scared by the shoutout in this video as Jenny was from him mentioning her in the Q&A. also yes please to the FNAF video!

Eva Thurston

I almost can't believe that the staff were so blasé about so much information. I hope that they deal with these issues or stop putting their actors in such perilous positions. I do hope you do the FNAF movie video, it was so weird and I'm so curious what you have to say about it!

kduds

Omfg I rewatched the whole Evermore saga this past weekend + did a lil digging into the current state of affairs. Everything made me think "wow I hope Jenny covers this" lol. This is so perfect and timely, thank you!!

Madhavi Baiju

Oh my god PLEASE do a FNAF video :o That would be the best thing!!

Katherine Robinson

I love that there's ALWAYS more Evermore tea to spill. FNAF video sounds awesome!! I love the long super polished deep dive videos, but the more casual goofy stuff à la the Jurassic World video is so fun! Especially if you're feeling burned out on the Starcruiser it might be a nice change of pace.

Jennifer W

dying at Jenny just casually throwing out a story about Kanye West eating BBQ behind her Disneyland petting farm away from prying eyes

Saacool

Hi bob cant wait to see you post a response to both evermore and jennys subreddits

Ted Koutz

Did they stumble onto a business model that caters to guys who behave inappropriately at Renaissance Fairs

syds

"a skull in the hand is worth two in the catacombs"

Peter Brown

Please do FNAF I love rewatching the shorter video reviews too relax

Alicia Young

I would absolutely LOVE a fnaf video!!

Celozon

I have consumed exactly zero FNAF content (never played the game or watched playthroughs, I'm vaguely aware there was a movie?) but thats true of a lot of things you've talked about on your channel and I've still found it all interesting, so I say go for it, especially if its something you want to talk about. I think as long as its something you are interested in, there are plenty of people in your audience that will enjoy it, the Evermore video seems to be proof of that. You certainly got me extremely invested in this park I hadn't even known existed.

Henri

PLEASE do a FNAF video. As someone who only watched a single let's play on an episode of Critical Role's 4-Sided Dive, I thoroughly enjoyed watching a fun silly movie that had no idea who its target audience was and I would love nothing more than to hear you talk about it like the olden days of Lore .....get it? Lore?

Mortalfingies

I was silently thinking to myself that the Evermore topic was beating a dead horse but I have to admit I was wrong. This got juicy and there was plenty more to say! Thanks for another great ramble video. And I think a more casual movie review video would be great!

Aaron Lutes

Wow you should record fairy audio books, perfect character voice

Jess

Hi Bob!

Kevin

It seems like the only benefit they have to joining a guild is that you might be less likely to be assaulted by someone in the park.

Jess

If you don’t mind me asking, I wonder what has made you change your tone so drastically on the park - from the Q&A video or even in the video about Evermore not closing that you posted on Reddit about a week ago. It seems that you were a staunch defender of the park but your comment seems to show otherwise.

Bob at Evermore

i was definitely a little disillusioned from the news it was closing. but i don't feel like my tone has changed that much. in general, yeah, i'm way easier on the park than it deserves, but that's just because i'm weird and genuinely enjoy it. but i have also always criticized aspects of the park throughout making my videos. (although perhaps not enough.) but i really do say what i genuinely think, and my comment above is exactly that. it's true. there is no reason behind most of the "why" at evermore park.

Bob at Evermore

na i'm never going to post a response to these, i just really enjoy watching them

Olivia Grillo

I’m so happy Jenny got to go to the free standing magi quest. I went to the one in myrtle beach every year in the 00s. I still have a magi quest rune hanging from my review mirror. When I first saw the og evermore video my first thought was why they didn’t just do a beefed up magi quest for an older audience. I would have loved to see that park :(

Ash Gabrielle

I think a casual video would be fun and maybe from the creator perspective a nice break from working on longer content. I don't know anything about FNAF but then again, a year ago I knew nothing about Evermore, and now I've watched like 8+ hours of your videos on it, so that's hardly a problem.

Clayton

I would love FNAF video. Super random but I saw it on Halloween and to my surprise I was sitting next to Mike from Stranger Things all his friends lol. Movie was just alright but sitting next to a famous person made the experience really memorable.

lyrium

Noooo no fnaf

Jenny Nicholson

Whoa I never realized the root was "belle dame." So like, lady who's good with remedies near your town, everybody calls her a nickname like 'granny' but kind of thinks she's a witch. That makes a lot of sense! (Agreed that whoever was writing for the park prolly got it from coraline tho)

Georgia

When I told my boyfriend that Evermore was supposedly closing, he fully took his lunchbreak at work and called to ask me to book a hotel for the weekend before Halloween to visit. We are those people who would have loved to know if it was closing, so we dropped everything, just in case. We also visited Lagoon, which was better, but Evermore was decently fun.

Mimosa

He’s among us!!! But where???? Where??? This was a fantastic video. We patreons sure are well fed!

Candice

A fellow Critter! Bidet! 😁 I wonder how many of us are lurking here... (Also, seconding your point!)

Trystan

Watching Jenny's previous creepypasta commentaries, I'd guess she's going to dunk on FNAF for however long the video would be.

Porge

FNAF vid would be fun! I’m so invested in the insanity of the FNAF lore/fandom from, like, an anthropological standpoint, despite having never played any of the games. I saw your tweets about it and I feel like a video from the perspective of someone who only has the movie for context would be a good foil to all the super-dedicated fans just enumerating every reference and Easter egg.

Macy M

I am pro-fnaf video

Mimosa

Also… a FNaF video sounds amazing!!

Najeeb Khadim

I can't describe how much I love the evermore trilogy

THORnews

BRAVO, Jenny. Bravo.

snughly

Jenny, have you heard of Phantom Peak? It sounds kind of like a British Evermore with a Steampunk Western aesthetic

David

This video was amazing! I love your spider's costume!

Jubei

Yes please, FNAF video.

David

I have personally never really interacted with FNAF but I feel like a video on it would ABSOLUTELY fit in with your canon of Creepypasta/ 2010s Internet Horror videos and I'd be excited to see it!

Candice

Agreed! That part was horrifying! It was SO much worse than I imagined! It sounds like it's become normalized as a routine problem too. Like not a terrible one-off, but a regularly occuring issue they're maybe 'trying' to fix. If Ken cared about his employees, surely you'd shut everything down immediately until you could put in real safety measures. How many people have been harassed or assaulted from his sheer carelessness?

Steven Clark

My tinfoil hat theory is that Bretschneider hired a professional Kanye West impersonator to walk around town with him and make it look like Kanye might invest in the park, as a way of attracting REAL investors who might want to get in on whatever Kanye is doing. It would explain why so many people are saying those are photos of Kanye even thought it doesn't really look like him, since celebrity impersonators never really look much like the people they impersonate, and it sounds like exactly the kind of dumb idea Ken Bretschneider would come up with. Also, I would be excited for a Five Nights at Freddy's video, since I have no intention of ever watching the movie, but I still want to be entertained.

Candice

I'm declaring it now: I'll never get tired of Evermore content. And that's a goddamn promise.

David Cock

"And all of its walls and stuff" is also what I look for in a building

Ty P

Evermore should be applauded for having a representative with no media training. In what wonderful world would we live if all companies did that... Having PR reps after allegations say stuff like:"Sorry to say this bro but sucks to be you." People would burn down company headquarters on a daily basis.

Jenny Nicholson

Well come to think of it that would explain taking him to what looked like a quick service/walk up bbq place. I mean not saying kanye is a food snob, as I said he loved the disneyland food lol. But if you're courting an investor it feels like you'd try to take them to a fancy table service dinner where you'll be sitting/talking a while, especially if it's a big celebrity who could get swarmed at a casual place. Unless being seen is your goal! (Also it's so sus to me that for 2019 or whenever, the only pictures are low res and from a distance like he's a cryptid)

Steve Ray

Employees get harassed wherever their work involves acting friendly to the general public. At least none of the Evermore actors are economically trapped there, because Ken doesn't pay anyone on a regular basis.

Birthe_bird

totes. Also a big fan of roofs

Steve Ray

@Bob: Y'all should set aside some of the parking lot as Employees Only - No Trespassing. Then you can reach out to the local martial-arts scene to offer them a designated hunting ground, because any non-employees in that area will be either creepers or thieves -- or at least trespassers -- who will deserve whatever beatings the black belts deliver.

Dale Willey

The part where she said that they do their own internal investigations into fan harassment of their actors was really hard to hear. Untrained general employees keeping a blacklist does not constitute an official response by the park, and should be considered a liability NIGHTMARE on multiple fronts. I’m glad that she, as an individual, seems to be taking the problems seriously, but she’s still looking at it from the perspective of a boots-on-the-ground employee, not management: “how can we minimize the harm when these incidents happen” rather than “why are these incidents happening and how can we ensure the safety of our staff”. I hope her upset over these incidents is taken seriously by the next generation of management once she is forced out, but I suspect she’ll just be treated as a malcontent, precisely the way she dismissed her predecessors.

Leona Lee

I would go feral for a Jenny FNAF video 👀

Hedrigal

The interview is astonishing honestly.

ts_babyjane

lol definitely not tired of evermore content. ill take anything you want to talk about. not complaining about the democratic process of this patreon, but my personal, least favorite topics are like “make up something from this prompt” meme type things. i love hearing your opinions and analysis so when its just for the memes im not super invested.

the ethical soprano

i don’t know how evermore continues to shock me but that “fireside chat” has my jaw on the ground

Hedrigal

Why is there a character who is named after an actual famous Italian math wizard.

TalysAlankil

so is this the part where we say "hi bob! hope you enjoy jenny's non-evermore videos!" because. what a twist.

TalysAlankil

you'll just relay the information to the evermore staff instead?

Jower

That looks like it could be Kanye to me, but I just can't imagine Kanye walking around with zero entourage? Wouldn't he at the very least have a bodyguard with him?

Taylor Brown

yes!! i would love a fnaf vid

Erin Dugan

1:59:40 oh my god. Maxwell’s theme coming in is transcendent. This is like end of act one of les mis

Bob at Evermore

na they always hear about it without my intervention. i think a bunch of people that actually currently work for them are in here as well.

Erin Dugan

I have to listen to the audio drama

Erin Dugan

I got distracted while Jenny you were saying that maxwell’s song was going to come in so I got to experience the cameo in real time hahahahah

Haley Hansen

I would love a FNAF video, I genuinely think your real life knowledge of animatronics and themed environments would give you a fascinating perspective on the movie/franchise

Taylor Brown

also, if it's not too much to ask, would you be able to add a cw/time stamps for suicide?

Shan

*grift

Nicholas Balda

It’s so surreal knowing that bob is among us. He and Jenny are like in orbit, keeping tabs on evermore and each other in their own ways ….idk it’s really wild and was surreal to see in this video

Ivy Veritas

Jenny, regarding your speculation about whether Ken was bluffing to try to get investors, that was definitely the impression I got reading between the lines on your first video. When they were comparing themselves (favorably) to Disney in their early marketing spiels, I actually paused your video the first time I watched it and googled how much it would have cost to build a Disney-quality ride at the time they were building Evermore (170 million for one ride, if I remember right). I'm pretty sure a single ride would have been too much for him, and there's no way he could have afforded a whole park built to that level of quality. Which means either they didn't do 30 seconds of research, or everything they said in the early days was a lie. So it really seemed like they were putting on a big show for investors. I got the impression that it was only later, after that failed, that they changed their tune to bragging that not having investors was a good thing. But by that point, the writing was already on the wall that the park was never going to see significant improvements over the state it was in. (I'm posting this just after watching that section of this video, so it's possible you discuss it more later.)

warriorsmurf

I will never get tired of Evermore content.

Kimberly

I'm not even 5 minutes in and Mr. Brett Schneider's perpetual victimhood is killing me.

luizamor

ok, this video was extremely entertaining, from possibly kanye to the nonsense talking skull story, to the absolutely unhinged q&a stream, to the reveal that bob has been lurking on the patreon (and then commenting on this thread)... i hadn't laughed this much in a while, thanks Jenny! also it's a huge yes from me on the FNAF video, but also literally any content from you. i'll watch you talk about literally anything.

Sqand

I fear the chaos has begun to spread beyond the Realm of Doors & Portals to our own world.

Niki Rakauskas

Who in their right mind trusts the influencers who went week one to starcruiser 😭😭

Majima Cookie

Nice! I knew this ramble was late and figured you were editing it, didnt expect it to be this massive though! Also yay for more evermore, essentially a part 3 at this point

Keri Riley

I went the Evermore website (because of course I did) but they have announced the winter season too. Bets on whether they actually open or whether they just take people's money for tickets and then close anyway?

Dannielle Moriondo

If you do a video of lagoon in utah it would be worth looking into their collection of animals. It’s the worlds saddest zoo. Lagoon also has a waterpark.

Zzzzerk Ronzzzerk

Jenny, and anyone else looking for a good time, should really check out the Wisconsin Dells (the self-proclaimed waterpark capital of the world) and WIZARD QUEST!!! I think Jenny would absolutely love it based on her review of Magic Quest. Wizard Quest is a different experience and, according to their site, "created for adults, with children in mind." There are riddles, hidden entrances, and many 3D characters. It's so interactive and fun (assuming it hasn't changed much since I last went some years ago)! Going to Wizard Quest is one of my all-time happiest childhood memories. https://www.wizardquest.com/

Markus D

I feel like *I* have better PR skills than the lady in the Q&A. I have zero training, but I know not to say something that's basically "maybe the alleged abuses against employees is just them being offended by our tone and they have to deal with it because that's the real world".

Andrea Barlow

your take on fnaf would be awesome

Markus D

The Q&A was so bizarre. It's also weird that the woman in that seemed to be blaming the guests so much as if the company shouldn't have safeguards in place to stop these incidents from being so common in the first place. Like, I'm not removing the blame from said abusive guests, but the sheer volume of harassment suggests that there's something wrong at the core of the business, because it's unlikely that it just happens to be that Evermore is really attractive to sexual predators.

Mike Carpenter

I know nothing about FNAF, but I also haven’t seen most of the movies you talked about in your older format, and I still love and regularly rewatch those videos. Suffice to say I would love if you did something with FNAF and I would watch it probably a dozen times minimum

Chantal

I would love to see a Five Nights at Freddy's video. I think it can be very funny and attract many views.

MelvinIsANiceBoy

hearing your perspective on fnaf would be cool, would be fun to watch!

Knockoff Airpods

wait is... is the ghost story a reference to coraline? they call the monster "the Beldam" which is lifted from coraline, who replaces eyes (skulls) with buttons (skulls) and she also strikes a deal when she has the upper hand... except it makes sense in the story. wild thing to lift from and the name makes it especially obvious lmao

Ryan Eynab

I'd be interested in a FNAF video!

Mitchell Herring

FNAF holiday video titled “On the Fifth Night at Freddy’s, My True Love Gave to Me”

laurathejones

hi jenny! i know it's pretty unlikely that you'll respond to this, as it's not super related to the video, but hearing you talk about your experiences working at disney (as someone who would like to work in the park in a similar capacity someday), i was just curious what your journey was like in getting into the company? i know a lot of people my age use the DCP as a springboard into working at the company, but is that the only real entry-level way to become a cast member at this point? love your videos; they're always a surefire way to cheer up my day!

Miranda

Putting someone out there untrained makes them the scapegoat. It puts her at legal and reputations risks, making her the face of bad news without that being her job. It’s super unfair, and I feel bad for her!

laurathejones

The Q&A responses felt like they completely overshot trying to justify something negative which may upset a few people on discord(?) by outright confirming via current management that working conditions are unsafe for staff and have been since the parks inception. You cannot throw out terms like PTSD- this is a clinical diagnosis, did that staff member receive financial compensation/support for essentially injuries acquired at work?! How this Park isn't shut down immediately due to unsafe practice is unbelievable! That manager completely tanked it imo

Shiny Skunk

Obsessed with the reading of that ebook... I love that they do the classic My Immortal move of never being able to just use "said" as a dialog tag, everyone has to "interject" or "ejaculate" or whatever.

Max

Justice for the skull witch beldam lady

Brittany Rees

In regards to the safety issue, I'm surprised there isn't any major disclaimer when purchasing tickets or a code of conduct for guests to sign. I know Sleep No More had this issue and when I went last year, there were quite a few disclaimers that you would be removed immediately if you broke the agreement you signed. (Plus they have designated staff in every room who are not actors to watch guests.) If it's regular guests behaving this way (as the manager is implying), it seems like that would be a huge step in prevention if the consequence was "You will be removed and never allowed back."

My Summer Rain

I'm feeling kind of dizzy and tired today, but this video has majorly cheered me up.

DJ

Wow, thank you so much for that link. It matches so much of what I get from my own parents. "We all make mistakes!" I'm not saying you did irreparable damage, but choices you made affected me and I'd like to talk about it.

berry beinfeld

screaming (laughing) at Witch Beldam’s Spooky Skull Exchange

Evan Bobrow

I’m having trouble pulling up the link but I’m 90% sure one of the early rambles is about Jenny’s experience working at Disney, it should be in the masterpost!

Mariel

I would love a five nights at freddys video so so much. I was hoping you would do one. I'm a having the most rotten day ever. My dog (not one in my pic) is getting a cancer mass removed. I'm scared. It helped having this long video to listen to.

Gamaliel Miranda

Hiiii yes, please I love your movie videos, I think the FNAF franchise is one of the most fun to comment/critic/review etc, due to the amount of craziness and fun nonsense surrounding it

Mariel

best logic ever

Jennie White

you're so kind, thank you! i think i found it :)

blitzball

FNAF is so on-brand you gotta do a quick video

Markus D

I think the best way of having an info person who is going to be lackadaisical and holding a fan is by having them laying on a chaise longue and starting up conversation with people approaching, like a socialite, but one who shares useful info to guests. Hell, you can even characterize it like they take pride in all the things they know about Evermore and the worlds. Though, of course, this is assuming that the actor knows what is happening in the park around them, while it feels like Evermore is giving basically no instruction to anyone.

Markus D

I was unhappy about Evermore winning initially because I thought that there wouldn't be enough to actually SAY about Evermore, but I'm very satisfied with this, because there WAS!

Markus D

I do think that you should take a bit of a break when it comes to the Starcruiser video if you feel burnt out on it. Like, if you do a casual FNAF video, maybe it'll help raise your spirits just to get something finished? (And so sorry to hear that you were feeling sick at the end of this!)

Ella Dawson

honestly as much as I appreciate the transparency and honesty from the manager who did this live Q&A, it seems like she created excellent grounds for a lawsuit by employees! it's like a tacit confession that management is aware that the park is a breeding ground for the physical assault of employees!

Drew Hitchcock

Yes! They are not taking any responsibility for the fact that they designed a game that seems to actively discourage healthy, casual play. The main way to have "fun" is to obsess over every tiny action of the employee-characters. Its like if Disney forced you to list the names of your favorite cast members before boarding pirates of the caribbean.

Nickel Brady

OOOH Jenny a FNAF video would be such a treat! I’ve been relentlessly haunted by the absurdity of the lady cop character since I saw the movie, please help me exorcise her from my brain!!

Starlit Rain

Im SO excited!!!! Yippieee! Jenny youre the best content creator!

Caroline Shepperd

Does anyone know if they still have the aerial performances? As a professional aerialist myself I am so curious about how that came about and if they treat them well

Starlit Rain

YES!!! I was there in the fandom when it came out in 2014 but Im sooo out of the loop now XD IDK Vanessa either, but despite some weird decisions the movie was pretty cool as an old fan :)

Sara

That doesn’t look like Kanye, I agree with you

sawyer tsaregorodtseva

as an east tennessean i've always wondered what magiquest even is because no one who lives near pigeon forge like i do is willing to stop anywhere over there but the national park, so the magiquest clips were an unexpected little treat for me lol

Andreas Stahl

If I can see anyone walk me through the convoluted, nonsensical mythology of FNAF, I think it would have to be you.

Brett Lunde

The Beldam is the villain from Coraline. The story sounds like a rip off of the movie

Tommy M

I'll be happy if they close only because then I know that Wen Weaver will finally be free from Kierstin playing with her like her favorite broken toy in her toybox #teamweaver

Madeleine

Yes! Solidarity lmao. I also had a very special KB type as a dad (though with less money and power, I thank God every day). If this resonated, I'd recommend the book "Recovering from Emotionally Immature Parents" as a really helpful next step.

Madeleine

The Jenny Patreon comment section is the only social media platform I still like

charredCnidaria

I mean, you could argue that Evermore is attractive to predators explicitly *because* the park has so few successfully implemented security measures. Like, I doubt there's some kind of Pervert Word of Mouth about just how easy it is to creep around at Evermore...but it wouldn't be that difficult for weirdos to notice something to that effect after going *apparently multiple times per person* if the manager was to be believed... Or maybe Christmas tails, hot cholate, and ice ricks are just really big in their circles. It's anyone's guess.

Markus D

Yeah, I thought about that as I wrote it, but I mean that more like... assuming that perverts aren't staying on top of that kind of news for "best theme parks to grope people at" or something.

shannon

That MagiQuest section was so nostalgic for me to watch because I LOVED that game the couple of times I went to Great Wolf Lodge as a kid :') Also Evermore has so many problems, thank you for continuing to make videos about it! Such a horribly-managed park and I feel so bad for the actors

mango

hi bob!!!

Ashley

When I watched the evermore video I assumed the livestreamer was one of your friends and I was impressed how quickly she defined "guild" lol I feel like that would have been a "name a woman" moment for me.

Virgil's Inferno

I would love to hear your FNAF hot takes haha. I always love your movie videos!! P.s. hi Bob!!

Wren

plz Jenny drop the Star Wars hotel video I can’t take it lol

Francesca White

Bellam is also just a name for a witch so I think calling it a rip off is a stretch, especially since the stories are nothing alike

The Huldra King

Ah yes. Kanye. I remember getting a heads up about that and to act normal, then driving to the studio (when they still had it) in order to get into costume, seeing black SUV(s?) and being approached while still in my car, being told to keep my phone in my pocket, all of that. And I was like neat... anyways I just want to get into costume and start my shift. Also the magic campfire thing was from a different outfit, and they used the Evermore space to demo it to people for maybe one night? One person went around with an earpiece and chatted with guests waiting in line, and what information she gleaned from the next in the queue would be passed onto the one voicing the fire, so he could weave that into his presentation as a sort of clairvoyance. https://www.infinitekingdoms.com/magiccampfire

The Huldra King

"I mean, you could argue that Evermore is attractive to predators explicitly *because* the park has so few successfully implemented security measures." Yeah agreed, the same thing has been said (and demonstrated) about the Mormon church, which happens to have a huge influence on Utah Valley culture

The Huldra King

They had Disney imagineers and other qualified people running originally, Ken just couldn't keep them... I mean at this rate, maybe if evermore is open 2 more years the cast will consist of 14 year olds /hj

Kav

I know people's mileage varies a lot on the quality of Sanderson's work - I at least like almost of all of his novels and love a decent few but he has genuine limitations and also a very... distinctive narrative style that I know drives a lot of people up the wall (and I completely get it). All that said, two of his strengths that I don't think many people would argue with is his ability to envision fantasy worlds that feel genuinely unique and, though by no means outstanding prose, at least very clear prose in terms of bringing across visuals and what's happening in any given scene All of which is to say, yeah, his work is, in my view, tailor-made to create an interesting themed venue even if you're not interested or even outright dislike his novels. That said, because his worlds generally are so removed from typical fantasy, I can only think of two iconic castles he could be thinking of, one of which would be a very ambitious build and not exactly pretty, and the other... I have no clue how you'd build convincingly given that its main distinguishing feature is that it's on top of that world's equivalent of Mount Everest.

Pip

I would be so down for a classic Jenny style FNAF video. I went to see the movie and my boyfriend didn’t, and I just could not articulate the like nonsensical exposition and weird moments well. I feel like hearing it all second hand in a similar fashion to the fantastic beasts video would be so perfect.

Antalion20

Yikes, that fireside chat is the stuff of nightmares. I don't know if it's because the set and video quality makes it look like a witness deposition, but I'm like half of a mind to suspect that the park closing/firing the actors could be a direct result of it coming to light. I'm not a lawyer, but looking at it from a layman's perspective, the statements therein would expose serious legal liabilities and threat of lawsuits. Where before it could be regarded as rumor, now here is an employee (a spokesperson, even!) of the park stating directly, on video, that it has and is taking place. Am I reading too much into it? It seems like a big deal.

Katy Blessing

A FNAF video would be awesome!! I also think if you haven't seen Willy's Wonderland (the Nicholas Cage FNAF rip off), you would get a kick out of it. In my opinion, it's way more fun than the real FNAF movie, and goofy in a good way.

lydinair

omg i would so love to hear your thoughts on fnaf

Ashley

He did a Sunday Service concert in Salt Lake City in early October 2019. Idk if that makes it more or less likely that he was there lol. Also he visited a random mid sushi restaurant in my town at the height of his heel turn and people were walking up and taking pictures with him. So I think he does just show up at places...

mango

I mean, there was that waiver that Jenny talked about not being able to sign in the first video, I assume they still have one?

Chris Johnson

Oh wow. A friend of mine works for Epic and gave me a tour, and that was so wild for a workplace.

egg

The word "beldam" was not invented for Coraline. It's just another word for witch/hag. Striking deals is something that happens in a lot of folktales about hags. It's just kinda what they do. It's just a bad story, definitely not a reference.

Majima Cookie

We would love more of your casual movie reviews, and I dont know anything about fnaf, so having you describe it will surely feel like a fever dream

Dannoboi

The magiquest callout is amazing. Went there as a kid every year I could in Myrtle Beach, and I'd go as an adult if it existed and was aged up a bit. Evermore seems like the perfect skeleton for it.

NHakan

I had to step away for a few seconds and forgot to pause and when I got back thought that convoluted skull story was somehow the new backstory for the haunted doll, adding a whole extra level of confusion to it.

Austin F

"judge atkinson" omg that's almost the same name as the dad in Troll. collab of the century????

viruviruviru

please please PLEASE do the FNAF video, I LOVE your super long and high effort videos but I really do miss the old laid back spirit of the channel as well. I also think it would be a good idea to have a shorter and less intense video in between Evermore and the cruise video.

apelsindipp

Would love a FNAF video!!

Jason F

Wow the Q&A part was a ride!

Anna D

I didn't vote for this but I love all jenny videos so I'm still happy to get this one

The Huldra King

Also I thought I should point out that on Ken's fb bio and on his Xitter handle it says that he is now the CCO, instead of the CEO.

Silky

Reminds me of a place I used to work at. Employees step up motivated at the chance to take leadership and change the place, thinking they know exactly how to turn things around, but it never works because the problem is at the top. Experienced managers leave quickly when they realize what's up, or don't even take the job in the first place, or aren't even sought out because the boss only wants people who won't tell them things they don't want to hear. I've seen the cycle several times in a row, and it was really sad because it was a workplace I also loved and put a lot of work and care into. But when things are messy the way Evermore is, the problem is always at the top. No new manager can change that.

Aimee W

i 100% believe he tried to fake it til he made it with investors. that is exactly how tech companies do it

Zachary C

I thought that the clip of the person asking for a quest and about guilds and getting completely shut down was from an early season when the park was new and they hadn’t quite figured it out yet. How was that was years after opening???

Ann Parker

It’s wild how much Evermore storytelling is “telling, not showing” when it’s LITERALLY a show

Steph K

They definitely changed stuff because of your video. I went there a couple months ago and noticed there was some kind of scent being pumped into the tavern. It made me think of how you said it stank in there before lol. Also, since you mentioned Six Flags and Knott's, did you hear those companies are merging? I wonder if it'll be good or bad for them.

draav

i wasn't expecting the sanderson crossover, that would be a cute idea

Ashley Norton

The convergence wasn’t a scam! They just marketed a scam to their loyal following for a flat fee

Ann Parker

It’s also strange, if they’re not disseminating the story to the actors so they’re all solid on what’s going on (and not perpetually surprised guests are asking?) that they apparently don’t provide improv training, or hire for it. Maybe just cause I went to an improv-heavy college, but it seems to me like a very obvious first step to give at least a few days of training in yes-anding and other fundamentals. I’ve seen teens grasp how not to kill the scene pretty quickly, and these character interactions seem to always be exactly what not to do. Maybe they get penalized if when talking to guests, they establish some lore that the writers didn’t expect? But that leaves them in a no-man’s land of not having anything prepared and also not being able to make anything up.

Gareth Eade

You should deffo do some smaller fun videos - it sounds like you need a palate clenser! Only working on the epic long things can be draining...

Sarah

Reminds me of Table top horror stories. Someone makes a character who's a cool loner. They don't do teamwork. They're to busy being cool and alone. And it's like, okay, but this is a group game. You need to come up with a reason why your character WOULD work with the other players. Thats the buy in. In evermore, you're not larping, you're facilitating a guest experience. So your character should be someone who, even sarcastically, is helpful. If they are rude, they can go "What, you haven't heard about guilds??? Are you a baby? Are you a stupid newborn baby who doesn't know guilds are people with the same job and goal? You think the hunters play songs all day? No! they go out and hunt monsters."

Malini Correa

Firstly, I would love a FNAF video even if it slightly pushes back the timeline on the starcruiser one! Take your time. Secondly, hi Bob (everything Jenny said about "convergence" was right).

Cabbage

love this ramble, and would love an FNAF fun lil vid. I haven’t seen FNAF but your Dumbo/Fantastic Beasts/Joker videos are all so good

Sarah

can't wait for the next video of him sheepishly going "Hey guys. Don't worry this time i didn't write seven books in three years! I bought a themepark and i wrote a compendium, an rpg rulebook, several books worth of character backstory, fifty questlines, and a ten year plan for our storybeats going forward. Normal stuff"

Eliel

Not the plagiarism of CS Lewis in the podcast

Zachary C

I saw a comment back on the original video about how they should have just made it canon that Worldwalkers (earth visitors) walking around asking for “quests” was just a known quirk of our culture that the evermore citizens would just accept. It’s wild to me that isn’t what they went with.

Marissa Collins

The fake British accents in the audio plays 😭😭😭

Anna Glin

yes I think more casual videos would be fun! like someone else commented recently I think you're stressing yourself out too much with thinking of main channel videos. we're here for you on patreon!

AU

TFW you watch a Q&A and they're talking about YOU

Libby

I think Christmas is a big missed opportunity for Evermore. It would not be too difficult to have a Yule celebration (it is Utah though, and maybe that would upset the majority Mormon customer base they probably have). They could also easily do a Victorian Christmas and have carolers, a lights display would not be too difficult to pull off, and that could be a big source of income for them. As it stands, Philadelphia City Hall has a bigger Christmas festival than evermore. And it isn't even a theme park, it's an operating municipal building.

Sarah

> Hell, you can even characterize it like they take pride in all the things they know about Evermore and the worlds. That is SUCH a good point! Make them a scholar, or a scientist, or a teacher. Someone who likes knowledge and likes to share it.

Rae Leo

The dead end roleplay makes me think of that moment in TAZ… “What’s your story, Cassidy?” “I don’t think I should tell you guys this. You’re here to kill all of us and steal my root beer barrels.” “Good improv, Cassidy. way to say yes. Let me try again. So what’s your story?” “Well, I’m glad you asked-”

Sarah

ohh, I like that. Like how in the Professor Layton games, giving people puzzles to solve is just a thing. It's not realistic, but players buy into the fiction because they get fun in return. And with this, it would also be cool, because then characters who are nice could give you a fairly simple quest ("just tell them to count the dragon heads in the tavern, it's enrichment") and the more sinister characters could give you difficult or kinda shady quests.

VermiciousKnid

Great video! Every scene from Evermore is like a video game where the NPC's have written the story and dialogue...

Sarah

Every video i am getting more and more annoyed at Brettschneider. I have had a boss like that, who dreamt big, and thought up cool concepts, and was personaly insulted when I said demoralising things like, "Hey, i've worked a couple of events, i don't think we can find a location, organize catering, and advertise to visitors in a two week timeframe for a 50+ people event." Like, no. I haven't done it. And if you can pull it off, I'll be very impressed at your skills. But asking "how will we actually do this? How are you accounting for the worst case scenario? What's your fire safety protocol? Who on staff is responsible for first aid?" isn't being mean when someone is running a business.

Meg Kubesh

In the theme of FNAF, have any of y’all checked out the Rockafire Explosion documentary?? I think it gave an interesting look into the animatronic band craze of the 80s while exploring the hold that nostalgia can have over people. The thought of the creator of the band just pacing through his big warehouse full of deteriorating animatronics and tech was so eerie to me!

Jesse

Okay wildly hilarious that if you go to the evermore website today, the Christmas theme is up and it’s a “Dickens Christmas with a T W I S T!!!” What are they odds that went up in the 18 hours since this video posted?

Markus D

I just realized upon reading your comment that it isn't and I'm still not totally convinced until I watch it again myself.

Laura McRaniels

Jenny is wearing her future Evermore disguise on her head- sheet ghost

Tally Dream Machine

- FNAF please oh my god. I don't know how one can make a simple FNAF video but I want more animatronics people to talk about it.

Tally Dream Machine

Crap hit Enter. Anyway - I've been to the Great Wolf Lodge in my area and they do have MagiQuest and my kids happily spent hours running around waving their expensive cheap wands at everything, it's good times. And I think you, Jenny, would like GWL in general, it's really themed and just super cute.

cheyenne barton

HAHAHAH oh i love this, a spot on reference. i’m due for a Balance relisten

Lindsay

Oooo, the plot thickens! Thanks for the magic campfire info, too

Lindsay

Right? Just mind boggling

Jenny Nicholson

OH MAN that's another thing I could've talked about, I listened to a whole podcast about their then-audition process and it was comically rigorous for how meager the pay is. Like a million rounds and weird Mr Miyagi level challenges that don't even feel reflective of skill in any practical way, like "give your monologue standing next to 2 guys also doing their monologues, and then we surprise you by asking what their monologues were about." Just tasks that felt unreasonable and like some kind of power trip to impress them with how intense the process was. I think often their failure to yes-and is just uncertainty about the story. Like they know there must be one and don't want to guess wrong, but don't really know what it is.

The Huldra King

I saw him and his family when I drove to the studio/office to get into costume.

C Martinez

I just want you to know finding out about two more Evermore videos absolutely made me pledge on here, so thank you for the rambles! I always wondered what their response to your original video was and now we know 😂 Also, FNAF video would be amazing.

The Huldra King

Hit the nail on the head. Was a tragic thing to realize as late as a lot of us did.

Jenny Nicholson

(Q&A voice) We didn't change that because of her, we knew about the stinky tavern for YEARS. Re: six flags/cedar fair, I don't know what to think because both companies do such underwhelming work lol. I do worry that with them becoming one oversized company, it'll just be a more Walmart operation and be even easier for things like maintenance to fall through the cracks

Amy

We see you Bob….. We see you…..

The Huldra King

@Zach for a while (at least pre-2021 layoff) that was actually the case. First season, it was so drilled on us to be immersive, that we would be like "q u e s t??" But we after the first season we realized that in canon, the culture of that town would be affected by the frequency of "worldwalkers" visiting, and the "Evermorians" would be able to at worst be like "'quest'? ah yes, you worldwalkers sure are funny about that. Well, I do have a problem, fit for a 'quest'!" Would not be an unfamiliar thing

Mia S

FNAF would be so so fun! Love the evermore vids, can't wait to watch them all together

Emma

I would love to see Jenny go to wizards quest in the Wisconsin dells seeing how much she enjoyed Magi quest. Someone else mentioned it already but it’s kind of similar to magi quest but geared more towards adults while being still fun for kids. The environmental design in the whole building is phenomenal and they pretty recently moved into a huge new building that’s three floors and very expansive. So many secret rooms and areas, each area is themed to a certain element. There are no actors but I kind of prefer that since the experience is so engaging on its own actors aren’t really needed. People tend to pass it up since it’s in the middle of a tourist trap downtown but it’s genuinely one of my favorite places and I have been going since I was a kid. The one thing I will mention is some of the puzzles require use of black light and the ones they give u don’t always work well which can stop u from completing certain quests, but there’s so much to do that u can just move onto something else. There are also some quests that require crawling through some tight squeezes and as a tall person that can be pretty dicey but for a kid is extremely fun.

Ann Parker

I'd love to believe that interview process was maliciously designed to make the actors think working there is such a competitive 'hot ticket' that once they're hired they'll put up with more BS in order to keep such a prestigious job... but that actually sounds like exactly what always happens when you give the job of hiring to someone who's never done it before and fails to google "how to conduct a job interview'. (If there's one thing I've gleaned from this trilogy of videos, it's that incompetence isn't that much better than malice.)

Steph K

Yeah, they're definitely not the best, but I've considered Cedar Fair very slightly better because it seems like they're at least trying to improve on the theming front. I think they're going to have more ownership than Six Flags, so hopefully that trend will continue for everything, but I also worry Six Flags is going to make Cedar Fair even more subpar. Like, I worry the lack of competition for the budget theme park scene will cause them to get even lazier too. Lol I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Katherine S.

They had aerialists the last two seasons, but I don’t know any behind the scenes info sadly

Treyden Talbot

Salt Lake City has like 3 very high quality scare mazes and Utah county (where pleasant Grove is) has a few fine ones. evermore is a fine one.

Ann Parker

And honestly, even if the victim-blamey spin from that Q&A video was true (that actors are the ones blurring boundaries with fans by engaging in fan spaces with them), ridiculous as that is, it would be moot! The park STILL has a legal obligation to stop that from happening, no matter the cause.

Jenny Nicholson

They just have a website to apply! Most of the entry-level jobs posted are Attractions or food service, but once you're interviewing they ask what your special skills are and basically present everything that's available. I don't even remember what I applied for, but I mentioned I was experienced with horses so they set me up a 2nd interview with that department. Also if you hire in as something you don't like, after I think 90 days if you have a good work record, there are a lot of departments that are easier to transfer into. Like when I worked there guest relations was ONLY for transfers. But they also have decent upward mobility to move into management or office jobs, as long as you're good at writing emails! The only one that's very hard to break into is imagineering, but also anecdotally most modern imagineers don't last more than 2 years before being laid off :-/

Emil

I want to believe that it was Kanye West and it's an escalation of their feud with Taylor Swift. At the Christmas event we'll see Jake Gyllenhaal drinking hot cocoa in a red scarf and fake elf ears

Steph K

Forgot to mention this in a previous comment but since you talked about Lagoon, I also went there when I visited Evermore and it was fun! I'm a bigger fan of coasters and thrill rides than you are, so it was definitely more worth it for me than it might be for you, but I also found the spooky little dark rides really charming. They were pretty short, around Mr. Toad at Disneyland length, maybe a little longer, but I enjoyed them. They were cute. Halloween is probably the best time to go though if they have mazes for additional theming. Definitely don't go in the summer though. It was like 103 degrees when I was there so. Rip.

LS

I didn't think I wanted more Evermore but I was wrong. I wonder if Ken has approached the hilarious disaster millionaire Nile Niami? Seems like they'd make a great business pair.

Derek LaCombe

I think a fnaf video sounds really awesome! I'd really like to hear more about what your takes are.

LS

I can just picture a year from now: someone bulldozing that expensive rare archway and not even knowing.

Tharaxis

I personally love these Evermore videos, it's practically dense Jenny lore at this point.

Emil

Also, the power and energy of scrambling for investors meanwhile park officials are pettily responding to reviewers by name while disclosing that the vast majority of employees are experiencing assaults at their workplace. I wonder why no one wants to fund and link their brand to this!

Jennie White

oh wow, thank you so much for all the info!! i try to keep an eye on the disneycareers page but have always been a bit underwhelmed by the lack of diversity in park job postings- your explanation about attractions and food service being the main "visible" jobs makes a lot of sense. i watched the video that evan suggested above and had no idea that guest relations encompassed so many roles (complaints, lost and found, make-a-wish, tour guides, etc.) and i would be thrilled to be able to do that job at some point in my life. hearing your perspective and stories as a former cast member has always been a highlight of your videos for me, and i appreciate you sharing your experiences!

Alex

I'd love to watch Jenny take on FNaF as a concept. Sounds pretty entertaining

Jenna Stoddard

What do you mean the ghosts in haunted mansion aren't real

Samantha the Demoncat

I, for one, would adore a FNAF episode, that sounds fun! Also, more Evermore content sounds delightful. But who cares about all that Coral is dressed as a spider <333333

Patrick R.

WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT THE FRACTUUURE

Theresa

Don't underestimate the amount of MagicQuest merch at Great Wolf. Not only does it have its own store for wands, capes, and accessories (including guilds!) but they also have their own Build-A-Bear line of original MagiQuest characters. Want a plush version of Foli, the leaf creature caretaker of the Source Tree? Only $10 more with your $99.99 Wolf Pass!

Hoons

Silently highlighting the typos on their website was peak comedy

mollie

A FNaF video would be so cool! Oh my gosh I would love to hear your thoughts on the movie. FNaF fans would probably be annoying in the comments about you not knowing every piece of lore but I think that makes it more fun. :D

bonnie h.

OMG PLS A FNAF VIDEO

Iris

Anyone who's read John Carreyrou's book Bad Blood, about Elizabeth Holmes might see similarities between Evermore and Theranos. Is this how tech people normally get money?

aleta s.

my balance heart <3 <3

Kotah

I am not tired of the Evermore content. Also I am totally down for a FNAF video.

Desiree DiBerardino

Your videos are all perfect!!! :) don’t make yourself sick stressin!!!

The Huldra King

I don't think, from my observations of it the years I was cast there, that it was maliciously designed, because for how much he micromanaged the theatrical department, he didn't seem to care about the minutiae. So, the Hanlon's Razor thing, as you said.

Matt Skuta

I believe, in Bob's mind, the fly was Jenny.

Devin M

Beldam is a word with a bunch of historical context. It’s not “from Coraline” - Coraline used the word like a lot of other content and media has used the word. It could still be a reference I guess, but the word literally just means “old woman”

Devin M

If the Meow Wolf rumor gets enough attention, especially if someone high up has money they just gave Ken which would partially legitimize it, Meow Wolf would likely have to make some kind of public statement clearing up any confusion - to not tie their name to the park and its controversies.

Moomin8577

My head cannon is that Stephen King left this comment.

Steph K

Haha it's actually short for Stephanie but I'm glad I seem articulate enough to be mistaken for an author.

Eric MacMillan

Is the Starcruiser video far enough along to get a preview video soon? Really excited to get to see how its coming along, even if its a WIP!

Suzy

i thought the same thing omg im so glad it wasnt just me hahah

Cleo Oops

This place seems like a nightmare in absolutely all respects.

Luis

I did not vote for this topic because I foolishly thought what else could there possibly be to say about Evermore?! Boy was I mistaken. This was excellent and I look forward to yearly Evermore vids until the park finally closes for good or who knows Evermore might outlive us all 🤷 I would also welcome a FNAF vid. I watched it the other day having never played the games and thought it was fine, but would love to hear Jenny's take on the movie :D

Alexis

53:11 Obsessed with the fact that the graphic designer for the Ghost Tour webpage has just slapped the Snapchat logo on there like no one would notice. Nothing to see here just a licensed vector image.

puhtahtoe

Chiming in to say I'm not tired of hearing about Evermore. But I do think maybe one vid per year at most would be the way to go. It'd be an interesting progress report type of thing.

Aiden Cordon

PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT FNAF

zanna

the magiquest mention jumpscared me i loved it so much as a kid and there's this crazy rabbit hole to go down about the change in management and stuff lollll

Hanna Hays

Im totally in for a casual FNAF video 👏

sam batty

Like this comment if you’re Bob

Landon J

A casual FNAF video sounds fun! I don't plan to see the movie itself, but I think a review from you would actually be more entertaining 😆

Dan Gibbins

I do want a quickie FNAF video, I really do. I still cannot decide if I want to watch it or not, having zero knowledge of the games.

Komori

Yes please FNAF!

Hedrigal

This is WAY better than part 2.

Sean OLeary

Make as much Evermore content as you want, I will happily follow this story to each increasingly sad ending.

Natania

I worked at the Dickens Fair for a few years (funny to hear it come up haha), and the conversation about all the reports of bad behavior by guests was very interesting. There’s a certain amount of creepy guest behavior you can’t control in live theatre, but it sounds to me like almost no measures are being taken within Evermore to minimize these situations. For instance, it seems like Evermore has a really minimal, maybe even no backstage. That makes it really hard for actors to leave when a creepy guest interaction happens, because there are no easily accessible areas where patrons can’t go. That’s the sort of thing you need to think about when protecting your actors. Getting reports every single weekend with a cast of that size is ludicrous, and it won’t be solved by lecturing your actors about not talking on the fan Discord.

Totesnotasheep

Ok, I love hearing more about evermore (clearly we're invested) BUT ALSO I SEE THAT MUSHROOM STOOL BACK THERE

Rachel Heiderscheidt

omg i did a magiquest once at a great wolf lodge as a kid! it's stuck out in my memory all these years because i really had a blast doing it, but i could never remember what it was called. thank you for the segment on it, i feel like part of my memory has fallen back into place!

Michael

I’m personally not “tired” of Evermore, but the people side of the story is a bummer. People putting in extra unpaid work for a mess of a park. Weird stuff with actors calling out guests by name in a story. The lack of security and people being harassed in a park. The revolving door of people being fired or laid off. The details of how this park became a mess are funny and fascinating. The human story behind the park just sad. I like the idea of a yearly check in until the park eventually closes or gets sold off. I would be down for a FNAF video.

Beat

I have such an acutely negative interest in anything FNAF related at all, so I will probably not watch it if you make it, but follow your dreams, y'know?

Cory Steele

I’ve never watched the entirety of that clip; I skip through it on every rewatch. I just can’t do it

BagelBitez

MagiQuest is incredible!! It definitely succeeds at what Evermore tries to do.

Johanna Ecker

Yes please regarding the FNAF video!! 🙏

Emily

At first I thought that witch story was a reference to the Baba Yaga because she is an old hag that has a fence decorated w/ skulls & "Evan" sounds pretty close to "Ivan." But then it just... went off the rails

Liz

i know, i find it so hard to watch any clips like that from the park because the awkward energy and bad accents are just too much

Liz

i was listening to the video while knitting and as soon as i heard that i dropped the needles and looked up like “judge atkins?!! from troll???”

MW

I had secondhand cringe so hard with the Q&A started talking about Jenny omg. Also, I love Meow Wolf and I think have commented in the past that they are a great example of how to do what Evermore tries to do better, but yeah I don't think they would buy Evermore, it's not their MO at all

Megan Crass

I completely second Wizard Quest and the Dells in general!!! If you’re planning a Wisconsin road trip, also consider checking out House on the Rock (huge quirky roadside attraction of peculiar rooms and knickknack collections) and Little Amerricka (itty bitty family owned theme park with a long train ride through the rural Wisconsin landscape).

truly, chuuli 🩷

i got jumpscared when you said the name "judge atkinson" cause i honest to god for a split second thought it was going to be judge adkins from troll

KL

Hi, Bob!

tobo

58:00 As an IT guy, you don't use wireless for high bandwidth applications, like video, in public settings, cause of interference. Too much consumer electronics in one place wreaks havoc with the unlicensed WiFi wireless spectrum. You'd have to use industry WiFi tech on licensed spectrum to escape the consumer electronics flood. And that's not cheap, nor easy to maintain.

Bryan Sutton

I'm so mad at all this Evermore content. Just hours upon hours upon hours of Evermore! It never ends! I had to cancel Thanksgiving plans. "Sorry Mom, she just won't stop making Evermore videos! Tell Dad I said hi."

KL

This is a really patronizing message to send to a stranger

Moira Laidlaw

It is crazy to me that anyone could get tired of the downward spiral that is Evermore. Would love to see some more casual content if you’re up to it Jenny! I think if there’s something you’d have fun talking about, then you should do it, because I’m pretty sure we’d all enjoy watching it.

Daniel (cat whisperer)

I don't mind a FNAF video. All I can say is every time my partner asks if there's a new Jenny video, and I say "no," she gets angrier and angrier. I don't know how much more anger she has left to muster.

Abbie H

fnaf video yes please absolutely. good idea for multiple reasons: 1) topical 2) you get to talk about animatronics 3) i would like it (most important)

Veronica

Meow Wolf (Santa Fe) does hire actors in the summer! They’re in amazing costumes, some dance, they mostly add atmosphere and make the space more alive.

roffmo

fnaf!

Rae Abigail

Omg thank you for reminding me, that name sounded so familar lol

Chase Cargal

I think a FNaF review (or any movie review) like 20 minutes or less would be great and should appease some of the people who miss the shorter videos

Kevin H

fnaf video would be wonderful!! hope you didnt get too sick!!!!!

FZA

Evermore Bob being on here was a dramatic revelation.

Jack Avalon

Would love to see trapped in a fnaf with Josh Hutcherson

Kelly Michals

I have zero knowledge or interest in FNAF.... so yeah by all means make a video and I'll end up watching it 20 times if the past is any indication

Ishaan Sahai

When all the investigative journalism is done, we can finally get an Emmy-winning prestige miniseries about Ken Bretschneider.

Ham

'I bought all of them and I skimmed all of them" is the faintest praise of all

Ishaan Sahai

But are you going to narrate audiobooks

Bridget

yes fnaf!! I love the shorter vids about unhinged movies i haven't seen! (but i also love the long ones just as much : D)

Ham

1:58:20 "The Spider Queen"? Just me or is that a dig? What would Plush Aragog say?

Freya Gill

The first video of yours I ever watched was your Fantastic Beasts movie discussion - so I'd love to see a more casual FNAF video in that style!!

Ham

I think you mean drinking hot cholate

Ham

I like the idea of building a castle as some sort of anchor point for the park, but I thought Jenny was going to keep on with suggesting, I don't know, some sort of Central Thoroughfare leading towards it from the front gate, or maybe off to the side a sci-fi area called Future Place

Gomgom Jimboi

"one of the witch's skulls" needs to be tier

Jamie

I'm obsessed with your ghost headband

James Walter-Smith

There can never be enough Evermore videos, I disagree with he naysayers in the vote's comment section intensely. I love every single one. A yearly Evermore update would be amazing!

Jason

Yesss to FNAFFFF

Theresa

Yeah, Foli is pretty cute. He's also a fairy unique design. I think the only other original character plush is Charlock, the red dragon. You likely defeated him in Pigeon Forge. His main hobbies are fighting Magi, stealing treasure, and sleeping.

Trystan

I don't mind a yearly update but we had a 2.5 hour video just 3 months ago, and this was a monthly topic video. So basically, Evermore gets its own videos and then also hogs the space for the monthly videos. It obviously only happened once so it's just a bit annoying for me, and the video was fine. However, the topic is also becoming more 'generic company and generic company shenanigans' and less about a very specific theme park with very specific issues and very specific details. 'Evermore runs a Ponzi scheme, Evermore screws its employees.' That's basically any company.

Dip

DRAMA

Kavi Montanaro

I think a more casual approach to the facility would be a good place to start, with the anchor store/castle with interesting and fun grounds to walk in, free admission, as described by Jenny. With various vendors in the buildings, people might have reason to go there more often. I could imagine a farmers' market, florist, coffee shop. It's far less interesting, not really a theme park at all, but also a more reasonable goal. Is there a Renn fair in Utah already? Ours in Maryland has been profitable for 35 years I believe, and they are only open two months a year.

Kalli Mago

Utah does have a renaissance festival, but it’s quite small. No real solid or permanent structures like I’ve seen at every other ren faire I’ve been to. When I last went to the Utah ren faire (a few years ago), it was mostly tents scattered along a trail. So there could definitely be a market for a more permanent and immersive setup like you describe.

Kavi Montanaro

Maybe they want a new home! Evermore might be underwhelming as a theme park, but it would excel as a ren faire. I just looked at the utah faire website, it's interesting that they did a different theme each weekend (fae/pirate/viking). The Evermore site could probably run those concurrently and make everyone happy.

sam beach

I’ll never tire of evermore

Laura Torlaschi

Hard agree on this. My boyfriend is a huge Brando Sando fan, I'm a casual reader. I'm really interested in him as someone who works in the book industry. He has quite the operation going with Dragonsteel books and lord knows that man can make money. I'd 100% go to a Cosmere park.

PamperYamper

Watching you live-respond to people talking about you was awesome content. I hope it doesn't cause drama or anything.

Shauna Volkening

Please check out Wizard's Quest in the Wisconsin Dells someday!

Bob is literally amongus

Viccc

First of all, I would never get tired of yearly Evermore videos. I'm not even a theme park person, but the way you talk about them in general, and Evermore in particular, is so interesting. I also know nothing about five nights at freddy's except that it has scary animatronics and apparently lore? I'm not gonna watch the movie so your video would be my only real exposure to it. It sounds like the Starcruiser video has been such a slog to work on, so if you think it'd be nice to do something a little more casual, go for it!

Sarah B

i will never be tired of evermore videos. i let out such a gasp of shock when bob said he was subbed to the patreon. hi, bob.

Markus D

I think this video was fairly good, if predictable when it comes to the overall shitty company practices, but I wouldn't want any more of it now. I wouldn't mind Jenny covering future changes to Evermore or when it closes, but not dedicate a whole other monthly video to them simply because there's not a whole lot left to talk about.

Markus D

You just made me consider that if Kanye did make a deal with Evermore, whose brand would be more negatively effected? I guess Evermore's because most people would hear about Kanye doing this and go "what's Evermore?" while people coming from the Evermore side would be like "The dude who said he liked Hitler?"

nina ♡

YES FNAF !!!!!

Naomi

Okay I'm just at the part where you're reacting to the livestream and she's talking about stuff that's happened to the actors. Which I'm very sorry for, that's gross, and if the percentage is that high it's mind blowing the park has done nothing to fix that very real problem besides apparently give their actors a speech about not interacting with fan pages, but anyway I digress. The thing that caught my attention is that she said she started as an actor and was then promoted, and other people in management were in the same position, and I just have to rant about this for a second because this is a problem I've run into in the workplace a lot lately. Promotion from within is not always a great idea for a business, and sure, it can be great if staff are given the proper training, but something I've noticed with the corporation I work for is that they like to promote from within so they can skirt around the up front cost of getting somebody with proper training for the position. The owners, or whoever is in charge, have favorite's and these are usually the people who end up getting promoted, and because they have no experience in management the company can get away with paying a lower wage because they're "in training" and they're also a lot easier to manipulate. It makes so much sense to me that Evermore would have a toxic promotion cycle like this because if they were to hire somebody who actually had training, experience, or education, they wouldn't put up with all the bullshit, and they would cost more, which is something the park needs, but also will probably never do. It just bugs me because it almost always ends up in the people being promoted having way too much responsibility thrust onto their shoulders with none of the proper preparation. I've seen so many people get promoted this way and then slowly dissolve into a withered shell of themselves because they're so stressed. It's notable too, that often times they were promoted in the first place because they were recognized by upper management as a hard worker, aka. somebody who will sacrifice for the company and be pushed around easily. Which means they're now in charge of fixing the mess they've been promoted into but they are still completely restricted by the instructions of the upper management who actually created the mess in the first place. Its a system that sets it's people up for failure and makes the turnover rate make so much sense.

Jenny Nicholson

I mean I just narrated multiple paragraphs from Evermore Historium: Coins of the Revenant: Book 1: Chapter 2

Just Helen, but also, Indecision

As someone who works in continuing TV drama - yeah, people burn out all the time! Jenny is right, they plan for that and get more people in! It's a very strange excuse to be like "long form storytelling is simply too hard we had to give up" when shows have run for DECADES. Speaking of, knowing the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes of even quite chaotically plotted shows makes Evermore's "just throw any old shit at the wall" approach genuinely professionally stressful.

James Best

so down for a fnaf video

Morgan Venkus

Oof, the candid discussion of how people at the park were mistreated by guests (and how ultimately little the park was doing about it) was so hard to listen to. "Our actors have PTSD from working here" is an insane thing to have to say (and like you mentioned, it's extra insane that she's saying it as an official representative of the company interacting with press)

RonLad

Hi Bob! I understand trying to defend and stand up for the park. But the park is a mess and will never get fixed because there is no money to fix it. And the way to do the storytelling is a time loop. Where everyone can perform the same act each day and repeat guests can view other actors performing to get more of the story. And it can still build to a finale.

Anna O.

When I've gone to events with interactive actors, there are signs up at the entrance and in the park reminding guests that they are not allowed to touch the actors and that doing so will result in immediate expulsion from the event. The local amusement park does a big Halloween event every year with multiple haunted houses, and you get a spiel from the door person at every haunted house with the reminder not to touch the actors. One guy was like, "You may not touch the actors. The actors may not touch you physically, but they may touch you emotionally." Like, they're very clear about it, and that's not really that hard to communicate.

Fnaf 👎

Ishaan Sahai

She clearly isn’t acquainted with your William W. Johnstone work

joebear

as a huge fnaf fan for a long time a video on it from your perspective would be interesting especially since most parts of the movie i was thinking how much people who don’t know the franchise would be so confused

Lucy J

Hi Bob

joebear

still sad williams full potential wasn’t in the movie because his backstory n stuff is compelling

Luis

The star of this ramble was Jenny's fairy voice 😂 I watched that scene 10 times in a row it was amazing! Oh also if the FNAF vid happens I'd like to see Jenny try and dress as Chica with that evil cupcake thing.

Tristan Kernick

Okay, the management Q&A part is absolutely mind-boggling. It’s buck wild that somebody affiliated with the park would come out and say, “Oh yeah, sexual assault happens ALL the time here.”

Oliver Mumford

I'd definitely be interested in a FNAF video, even as somebody who knows next to nothing about the franchise- your videos on new films are always fun. It would also be nice to see some Christmassy content at some point, although maybe it's too short notice at this point. Not that my opinion on these things counts for much, just make whatever kinds of videos you're passionate about. :P

Lindsey Keefer

The amount of weird twists in this video omg. That skull story sounds like a kid playing pretend, especially with the affected accent lmao

M

I will never get tired of evermore content Alsoooo scrolling through all these comments to see if Bob popped in definitely paid off 👀

Michel Treadway

“Who would sign that kind of paperwork day of without letting their lawyers look at it?” did bring Kanye to mind

Markus D

I'm normally like that, but I have a positive interest in Jenny's content and I'm pretty sure she's only thinking of covering the movie and not looking to have a researched deep dive into the games.

David Arroyo

This is pretty old but I would love to hear your thoughts on Patrick Spikes and his interrogation video when he was caught for the Buzzy theft. I know you did a video before they caught him so it be interesting to hear you speak about afterwards

Raquel71558

Did anyone else notice around 2:18:56 there's a girl that looks to be dressed up as Greg from over the garden wall during the Evermore livestream! Totally random but I love that show and thought that was cute lol

roo

YESSS FNAF VIDEO YES!!!!!

TWiNSAUCE

LOVED THIS LONG VIDEO!

Mike Musker

do they have a show writer? how is it simultaneously so clear that nothing has been planned but also crazily draconian in its plot developments?? why not give the actors a real monologue for the finale (and even some stock lines for everyday interactions) so that they don’t just ramble inaudibly about stuff that happened offscreen?

Caroline

@evermore bob what do u have to say for yourself 🎤🎤🤨 also yes pls x1000 to FNAF vid :-)

Hi Bob

Yes, please do FNAF!

That is such a classic, literally centuries old, con. Have an accomplice feed info to the "clairvoyant" or whatever the act is and amaze the audience by how much they magically know. Ooooh ahhh wow.

Lambda34Delta

I don't have words for my reaction to that Q&A. The amount of times I audibly gasped in pure horror listening to the things that woman said... I mean, some of it because I was shocked at her mean spiritedness in some of her comments like the "too bad for you" remark, but also because of the things that she described happening, and the statistics she was presenting, and the stuff she talked about happening to her, holy shit. I think in the end I can only really feel bad for her and how she's another person being exploited by this carnival huckster scheme of a theme park and one in a line of workers mistreated and traumatized by it while also being forced to be the public face and speak for it. Good lord. I mean I don't know that she's being forced maybe she sincerely volunteered but still, what a difficult position to be in. (also that overly convoluted ghost story is genuinely the funniest shit ever omg I think the way the actor presents it so seriously just makes it better)

Day

It kind of baffles me that there are still diehard fans of evermore. How have they not become disillusioned by all of its bs ?? It doesn’t even seem like a very fun place to go lol

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S!!!!!!!!!!

Collin Vickers

I'm 100% here for Evermore-related content.

sappho's scullery maid

in my home town in the uk, what has been described as 'the world's biggest play park' has recently opened. it's themed as an 'elven village' (but is supposed to have houses associated with multiple clans of fantasy creatures??) and at one point the gimmick was supposed to be that it was 'christmas all year' until they realised that was dumb. it's basically our very own evermore but what's extra fun and weird about it is that instead of a former tech ceo, it was built by a literal duchess who lives in the castle next door to where the playpark is (a castle that was famously used as a filming location for harry potter) so it's kind of like a cross between evermore park and marie antoinette's hamlet at versaille in that its a fantasy village she built on the grounds of her castle. also, she stated she wanted to build it to 'get those damn kids off their phones' (her words paraphrased) which is pretty funny to me. the reviews have been pretty bad so far, there have been injuries and also its almost entirely staffed by local teens who dress up as elves to interact with the kids. it has been a fascination for me to watch and hear about its development (there's even been a weird propoganda-y 'documentary' on british tv following the duchess as she develops it) and when the first evermore video dropped, me and my friends were all joking about the similarities.

Thom Kitimat

Alnwick I'm guessing? I once spent several hours clearing pondweed out of a pond in their garden as "volunteering" so the Evermore parallels are oddly apt...

Franquette

On the subject of pay inequality, it's really bad in Utah. Men earn 37% more than women on average. And among BYU graduates specifically, men earn 90% more than women. It's egregious. And it's really sad to see a Utah based woman pretending it's not happening. The general ignorance about this situation is a part of what perpetuates it.

Erin Dugan

Good luck jennie 🤝🤝🤝🤝

Val

I never get tired of Evermore videos! And YES to a Five Nights at Freddy’s video!

Ann Parker

And it seems like people may not be aware that sexist intent doesn't have to be there for it to be illegal. Like even if all the male candidates negotiated up and the female ones didn't, if the net result is men being paid more than women for doing the same job, you're still opening up to a lawsuit.

Ann Parker

Mad respect to that actor for selling it as best he could

Evan

Bretschneider is such a perfect example of the Idea Guys who float around any creative field shouting about how if THEY were in charge they'd totally make the most badass thing ever and show all those dummies how it's done. Turns out when one of those guys actually has the money to take a swing at it he does stupid stuff like blow the entire budget on real gravestones because actually making a theme park/movie/game/etc takes a lot more than just a cool idea. I'm not surprised he responds to criticism by lashing out and moaning about cancel culture or whatever; I'm sure he'll spend the rest of his life thinking Evermore failing to catch on was everyone's fault but his own.

Mandora

„The Illusion of Building a Theme Park“ by Ken Bretschneider: Learn all the secrets to the „fake it till you make it“ method and (Ever)more! …Although it would probably have to be a what-not-to-do and pitfalls book for it to be credible and have a shot at the New York Times bestseller list (: Maybe then there will be enough money to revive his theme park?

Kyle Williams

Right now I'm about 1.5 hours in and in the middle of the video with the manager. It is wild that not only do they have someone with no media relations experience giving official statements on behalf of the park, but that they either did it as a live stream or filmed the video and thought "yeah, that's good, put it out". That absolutely should have been filmed ahead of time and reviewed before releasing it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we got it. But from a business perspective it is beyond shocking that it is an official, sanctioned video put out by Evermore.

lunatalks

loved this video a lot!! thank you for the updates!!! i would KILL to hear a fnaf video from you!!

evie sligh

i honestly love the evermore content and i really appreciate how much you focus on actor safety in ur criticisms!! also idk if you’ve ever heard of a haunted house called the darkness? but it seems like you’d rly like some of the animatronics/puppets in the scare maze

SpaceLice

I was thinking of Trapped in an Island with Josh Hutcherson the whole time I watched FNAF. I would loooove a video on it!

Brett Lassoff

Was the gaslighter the the random guy on the Jenny subreddit who kept insisting that Jenny's video was filmed the day Evermore reopened after Covid? That dude would not shut up and was just wrong. Was he the park gaslighter? He also insisted that the second visit was all Quincy's fault. Repeatedly.

Who Are These People

Sorry, had to skip the whole Discord chat section of this video, I cannot stand hearing "managers" be so disingenuous. "I wasn't here when it happened so I can't speak to that." "Will it happen again?" "No!". These people are genuinely so brainless they don't even realize they display their lies so clearly. I grew up thinking people like this were trying to be clever or devious, but it looks like they're just flat-out mentally dysfunctional.

Scott Carter

A Five Night's at Freddy's video would be REALLY good I feel

Keith Hasperg

Ok, Editor Jenny’s summary of the skull situation was one of her funniest moments…BEWARE!

Jenny Nicholson

I don't really keep up with reddit(s) so idk who you're talking about but I have heard that several times about going right after covid. I think at one time I also believed it was true cause I kept hearing it lol. Probably because the time of my visit was pretty shortly after things opened back up for californians, the vaccines had just become widely available, so it was the first season since their reopening that I could do non-emergency travel. I think I expressed that poorly in my video. But yeah I think in actuality they only ever closed for like 3-6 months of 2020, in fact I think the Carpetbagger video I used clips of was shot in like summer 2020 because everyone was still halfheartedly trying to mask per county requirements. So by the time I visited it was like their 3rd or 4th season of being reopened

Skylar

Yess like this is another movie he could act out in the island ❤️

Madison Nuss

(I would love an fnaf video.) It was really fun to see MagiQuest! There used to be a standalone one in the town I grew up in, and it was my favorite place ever--I completed all the quests and got as much merch as my parents would allow me to spend my money on. I think I even got one of those wand holsters. I was never brave enough to dress up but always wanted to, so MagiQuest in a place where cosplay is expected would be a dream for me!

Mickey

While I personally agreed that animatronics was a better fit for the season, and that an Evermore video would be more appropriate in a month or two, I absolutely was not disappointed by this video! The live stream alone made it worth it. My jaw was on the floor pretty much that whole section just... yikes. I almost feel bad for the park rep. I don't think Ken thinks things through enough to intentionally designate someone as a scapegoat (the rest of that clip about the set design guy really sheds some light on the type of person Ken likely is to me), but that is what is essentially happening. I get the feeling she has worked with the park for a while, but I also get the feeling that she not only hasn't done media training, but that her customer service experience is probably limited to basic things, and nothing that requires more nuance (like a guest services position). Because in positions that require any degree of nuance you learn that you've often gotta couch what you're saying so that either what you're saying is possibly taken better, or so that it isn't taken the wrong way. And it's clear that while she is well spoken the rep just...does not have experience navigating those kinds of things on likely even a smaller level, much less on a larger scale (like acting as an official rep in media appearances). But even beyond that, stuff like openly admittedly the park has a huge issue with guests' assault of actors that likely has been a problem since day one and has continued to this day, and openly addressing Jenny's video (at least in this casual a manner) are beyond unbelievable to me. Then of course there's Bob's entire character arc in this video, only to find him in these comments. Genuinely wild.

Mickey

Though, I did wonder-- if the park really is telling the truth about the Convergence and they had nothing to do with ticket sales, wouldn't that mean that they weren't the ones selling the $1k tickets, and they wouldn't have been offering them to influencers for free to get free advertising? (Not sure I believe them when they say that, but Jenny seemed convinced that them only being involved as a venue wouldn't mean they weren't involved in the scammy parts of the operation, and I wasn't sure if there's something I missed, since to my understanding the ticket prices were (primarily) the scammy part of the whole thing.)

Petie

Thanks for another great video Jenny. We know it takes hours and always enjoy your stuff!

Building onto the impossible but lovely dream: if Evermore merged with Magiquest, you could introduce different classes. Instead of only wands, you could have short swords, tiny bows, daggers, lutes, a tiny imp (for warlocks) and so forth. Straight up build off Evermore's existing guilds. Regulars could then collect the different merch and quests for the classes. It'd be LARPing at a new level. That'd be so much fun.

Polly Flores

You’re telling me there was a rumour that Kanye West was going to invest in the park that had a feud with Taylor Swift? I wonder why people believed that

TalkieSoundBox

I'd like to see a FNAF video just so I can finally understand what people see in that franchise. In every horror movie discord I'm in there are always like obsessive FNAF fans comparing it to classic horror and saying things like "it's better than anything Stephen King ever wrote" and it takes everything I have to stay my hand. Either these people are all 13 years old or this franchise must be the best thing since sliced bread.

Xylia Stargazer

Great video! I loved watching it, but oh my god, I don't think I could watch the part with the manager again. Just so sad and aggravating to hear about those issues from the general manager and no suggestions to do anything about it besides a blacklist it takes multiple strikes to get on. Would love a FNAF video though!

Xylia Stargazer

Oh also, the Q&A reactions to talking about the Convergence were so weird. Even if they didn't consider it their event, the park's buildings were closed to guests with no actors during VIP days, right? Are they suggesting that that's all Quincy's fault and he didn't actually reserve the park's actors for the two VIP days? Wish we could get a clear answer on that but pretty weird either way. I don't understand their nonchalance at throwing away free advertising like that while also thinking it doesn't impact Evermore's reputation if an event like that goes sour.

Keith Hasperg

I also would love a FNAF vid! I’m interested in all scary movies, and so those tend to be my favorite vids of yours, when there’s anything remotely scary involved.

Sunny

I am like a small Victorian orphan going door to door begging for Evermore scraps to feast upon, and Jenny has provided a hardy thanksgiving meal. There is literally no end to my hunger for more Evermore content, it is just such a baffling story.

Sarah

You'd have to do a lot of fictionalisation, but i think a show about a guy trying to make a evermore-like themepark could be fun. Slings and Arrows and Fireballs.

Sarah

Project Managers are like, the DMs of the office world. A thankless job, everyone thinks they could do it better, but if you don't have one, NOTHING GETS DONE.

Uspre

i would love to see you make a fnaf video! i know from your twitter youre not familiar with the games and as someone who also isnt i think that perspective makes it like 50x funnier so i think it would be great content

god’s favorite sacrificial lamb

honestly i had a good laugh in the return to evermore video when you said you were scared to show your face because i was like, jenny, you’re acting like they have your face up in the back with PUBLIC ENEMY NO 1 written above it……but clearly they kinda do!

Machati

The lady in the livestream.. is that the same woman as those Evermore videos with the puppets? She sounds familiar. Also, I'd love to see a FNAF video! It's got that theme park/restaurant situation so your take on it would probably be really interesting :)

Mac Monkeyhat

The woman in the livestream saying that if your evermore video had come out a week later the suggestions you made would have already been would have been done is so funny. Like you JUST made those changes the week that video came out? And that's just a coincidence?

Lauren Jorges

that q&a portion was surreal. like obviously they knew about your videos but how absurd to be a theme park and publicly address it, and to do so in this really unprepared format.

James Palermo

Yea i struggled to maintain my calm during that.

James Palermo

You should invest in a top to spin.

Franki Lew and Kitschy Cats

Not even much of a larper myself but Dickens fair is so cool! So atmospheric. I'm sorry to hear anyone gets hurt when it comes to stuff that's supposed to be fun like cosplay like that.

carlee elizabeth

a ) i'll never be tired of hearing about evermore b ) omg yes please do a five nights at freddy's video

Towers of Hanoi

I had no idea Brandon Sanderson wants to open his own bookstore, but I love your hypothetical EverSander fusion

Ella B

I'll never be tired of evermore, would LOVE a yearly video

Brett Lassoff

The person kept repeating the talking points you mentioned in the video. You simply went at the "wrong time" even though they were wrong about when you went. It felt like a deliberate campaign by Evermore rather than a park stan since the talking points were so consistent.

Gel D

I hope you do go back every year. I will literally watch all of your Evermore content at least three times. There's something about Evermore and the way you discuss it that I find incredibly compelling; maybe because it feels like such an exciting and immersive idea but it's just not executed well, so it fires my imagination but doesn't give me FOMO for not actually going. But I've also seen videos online of glimpses of what I wish it was: beautiful locations (shot at night, as you've rightly pointed out, since that works best), compelling character interactions, complex stories guests can be part of. I do hope that Evermore does at least one more season like that and that you're able to go, though from the sound of things it's a little less and less every time as they lose money and public interest/goodwill. :( Still, for as long as there is an Evermore, I have hope, and I think that's what these videos both feed and comfort (since they make me feel I'm not actually missing the magical experience I'm imagining).

Becky

I called immediate- IMMEDIATE bull when he said Meow Wolf. I can't believe anyone would even SAY that, let alone believe it...

Ziede

FNAF video sounds fun!!

Grillustration

Bring the FNAF! Also, I don't get tired of the Evermore story since it is quite a fascinating one.

Monica McFadden

Love the idea that when this Victorian family's child died, they gave the other kid not just a doll but a VENTRILOQUIST'S DUMMY of their deceased twin. Also, I'm very disappointed they didn't word-for-word copy the origin of the evil dummy from Goosebumps.

Iris

why not?

Iris

Right? And they would cast a charming silver fox (who can actually move his face) as the lead, maybe make his wife a fleshed-out character who doesn't always look like she's just been crying...

Iris

Venture capital is just so immoral at its very foundation that by definition nobody who gets into it is interested in helping people.

Iris

It's wild that he tries to defend it while releasing video that makes it look like a dumpster fire.

SoWasWieEinFan

I would LOVE a FNAF Video from you. Not just because I'd like to hear your take on the super confusing Lore, but also because you really love Animatronics and you bring in a lot of knowledge about that. Haven't really seen someone talk about FNAF from that angle yet. As for Evermore the entire story is just fascinating for me. I don't think I'd be ever bored of it. I completely understand not wanting to make a video on it for a while now, if only to not burn out yourself on that topic.

Petie

hi, bob!

IShallRiseAgain

I miss your old random relatively shorter videos, so I'd definitely be interested in a FNAF video.

Markus D

It's that first one; a lot of fans are kids and teens. The concept started off as good for an indie game, even though the plot was contrived, because you weren't meant to think about it, but eventually it got stupidly convoluted and stopped being an effective horror story.

Markus D

Agreed. I get it back when there were more involved stories and actors because you could either be one of the fans that got to have a lot of influence or delude yourself into thinking that you'd GET to be one of those fans, but now there's like, nothing to latch onto.

Zane

I love hearing about evermore shenanigans, you think it’s hit its peak and just keeps getting wilder

Liz Jones

My jaw is on the floor with the sexual assault section of the livestream. I am very sorry for all the current and former employees who clearly are not working in a remotely safe environment.

Lindsay

Right? And that Bob thought her one-off joke in the Avatar water park video about that being her Evermore was an earnest comment on her part lol. Just a lot of delusion or outright lies all around

yakgak5000

As a long time FNAF fan, guarantee that the adult fans who give the story and horror such high praise bought into the idea that every choice is deliberate and that what lore theorists and competent fans create is what the actual canon is like. In reality, it not well written, the complexity it's credited with is just convolusion wrapped in nonsense, every new game for about five games was just an addendum to clarify a poorly conveyed detail from the previous. If there is a video made I'd watch it, but if you want a good FNAF story I'd recommend the VHS and analog Horror series as they are far more competent in story telling.

Sarah Dunavant

i, like many, am eternally pro-evermore content. also strongly pro-FNAF video!!!

Ash D

i need a poster of the cover of that ebook novella

Samantha Castelli

I think a five nights at freddy's video sounds so interesting!!

cara hughes

fnaf video sounds so fun!!!

Gabby

Would love an FNAF video! Specifically your thoughts on the animatronics??? I loved the movie personally and am curious on your thoughts

bunny!

i will never get tired of evermore videos it’s at a point where after almost every video i watch youtube autoplays the evermore video bc they know i will watch it in full and i will do so every single time

Samantha M

I will always watch a new Evermore video

Captain Langosta AKA The Yellow Dart AKA Kyle

I'm glad we got that villain tier list, finally! F Tier: Current management D Tier: Previous management C Tier: Management before them B Tier: The skullduggerous Beldam A Tier: Ken S Tier: That dude wearing Tip-Top's skin

maculous

Ok, the MagiQuest mention got me very excited and hopeful for a Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg related video. It's my fav tourist trap and I would love to see Jenny do a video about it. Also thank you for the continued evermore content, it is getting me thru med school finals prep rn

MacButchPro

I 100% wanna hear your thoughts on the fnaf movie. Especially if they're gonna be in the same vein as ur creepypasta videos where you say what you think works and what Doesn’t.

Caio Santos

It's wild that people think that going on the wrong day is not a direct sign of a failing business

Lex

i am glad im not alone here

Matt Bonacci

You being directly shaded in an video from evermore people is just wild and killing me

bramblepaws

FNAF video would be so fun! Also this video was fantastic.

Lindsay

Yeah, I seem to remember she mentioned in a past ramble that she filmed a bunch of content on TN tourist spots! Would definitely be cool to see, though I can also understand if it seems too outdated now :(

Lily

where’s the new evermore video she referenced?

Naorée

I gasped multiple time during this one, ESPECIALLY the live QnA. Big Evermore Brother is watching, spooky!!!

Grizzly Reviews

This might be the most important video in the trilogy hearing from the park what’s actually going on inside. And to see them directly shade Jenny and her reaction to it was amazing and hilarious. Would love to see a FNAF video, even if it’s negative. I really liked the movie and I’d love to know your thoughts on it!

call-me-mothman

Omg pls give me yearly evermore updates, I have just binge watched all three videos and have such a morbid interest in this stupid park

Ted Koutz

It might be: Bonus: The Return to Evermore that was posted a few months back, it's listed in the stickied comment or it's one of the last couple videos

Lily

yess i found it thank you

Michelle

I enjoy the Evermore updates and yes please to the FNAF video!

Ash D

S+ has got to be maxwell

Tiffany Webb

Are there any plans to release a preview for the Star Cruiser video? I got really excited when you said last time that it would be out in November. And I know you're busy but a preview would really make my day. You posting a video is really a highlight of my month.

Elyse

The Q&A is a genuinely jaw-dropping combination of what are clearly the "party line" turns of phrase responding to real criticism (i.e. "outdated" observations) mixed with what feels like thoughtless honesty. The lack of media training is so real and it comes off defensive. I get why when you're *all in* but like...clearly this isn't working Ken!!! Do something actually different, like fix your attitude!

Elyse

I'd get used to it and then remember it and be so amused all over again

Nadia Wheeler

Thanks for the additional Evermore tea! I'm not tired of it at all! But I would enjoy a FNAF quick video if you were excited about it! Looking forward to Starcruiser when you feel able to finish. :-)

Peyton

Ken making his professional business statements via personal FB is soooooo Utah

A T

I recently joined your patreon because I wanted more Evermore trainwreck videos so I'm glad to see you excited to talk more about it, and possibly create more Evermore content in the future.

brenda

jenny i would like to say that a fnaf video would be wonderful and if you want to do it please do! thank you <3

ashton

Not only is it astonishing how bad she made the park look, the Q+A woman reminds me of many managers I've had. The type of person who will step on the employees under her and throw them under the bus in order to raise her own standing. I thought Bob really sucked for just accepting all of her answers uncritically until I remembered she is his boss, I guess. The whole thing is so bizarre.

Jacob A Trepczyk

I'd love to see a fnaf video, the movie was such a weird mix of fun ban and bad bad

David Pew

just so you're aware, Brandon Sanderson just announced plans to build a themed bookstore in Utah. they said it's in early development and that they're still looking for land to purchase in the Utah county area (the area Evermore is located). they didn't mention Evermore by name, but their plans for the area surrounding it was ambitious enough I wouldn't be surprised if they're considering that spot

O

Please do a Five Nights at Freddie's video!

Lise K

Evermore using AI generated images on their website and audiodrama is truly exactly what I expected they would do

Travis Jackson

Omg I lost it when she read "ozymandias nodded"

alex

a fnaf video would make people go so insane, if you want to do it you definitely should! thank you for another amazing video thank you for all the work you put in:)

Daniel Ringer

Jenny, I can't believe you did six hours of Evermore videos and only now mentioned they have novels for some reason.

arnique

YES! Five Nights of Freddy video please!

Gemma

I'm quite literally begging you to make a fnaf video

Scotty

You, in particular, doing a Five Nights at Freddy's video sounds fantastic. You doing a horror video game sounds ironic. But it is about an animatronic restaurant, which is technically among your specialties.

Javiera Scarratt

i can't deal with the way that the witch story guy says 'skull', most of his speech sounds like a fine theatrical/affected british accent, but then he says 'skklll' and completely squashes the 'u' sound in SUCH an american way, it's literally identical to how jenny says it and it bugs me every single time (and he says 'skull' a lot of times in that story)

Woody Sims

“I’ve been a Patreon subscriber just to keep eyes on the Evermore situation.” I laugh as Jenny makes a funny face and begin to rub my weary eyes. My hands instinctively recoil as they meet a foreign shape. They begin to shake as I look with these unfamiliar eyes upon hands that are not my own. “He’s among us! You guys, he’s here!” Her words barely making it through the panic overtaking my body. I sprint to the bathroom and without daring to look in the mirror, turn the faucet on and begin splashing water on my face. As my dripping hands explore a foreign face, desperately searching for anything familiar, a flash of memories. A tripod, a camera, a manager without media training sitting next to me. Questions. viewers. Blacklists. “This can’t be possible!” I try to talk myself into believing. “I’ve never been to Evermore. I haven’t even been in Utah state lines and over a decade.” But these statements fail to convince me, and like Quincy during the Convergence, all other possibilities disappear before I can engage with them. I slowly tilt my head to look in the mirror and confirm the horrible truth I already know: I was Bob the entire time.

Gabby

Brilliant omg

Cynthia

The fact that this season pass costs more than the gold Dollywood pass that gets you so much more is crazy.

Marissa Collins

It's almost like he's saying "school" or "skaal" or ... gahhhhhhh

Morgan Rowley

you are my comfort youtuber. this month has been rough, as is for most people during the holidays when deadlines are closing in. i've missed your videos and decided to subscribe to your patreon once i realized you post other videos here. not to sound parasocial, but thank you for always being here, i rewatch your videos a ton and im so glad you post here.

Greta

seeing as this will be your last evermore vid for a bit, it’s just so crazy to think about how much potential this park had. people love the ren faire and want to have a place they can escape to and they fumbled so bad. my local ren faire is awesome, and while there are many i assume employees there, almost everyone is in character. evermore just tried to create so much lore that isn’t tangible to all visitors. they could keep the lore about what evermore is and the portals lore or whatever that all is. people obviously want to have a similar dnd adjacent and feel like they are on a journey but i think that is an experience that is more or less impossible to recreate in such a small environment. such a shame!!! but ren faires reign supreme with their yelling men selling pickles

Sarah

on my [redacted] rewatch/listen of the trilogy, i think a big problem is that they want very individual Characters with DnD-PlayerCharacter worth of Backstory and agency, but also a big dramatic story, and also the guests are supposed to be the player characters. Most people would probably be happy with a renfaire level of character archetypes and a setting of 'generic fantasy but we also have steampunk because its fun'. Then the actors could have more freedom to do improv and do little things with each other (maybe the tavernkeeper has beef with the pirate queen. it doesn'z have to affect anything, but it could be fun to ask around and get different characters opinion) .

Sarah

And thats exactly the stuff that ( a lot) of dnd players love! It seems like they keep hiring managers who are bad at organizing, actors who are bad at improv, and writers who are bad at writing escape-room style small stories.

L Stutt

Your impression of an adorkable evermore actor was so on point it was nauseating to listen to, great job

Woody Sims

Thank y-Wait, BOB??????

Woody Sims

If you’re Bob, and I’m Bob, then who’s flying the plane?

Becca H

Just fell down a rabbit hole looking into this, it seems like so much fun! If anyone has been I'd love to hear about it.

noah

I'm only halfway through the video, but can I point out how absolutely bonkers it is to hear their management say "We like to plan things out way way way in advance which is why we're already planning for our 2024 year" in August of 2023?? Maybe it's just my frame of reference since I work in finance (which is obviously pretty different from small theme park management), but most healthily-functioning companies have roadmaps for at least the next three years - and more commonly 5-10 years - that they revisit every year to either ensure they're on track or figure out why they're off track to 1. fix it to get back on schedule or 2. retool the roadmap to be more realistic if fixing it isn't possible. The fact that they consider planning for 2024 when they're already 2/3 of the way through 2023 as "planning way in advance" is such an enormous red flag that I had to rewind the video to make sure I didn't mishear her say 2025 somehow. This is also putting aside the fact that planning four months ahead for a theme park that heavily relies on storytelling and interactive actors to provide an experience for customers is so obviously not enough time to create a compelling story, write guidelines for actors (and scripts for the scripted parts), design costumes if needed, acquire decorations / set pieces to help with the atmosphere, and everything else that I'm not even thinking of because I'm not the one who's working in management at a theme park! It's genuinely kind of impressive how Evermore is managing to screw up every possible element of running an even semi-functioning company - like Ken was successful in the past, was he just sorta hands-off with the management of his other projects and more competent people handled the operations? Did he just get lucky? Is running a theme park just a vastly different endeavor to any other kind of business? I need answers and I'm never going to get them TT_TT Sorry for the comment rant - I work in project management which involves a lot of long-term roadmap development and shorter-term project planning, hearing that one sentence shook me to my core and I need to make other people understand because holy shit

Celia

I saw some popular dnd cosplayers doing a little dance in my fyp and I instantly recognized the dragons head from the tavern at evermore!!! So I guess that answers ur whose making content there questions!

Clairm

HI BOB

KaptainMorgan

Brandon Sanderson actually just made an announcement that he's interested in building a kind of tourist area themed around his company. Doesn't exactly sound like a theme park, but it features an old-looking castle so Evermore could be a place they have an eye on for building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L8iJpikvSE&t=286s

aus

pleaseeeee five nights at freddy video lol

Birdie

PLEASE A FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S VIDEO....this is like a dream of mine jenny meets fnaf

Princemango

loved this video! this was so telling we got so much more info from the inside of evermore i was losing it when they mentioned you. A fnaf video sounds awesome!

Angelica Benitez

Does anyone have a link to that Evermore Q&A?

Nathaniel Lovin

His company is also buying up all the land around Evermore

Martin G

Before watching the video I assumed "The Ghost of Evermore" was the title Evermore employees had given you in their hushed conversations

Lazlo Nibble

“If TV shows were written like this”…isn’t that basically the original 1960s Dark Shadows?

Steven Clark

The offhand reference to the idea of "the equivalent of Halloween scare mazes for Christmas" intrigues me. Somebody should do that. Scare actors dressed as Santa Claus. Brightly lit rooms full of tinsel and inflatable snowmen. Christmas music playing at full blast. There could even be licensed mazes at Six Flags that are themed after famous Christmas movies, so park employees dressed as Will Ferrell in Elf jump out and scream in your face.

BestStressed

COVID is going around again and I really hope Jenny isn't getting it! D:

BestStressed

I was just thinking this, that they should have done more research on the operational challenges of a Ren Faire. It seems to me that Ken had his success with the immersive VR maze things, and then was like, "what if that but one big location and you could just wander around it and do whatever you wanted and interact with improv actors?" But the thing is that you have to choose. Super immersive... or big and open-ended. Because super-immersive AND big and open-ended is not possible except in a video game. In real life it's not sustainable. The closest thing I've ever seen to what he seems to have wanted to do was the Northern CA Renaissance Faire in Blackpoint Forest, which I worked at in the 80s when I was a kid. It really spoiled me for other Ren Faires because it was intensely atmospheric. It had the usual food and trinket shops and entertainment, but the variety even within those was really high - not just turkey legs, fantasy jewelry, a blacksmith shop, and a few acrobats. There was no mishmash of generic fantasy peasant wenches; all the players were divided into camps with their own backstory - the Scot's guild, the Irish guild, the Sea Dogs, the Washerwomen, the merchant's guild, the nobles (an entire diverse court of them), etc etc. At different points I was part of a Children's Guild that would wander around and stop in various places to play period games and sing period songs; and part of the Scot's guild where we'd do a few shows with highland dancing and singing on stage, and spend part of our time in our home base camp spinning or waulking tartan or doing other Scottish peasant things. Just so much stuff there just to be color, basically. For customers, there was immersion and people to have one-on-one interactions with everywhere. It was absolutely magical. If I could time travel it'd be the first place I went. But even there they weren't trying anything as ambitious as an overarching storyline that guests could significantly interact with. The problem was it was completely unsustainable and didn't even vaguely resemble a business enterprise. You got paid ~$30 a day as an adult (as a kid they gave you a $5/day food allowance which was a joke) for like... maybe 30 days of work? You had to make or buy your own costumes - and the costumes were no joke either. You had to get them approved by the people who were in charge of period authenticity and I remember one year the tartan I wore as part of mine got rejected because it had some purple in it. It wasn't a purple TARTAN, mind, it just had some strands of a heathery reddish-purple as part of its overall pattern. It got rejected because my Scottish peasant character wouldn't have had access to purple dye in Renaissance Britain. So it was essentially a volunteer thing for everyone, from the Queen on down to the kids. It was a labor of love spearheaded by a few tunnel-visioned megalomaniacs that were willing to plow immense amounts of their own time in so they could swan around an immersive Renaissance world in velvet 15 weekends a year. It was always riding on the ragged edge of folding if the delicate balance of volunteer interest and limited money and people willing to essentially do complex management of an all-volunteer workforce for free didn't add up right. And eventually it didn't. I think this is what Ken wanted to create but he was completely naive about what kind of resources it would take. It might actually have been more likely to work the way he wanted if he'd envisioned it as some kind of non-profit where they actually COULD get a lot of volunteer effort.

BestStressed

I legit can't imagine who would have the patience and interest to do this job OTHER THAN dedicated DnD folks.

Greta

Exactly! There is certainly an audience for a highly role-play themed park. I think the only way "quests" could work in a way that is concise is in an app format. While i think an app sort of takes the immersion out of some of the high fantasy elements... it is more feasible than hoping that every cast-member can relay lore and quests in an accurate way. Or the park would have to be of huge scale, so then there felt like a journey in-between quests. A highly interactive roleplay theme park sounds amazing, but I think the only way it works is like the renfaire, where it is more a glorified festival & market/artisan goods event. People can act in character, but there is less risk than having to account for so many employees with so few eyes on them at any given moment. I think if they found a way to make the renfaire a bit more dynamic with a simple quest based mechanic, you could enhance it. But as it stands, this is a hard thing to do! Ken clearly just had done too much too soon, but to be fair, stil a lot of elements at play that just werent managed as well.

Joe Milligan

I love your deep dives into Evermore because at this point the “lore” around it has become its own epic drama—paralleling (Class) Action Park from decades ago! I wonder if there are any other parks/attractions out there with equally crazy stories waiting to be discovered…👀 And to your ending question—would love to see shorter reaction-style videos in between your big projects!! I have to tell myself (a perfectionist artist…on the side—gotta pay rent!) that even half finished sketches make money. They may not be a multi-day masterpiece, but most people eat them up and love the “authenticity” Anyway, don’t hold yourself back by not posting more casual/shorter videos if you want! Sometimes the raw/first draft ideas are the ones that people find most compelling/beautiful/entertaining! ❤️

James D.

I am utterly fascinated by the saga of Evermore. And Ken's complete lack of soul. I'd honestly up my pledge if there was more. It's a topic that has everything: hubris, dragons, and rank incompetence.

Keith Hasperg

I often wanted to post the same thing, so I’m glad you did. The holidays are my roughest time of year, so being able to put on Jenny and listen to her talk so hilariously about spiders or something non-holiday related is such a huge lift during a difficult time of year. And I agree, thank you to Jenny and also her many cool fans on here.

picture posts

plzzzzz do a fnaf video it would make my life good

Sarah

A Spectre is haunting Evermore

Jantonaitis

It reminds me of Star Citizen.

SeptSapphire

Some MagiQuest locations did have actors! Not for the FMV role since I guess that would be difficult to keep up with so many guests needing your attention at the same time, but going there as a kid (at the standalone locations, not at Great Wolf Lodge ones lol) I remember the staff wore costumes and tried to speak in character when you would ask them where to find a certain component for a quest. I haven't been in a long time so I can't say if they still do this at some locations though. The big one in Myrtle Beach where I first went as a kid was the most immersive, with stuff you could point your wand at all along the boardwalk outside the building too, but it closed sadly :(

venipede

you should totally do a fnaf video i really like those kinds of your older videos

GlassesBlu

would love to see a FNAF video!

Kasey Miller

In Ashland, VA there’s a haunt place called Red Vein that’s a pet project for a lot of well known makeup/special effects artists. They do a different theme every year for Halloween and Christmas. The Halloween theme this year was a 90s rave turned werewolf pack that attacks the ravers. The Christmas theme this year is Krampus! I try to make it to both events every year even though I’m out of town. Happy to talk about previous seasons if anyone is curious :)

lonelyPirate

I love your Nevermore updates, one of my favorites patreon videos of yours!! I understand some people might be tired of it but I also like some topic less then others so it's only natural.

Audrey lopata

I feel like the weird ghost story is based on one of Hans Christian Anderson’s works. I don’t remember the tile, has anyone else heard of it?

Julianna Chianelli

I love hearing what you have to say about Evermore. And I'd also love to hear what you have to say about FNAF!

Cola

Yeah, usually going on the wrong day means you went during the busiest day of the year and weren't able to do anything because of crowds. Not that you went during a normal day where the park was operating with standard procedures.

Ola Sarcasm

if there is a "wrong way" or "wrong time" to go to a themepark, thats on the park not the customer haha Thanks for a fantastic surprise 2.5 hour video!! I could listen to you ramble for hours

Grimveldt

As a local I wonder if it's still worth going for the last few days it'll probably be open 🤔

Julia Goscinska

I don’t understand how there have EVER been fans of that place. It looks so depressing, awkward and ramshackle in the videos and has clearly been incompetently ran since the beginning. What did people love about it? Its really baffling.

Kevin Heater

Hey just found Jenny's Patreon, this is great I thought she retired or something, every few years I'd watch her stuff on YouTube and now I finally get to find out what happened to Evermore.

Magical Girl Mel

Honestly there is so much kitsch in the Dells that I feel like Jenny would get a kick out of.

Stephanie Low

tagging in here as a person who lived in SLC for half a decade and went to evermore twice (once shortly after it opened)... the haunted houses in utah are overall solid (shoutout specifically to Nightmare on 13th!), but evermore was disappointing and lackluster even when it was at its best.

Brent Knudsen

Yes, I would love to see a more casual video like 5 nights at Freddy’s or anything else really. The epic videos are great but I miss the short casual stuff you used to do too.

Tence Bakpao

I cannot get enough of you talking about Evermore. It is by far my favorite saga.

arianna

where is Bob??

Yeah, a full Cosmere park would be awesome although he'll have to really get onto it before he accidentally writes 9 new Cosmere series while trying to build a flatpack desk or however it normally happens and the required space becomes impossible for find. I was looked for this comment thread because (and this is driving me insane) I've thought of two more sufficiently iconic buildings that you could conceivably call a "castle" and the various Cosmere books and STILL none of them work conceptually. You've got Kredik Shaw, which would make a lot of sense as Mistborn Volume I was really when he took off but, while it does have an iconic shape, it's kind of intentional hideous. I really can't imagine building a version of Kredik Shaw to put a restaurant in. You've got Urithiru, which would just be impossible to make iconically Urithiru gven the whole point is it's so high up that all weather systems pass below it. You could do Elantris after it was fixed but it was his first novel and he's only written one short story about it since so I feel like it's not a priority for him. Plus, it was fixed for, at most, 5% of the book and you're not going to put a restaurant in an intensely themed version of crocked Elantris because it would traumatise literally every guest. That just leaves the palace of the... the really tall people who came back from the dead in Warbreaker (for a short book, there's so much information to hold onto but you know the ones. Immortal until they perform one miracle and then they die again... ...oooh, and while it's not technically as bad as it sounds, it would take much more explaining than you want to do as to why each of two of your heroes has to... steal a child's souls once a day but it's totally not as bad as it sounds... but it's also quite bad. So, I've still somehow got nothing. Am I missing any buildings you'd think would be iconic enough to warrant it without having some deal-breaker of a problem attached? EDIT: This is going to sound very silly but I'm quite proud of myself for remembering Blushweaver turned out always to have been a good person because it's been so long since I've read it, the pacing got insane towards the end and, I don't know, I was very happy when she turned out to be a noble soul who cared about the people rather the smug, self-absorbed manipulator you were obviously supposed to wonder whether she was but would have been so much more played out.

Emily Reynolds

I write murder mysteries for friends to act out at parties and so many of the clips of stories you show at Evermore remind me of the overly convoluted first drafts that I have to carefully edit and pare down to be understandable to normal people. Editing is important!!

Eric Houge

Man, the lady saying "Oh the actors just like to complain!" or whatever she said feels so much like all the interactions I've had in menial jobs with a member of middle management who likes to put out the cheerful "My office is always open, come to me with any problems!" persona and then when you show up to try to resolve a problem they just find a way to blame it all on you so they don't have to do anything.

Savannah Montgomery

oh my GOD i would truly lose my mind if this ends in brando sando taking a stab at evermore. plus he’s mormon so utah makes sense

Unsettling NPC

Evermore makes me think of Boomtown. It is a similar concept with attendees interacting with actors across multiple districts located out of time. Except it is a music festival. They have to rebuild it in a cow field each year but, the immersion looks wild. I recommend falling down the rabbit hole with them as well. They just did a storyline reset due to the pandemic but, the pre-pandemic storyline was out there. There were ARGs and videos during the off season to set up the next story. There was even a devious mayor storyline like Evermore.

The last of Evernote’s petty cash was used to pay to ship antique stained glass windows to finally finish the church for the park’s funeral.

I’ve worked in a haunt as a scare actor and it’s hell. Asking someone to do it for free is insane

It's so witch of the village codded thing to come to you knowing which you are and say "you have a lovely voice, you should do audio books"🧙‍♀️ and LEAVE like she put a curse on you🤣 old crone core

Also, I want to note that Brandon Sanderson hosts a convention called Dragonsteel every year at Salt Palace. I feel like he could host the con at the shopping/dining/castle area.

the bob reveal was absolutely priceless omg bob if you’re out there please tell all. what do you know robert

I choose to believe Judge Adkinson from the ebooks is somehow related to Judge Adkins from Troll by Emma Clark.

This has become a horrifying expose. the park should be closed immediately. Sounds like a breeding ground for predators to run free with their fantasies, like westworld

So I found something interesting but not really surprising I guess- the ticket buy page for The Convergance is still up, and has numbers for 'tickets left' in each section. Doesn't that mean those numbers are 100% fake? The page I'm looking at tells me there's still tickets available for an event in the past, with the dates right there, and takes me to a payment information screen if I go further. I'm unsure if it actually lets you pay them for an event in the past because I don't really want to give them my card info to find out, but... At least take the site down? Or redirect it? It's on its own URL so it's still being paid for by someone, or they paid for the URL for way too long a time period EDIT: I have a link but I don't really want to post a direct link to a page where you can give Evermore your card info.

Nat L.

The best part about the horribly confusing Lore video is learning that the southern cowgirl whose entire family was eaten by werewolves seems to be still there. I’m happy to know that for some reason.

If I had to pick one other place with some kind of vague equivalency in execution, if not in concept, to Evermore, it would be This Is The Place Heritage Park up in Salt Lake City. I low key kind of recommend it next time you're in Utah. It has a similar vibe to what Evermore has ultimately become, albeit they've reached this place honestly and have never tried to be more than what they are. It even has some light LARPing elements, with actors who will occasionally give performances in the town and a Schoolhouse with unique lessons given every day. It's a small recreation of a pioneer village from the early days of Utah's settlement. It's mostly geared towards kids and is overall meant to be an educational experience, but it has other cool stuff and lots of Utah themed merch in the gift shop. I'd say if you go with LARPing in mind, most of the employees would probably play along. The only real negative is the food. There is a good donut shop and a creamery, but their one sit-down restaurant the last time we went only had snacks and drinks, no kitchen prepared food, so I'm not sure what's going on there. It does have two trains, one actual train on rails, and another that's just a big truck done up to look like a train that does tours, but it DOES have a caboose you can sit in!

i love seeing evermore updates from jenny, i feel like if people are tired of hearing about it they should just watch her other stuff…nbd

Random question have you ever heard of/been to Galaxyland?

Super forgot to comment here, but thank you for this video: I watched/listened this the day after it came out as I was decorating my brother’s house for their baby that was born that evening!! This was perfect to listen to as I untangled the streamers that immediately got tangled after I took them out of the package. So again, thanks for the great content like this that’s perfect to listen to while doing things!!

Jake G

I think you're totally correct, and I can also say as a person directly involved in organizing LARP events that I would not touch Evermore Park with a 20-foot pole as a venue. They seem like the most unreliable business partner imaginable.

Tori Rittenger

I’m too adhd for the actors slow delivery and too autistic for their fake British accents.

This Ghost headband is so derpy and adorable, I love it ! Where is it from ?

that ghost story being told at evermore about the skulls reminds me a bit of the russian fairy tale Vasilisa the Beautiful - the skulls on fenceposts, the gate being locked, asking the boy to do a task for her... a lot of differences but it does remind me of it

jamezilla

Are you going to do another video now that Evermore HAS completely shutdown?

Tomboy

This manager saying "evermore was simply paid a flat fee upfront to be used as a venue for this quincy thing" does not AT ALL square with how the event played out and was advertised. (In my experience as an immersive actor) places that are booked solely as venues are not then made to advertise for said event, why would they waste money and effort doing that, when they've already gotten their payday and allegedly are seeing none of the ticket sales. If this was a quincy and co organized event, why would they go about adding all this extra non-quincy stuff to draw people in? From all the details you provided about how it was organized, from the catering to the DND sessions to the park admission to the fact the event had a stupid evermore-esque name like ~The Convergence~, it seems obvious that this was an event in collaboration with quincy's team to try to bring people to the park. Claiming they were merely a venue used to house the event is like seeing a celebrity will be at your local comic con, and assuming that celebrity is the one putting on the con and handling the billions of logistics around it. I'd maaaaybe doubt that claim less if it seemed like Quincy was trying to headline and organize some kind of major recurring event, akin to when fan communities get so big the fans themselves end up organizing the largest fandom events a la bronycon, but this was obviously a one time deal. Evermore acting as if the small management team of some guy who's kinda big in a highly specific tiktok niche did alllllll the event planning minutia and got alllllll of those sweet sweet vip ticket dollars is simply laughable.

kalyn avery

As someone from Utah who moved away before I even learned about evermore, it’s just so odd to follow this story knowing i coexisted alongside it. I also find it funny evermore was basing their survival on competing with places like fear factory for the Halloween crowds. That place is housed in an old factory parked right off i-15 with huge creepy statues and giant projections on the side of the building during the fall. It terrified me every time we drove by it when I was little, and I didn’t even know evermore existed until Jenny.

RiaJaize

I was so excited when you brought up MagiQuest. It's been a beloved part of our family for most of our kids' lives. We mostly do the Great Wolf Lodge version, which is fun, but our introduction to MQ was that very Tennessee venue. It was such a blast of nostalgia to see the interior again. I own rune necklaces and we all have wands and plushies. :) If MQ took over Evermore, it would be so much fun.

Maddie Moreland

I know this vid/post is a few months old but I would genuinely love your take on FNAF, whether it’s the movie or the game series or whatever. I have still yet to see the movie myself but I know the whole franchise is such a huge thing for the “kids these days” that I’d love to see it get the Jenny Nicholson treatment, even if it’s just a short 20-min or so movie talk.

Zoë Collis

I am IN these comments searching for the Bob reveal show yourself Bob

Harrison

I used to work at a independent zoo that was more on the theme park side than the conservation/research side of animal attractions. Every summer would end in a "We're Rich!" period, followed by overspending on a halloween attraction in the fall, followed by a "We're probably closing :(" period through the winter until school field trip season started in the spring. Great business model 10/10!

Jakob Welch

Marine World, the Six Flags that you mentioned, is in my hometown! I can tell you that no matter how bad you remember it as a kid, it is 10x worse now! I went in January 2022 and for one of the animal shows it was just a cat. Like a house cat. It didn’t even do any tricks or anything. We just sat and watched a cat walk around for ten minutes and get some treats.

ItsNate98

It was so funny seeing Jenny talk about how people defending Evermore always say certain things and blame the problems on the last managers, and then when someone from the park is asked about her video she says the *exact same things.*

Jennifer Howard

While watching this video, i wanted to visit evermore but it's closed now. However! That's not the sad part. The sad part is how the employees found out.

Stephanie Blue

Your hypothesis on Bretschneider's thinking in "the bluff" is basically how all tech startups operate. You get more and more funding based on slide decks (concept art) and tech demos to hire people to build a minimum viable product that you release and then get more and more funding to grow it. They got to the Minimum Viable Product phase it sounds like and never really got the funding he expected after releasing it.

TheITGuy

The part of having no one walk them to their cars is insane. Even just being a bouncer for a period of time, it was never spoken or told to us, it was just known that you always walk the female bartenders to their cars and make sure they leave safely. It's insane that with incidents happening often no one thought to do this.

Colton Ames

Jenny I went to magi quest as a young boy at great wolf. It blew my mind and I loved it. I moved to Minnesota and It used to be in the mall of America. I was very sad to find out that it had closed by the time I moved there. Happy to see someone else talking about it.

KP Lim

He was cancelled by his suppliers for not paying his bills

Lucia Pacciola

Hi Editing Jenny! The incoherent ghost story is a mangling of a traditional Russian fairy tale about Baba Yaga. A lot of the beats are traditional beats for this story. The threat to replace one of her old, stale skulls with a fresh one. The promise of freedom if the visitor does an impossible task, etc. Imagine someone who's only ever heard *of* Hansel and Gretel, trying to tell you the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale. You'd recognize it, even if it were horribly mangled in the telling.

Danny Dearest

obsessed with Bob. Hi bob if you see this

Konner Dent

Sounds like a good concept for a different kind of park. I would become a season pass holder for Cat Treat Park!

Scrum Diddely Umptious

Its so weird, its like the creator secretly wants it to die? Theres a cute little illuminated forest walk in a park "near" me called Foresta Lumina because people here are kinda obsessed with projection art I guess, idk. Anyways they are a relatively small budget art project but started with their initial funding going into things like renovating the park's walkways, and lighting it in a way thats safe at night, with mostly simple effects which were not spectacular but certainly effective and novel. I dont get out that much but have been willing to drive several hours twice now to go see it, when it first opened and again recently- its a fun thing to do and its a fun city project that they keep working on and adding bigger effects. Its fairy themed and its twinkly lights in a forest, its small scale and cheesy, but still, thats great to look at! I really don't think anything explains evermores financials other than a big ego getting in the way of something inherently very desirable as a day trip with the kids. Kids need things to do in the summer, I know a family that went to the zoo every weekend last month. At the right price and the right offerings families could be a steady source of income, it's so nuts to me they make no money in the summer... the only operating season for this random small forest art installation. I mean I guess it doesnt hurt that the town is centered around a major ice-cream factory which is both whimsical and summer appropriate but still , its in the middle of nowhere with not much else around and by design takes place only at night, but both times I went it the bookings were pretty full for the entire summer and into fall, and it was full of kids having a great time. Oh and guess what they have a gift shop full of generic fairy wings, glowsticks, and light up wands and guess what all the kids have...

ddddan

When I got to the convoluted ghost story a thunderstorm rolled in and it made everything 10x funnier. I hope that woman figures out what to do with all of her skulls.

Jonny

I knowwww that would be amazing!!!! He is definitely the dreamer that is needed to make it amazing, and he seems like a guy who prioritizes the people working and the community. He’s from around that place, it’s like the perfect thing to do

Lupa Wick

1:42:50 Evermore disguise outfit reveal now? Now that they're closed?

Jenny Nicholson

OH ok so when I was considering going at Halloween I figured a lot of people go in costumes that are just their Halloween costumes and have nothing to do with Evermore. So my idea was to dress as Velma. Easy closet cosplay, the wig with chunky bangs, the big glasses. It's a costume that covers a lot of your face without looking like you're trying to hide your face! Hide in plain sight.

Roxanne T

Their spooky Halloween sounds as bad as the one at my local theme park Worlds of Fun. BUT no one but babies goes to the haunt at World of Fun. In Kansas City we have an entire haunted house district. People have bought up old factories and built multistory experiences. They are all like 30-60 minutes long and the two most popular ones sell a discounted joint ticket. Plus they have scare actors entertaining you in line and in the lobby, and sometimes even evangelical Christian’s protesting which is its own form of scare actor. Highly recommend if anyone is ever in KC around Halloween.

JoelSyverud

I think this is a concept in Japan. Unsure about the treats, but cats, it’s definitely a business in japan 🐈

Evan

Oh shit I have family in Omaha so I made the trip to Worlds of Fun a number of times as a kid. Can't speak to their Halloween experience but riding the Patriot for the first time was a formative experience for me so I'll always have a lot of affection for that place

Joanne Renaud

I know you're done with Evermore, but now that Evermore is super extra double closed, I was wondering if you would consider doing a final Ramble, for last thoughts about Evermore? Now that it is closed... forever more...

Ash Green

I’ve lost some respect for Bob

Roxanne T

I adore Worlds of Fun. It was always such a special treat to go as a kid. Anytime I’m in the area and see the water tower or the hot air balloon in the distants I get all fuzzy and nostalgic. Almost died at Oceans of Fun once. Lots of good memories.

JoyOfResistance

I've organised (and played) larp for over 14 years and the Evermore saga seems so similar to all the problems I encountered there (sexual abuse, shady money constructions, power imbalances between players, lack of diversity). In the end - it made me quit, because nobody seemed willing to sacrifice their fantasy for real life safety.

JoyOfResistance

Also, I don't know if you've heard of the Dutch immersive theme park "Land van Ooit" (land of ever) in the 90s? It's in ruins now, though you can still walk through it (it's close to the Efteling). But I find it remarkable how many things overlap with Evermore. Land van Ooit was a little less interactive and mainly aimed at kids, but I loved it back then, because it had such weird characters and locations. The story didn't change, but there was all this general lore and backstory you could uncover and there was a rank as Knight you could earn (which as a girl I found extremely cool 😄)

Alexis Turner

As someone who attended the opening weekend of the very first Magiquest - I screamed when it was mentioned. I spent half of the Star Wars hotel video thinking that experience would've been improved by Magiquest type technology. The one I attended had some animatronics !

Jonathan Phillips

I've been hankering for some Scandinavian Sour Swimmers from Trader Joe's and to see the just as superior Bats & Cats in the corner is such a tease.

Ash Green

Jenny I joined the Patreon FOR the extra Evermore content😂

With Quiet Eyes

This is nothing to do with anything, I just need to make shrieking noises about you going to Europapark. It's like the One Good Theme Park that we could drive to as a kid, because we were always visiting family in Germany and it's roughly on the way, and I loved it there. (Plus we went once with school, that was fun)

Brittany flood

The Beldam story they tried to pass off as original is a twist on Coraline

Dominic Zumbo

I feel like “Evermore” is the “Lauren” and Jenny is the “Nicole” (re: Jenny’s Hallmark Channel Video). “Evermore” seems like the type of place that would put dry ice in a bowl and call it a “recipe”… or water in a bottle and call it a “craft”. Does that make “Bob” the “Thea”?!?!

Feiyuan

I was at the Taylor Swift Amsterdam concert last Saturday, and kept thinking about these videos while she was talking about her Evermore album 😅

Sarah

She could still do a yearly evermore video, just set in a paralel universe where evermore is still open

a.s.

your mind.....

Abigail Duerksen

I hope nobody ever confused this park with the Taylor Swift album! I bet it would be a good to set some kind of litigation in place if so.......... Lol. RIP Evermore. Your management never deserved the cool people who tried hard to make your park work.

arnivold

Wow! Your section on MagiQuest brought back a lot of pleasant childhood memories of playing at the Myrtle Beach location before it closed. I remember begging my mom to buy me all the cool accessories for my wand. It was a really neat sort of introduction to LARP for children and I'm glad it's still around at the Great Wolf Lodge

KBD

Five Nights sounds like a fun topic! I know absolutely nothing about the intense fandom of it and I just know you would be able to explain it perfectly a la MLP

Emi Ruth

interesting ken bretschneider adjacent update: Digicert (ken’s cyber company) just had a massive fuck up having to do w the security certificates it provides to customers. probably going to get sued from a bunch of different directions as it’s causing a bunch of their customers (BIG companies) some serious issues.

retronymph

The tangent of Kanye at Disneyland is something that I think more people should know about.

Charlotte

I think the Evermore environment itself is rather beautiful and parts of it are downright classy, in spite of its unfinished state. So much better than an artificial indoor foam construction like many other themed environments. I hope someone does something with its remains. It's such a shame to leave all that to rot.

srslyneveragain

So, I know I'm super late (returning patron lol), but: A couple of people in the comments have pointed this out, but the theory that Ken was just bluffing his way into more investor money makes so much sense. One of the comments mentioned that this is how things work for tech, I do want to add on that it is not JUST for the tech industry. That the park (unfinished as it was) was just the Minimum Viable Product - the MVP. This is a very common thing to have for any brand looking to get investors on board. So all those locked up buildings and vacant construction sites, really just served a single purpose: to be part of Ken's pitch. To be his MVP, his prototype, something tangible that the investors could look at and go "Oh, this could work. I'm gonna put money into this and eventually get a return." Well, we know now that this didn't work, but still, it boggles the mind. If you're making a prototype of something to show investors, one of the rules you have to follow is that it needs to be as cheap as possible for a working prototype. So why waste so much money with purchasing the land and building on it, when he could have just made a small, scaled model of his idea for the park on a piece of styrofoam? It is shocking that Ken did all this for what was, essentially, just a prototype. The world's most expensive MVP. Yikes.

Irashu

I know right. I am actually watching the YT channel about the "new" park right now. And their new ideas for the park also their community quest. I have no idea what even is going on. But I am oddly intrigued lol.

Irashu

Sadly can relate to this and then I only larped mostly VtM and other similar games but yes I feel that.

Irashu

There is so much weirdness around this park, so many bad business decisions, so much stupidity. It's odd it even opened tbh. It also seems that Sleep no more will end in September this year. A bad year for "interactive" theatre not that evermore was that in the end.

Marcus Underwood

I agree. There are some truly beautiful areas, especially at night... That stacked stone arch way is magnificent by itself.

Talia M

Thank you for the content warnings

Brian Weidemann

I love how Americans’ idea of “fantastical” and magical in movies, TV, theme parks, etc. is almost always just “have them perform vague non-region specific British accents” 😂

blooblis

I'm sure this point has been made, but I'm waffling between baffled why Evermore doesn't run more like a Renaissance Faire, which would probably be more successful (or at least, there are currently several successful ones around the U.S.), and confused as to how Evermore is different from a Renaissance Faire (they're trying to market/present it as more than it is?)

Callie C

Very late to this video- but the two Evermore employees featured in that chat made me audibly yell! Particularly that woman saying she MET YOU and how lovely you were! The smirking egos that took root in that place, my lord. I can only hope they’re embarrassed by how they conducted themselves on public platforms and will make smarter decisions in the future!

Challah Back Girl

I feel like everyone who reads this is probably already aware….but another rich person bought the failed park, launched a scavenger hunt to discover/choose a name for the new park, and ultimately landed on Realm Town. Honestly, it sounds like it’s gonna be just as bad as the original park.

Challah Back Girl

the "certain number" thing basically confirms my theory about why he opened it in Utah, aside from cheap land: that Mormon Christofascist police state government will protect rapists at all costs as long as they are white men and no, calling the police there would not have helped at all. Evermore's abuses are a symptom

Lizzie

Wow, that interview is shocking. “You’re just a pussy, welcome to the real world” especially is just a classic abusive boss response to people complaining about mistreatment. As you said, clear lack of media training!

this would’ve been so perfect because then the ceo could’ve come out and said “and I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids”

Caela Reed

Just realized on rewatch the new doll story wasn't even an original plot. It's just a clumsy, massacred retelling of Vasilisa the Fair. I guess calling the witch the Beldam instead of Baba Yaga made it sound less shamelessly plagiarized.

Hedge

Right?!? I clocked that too, along with Beldam being mainly from Coraline.

Alex Bloody James

"Only 3% of revenue comes from returning guests". This blew my mind. It means Evermore always needed to be an national/international destination to work. But then why have a season-long plot that requires you to visit regularly to keep up with the story? They just needed 3 themed groundhog day-style stories per year (cycling through the themes of fantasy, Halloween and Christmas). Give the creative directors a set budget and total creative control. Now every time it's open, it's a true event. You can charge wayyy more and people have a reason to fly out 2 - 3x per year to see what magic they've spun this time. Gosh. This all just goes to show that a "vision" ≠ a sound business model. I consult with startups for a living and the pure ego & delusion of Ken is all too common.

Aaron Stear

Jenny's Evermore content feeds my bottomless appetite for Jenny's Evermore content. I can't get enough, it's such a gut buster every time!

That guy telling that skull switching story sounds like he’s sharing the very first story he’s ever written in his life, and just happens to have the misfortune of (either by choice or cruel design of fate) presenting that story to the public. My favourite thing about all of these Evermore videos is how much the employees and actors seem to not want anything to do with the guests who try to speak with them. It feels like guests were rudely intruding on the actors' private larp sessions

new patron going through jennys evermore stuff right now, just wanted to add to this that I think that one of the fatal flaws of this project was not understanding what is essential in a theme park MVP. like, functional and safe infrastructure, food and drinks, safety for staff that takes into account the unique hazards of their role, A Backstage, good security and guest relations, a dedicated marketing team... some stuff you can get away with starting without in tech, some stuff that just doesn't apply to tech projects. it's like no one in upper management knew or was willing to learn ANYTHING about the field they were going into. distilled hubris. acting too big to fail from day one. that serial entrepreneur realness

Tuber

new patron who signed up in large part specifically for evermore, hello from the future everyone! on my second watch of this video, and the image I'm stuck with in my mind is of ken delivering canned lines to new management about the park like it's a dirty kitten left in a wet cardboard box, and how the previous managers mistreated it, how it's a beautiful thing under all that muck, and YOU are the one who's going to save it. and then the new hire reaches out to hold the sad kitten and take it for a bath and then falls through a big trapdoor. into hell. and the trapdoor has 'THE PROBLEMS BAKED INTO THE LOAF' written on it. ken starts laughing evilly, another hopeful fallen prey to his dastardly trap, his true passion project; cause as much pain and suffering to nerds as it is possible to inflict through a theme park.

Nicky

genuinely why are all the evermore actors like fundamentally bad at improv. why do they always say no. did ken bretschneider never tell them to "yes, and". like the guy who said he's never heard of guilds. why not say "woah! That sounds interesting! You should talk to xyz, she's more of a social butterfly than me!"

Celozon

I occasionally will go back and rewatch these videos and up until this most recent watch I had no idea who Brandon Sanderson was or what he writes, I have (unrelated) started reading the Mistborn series since then though. From what I understand the castle/bookshop wouldn't be themed to any one series, but even if he had wanted to use Evermore as like a walkthrough location, I'm guessing the rest of his series are similar to Mistborn in that the vibes would decidedly not be whimsical or cute. In the case of Mistborn, more like, dilapidated buildings and a barren landscape. But hey it would have been easy to convert Evermore to that.

A Graham Reynolds

This is an extremely old video, nobody is talking about this anymore. but I'm just now catching up on the evermore lore. I have to say, I could be completely wrong, but just from what I've seen, I would bet a lot of money that some incident where a guest assaulted an employee happened every single day that the park was open, for its whole life. I just really think not a day went by without something happening, even with how few people must have come most days and their extremely limited hours. They really did not do a damn thing to prevent any of it, all but openly encouraged their guests to assault their employees. I'm so glad that park is finally permadead.

a little crow

the art behind the "tales of evermore" audio drama text is so obviously AI, this is sooooooooooo embarrassing and cringe when one of the only things that ever made the park look appealing was the lovely concept art

Benny N

There's a MagiQuest fan channel that interviews people who worked on it, and you might get a kick out of this actor's name:

Kevin Morris

Genuinely laughed out loud, thank you.

Knitter? I hardly know her!

I do appreciate a gauntlet being thrown because I do want to see what Jenny would do with a theme park

Luna

Continuing to reply to old comments, but yea the idea that you can "plagiarize" a centuries-old folk tale seems pretty silly to me.

kelly m

a few of them seemed good at improv (like the pirate and the mermaid from the main channel vid) but there's definitely a lack of consistency. however that might also be poor direction from the part of management or bad writing

kelly m

it gave me cringe chills 😭

a.s.

for REAL, i know jenny doesn't do meetups which is so valid /and/ evermore has whatever weird situation going on now, but i had the best daydream of her renting out the park for her own convergence and making it a true jennyland experience..... just imagine ex-evermore actors getting a curtain call, roving vendors selling roasted nuts, proper catering, a well-considered storyline with a quest element that actually works, guests dressing as the characters from beastly and the vampire diaries.... the list goes on but there are dreams that cannot be

a.s.

lmaoooo they're already halfway there with the chapel disintegrating from being raw plywood exposed to the elements & the other buildings not up to code

a.s.

why is this also the same way most of them handle the improv, like they all just stumbled into these situations. honestly props to whatever curse ken used to turn competent actors into npcs that give you flashbacks to the worst undergraduate improv performance youve ever seen lol

a.s.

im on rewatch one million and realized what the bob & new vp chat felt like to me: a portlandia sketch if it was about salt lake city instead of portland

a.s.

it's all checking out, ken as a sort of inverse scooby doo villain where the human face is a rubber mask concealing his true form

abby

evermore definitely had a problem with sexist pay. my mom was the costumer director, and was paid A LOT less than the male directors in the creature shop. she had decades more of experience than all the other men in the same working space, but was never paid as such. or even respected as a well seasoned costumer. she was treated like some silly grandma who just sews, instead of an artist trying to tell a story. she was also surprise fired. we gave up on ever trying to get the money ken owes us. ken was also proud of the fact he poached my mom from her other job. it’s really healing to see strangers out of state see the harm ken did.

Eric MacMillan

Doing a complete Evermore Saga rewatch and I just noticed for the first time that the "skull witch" story guy from this video and the "I'm not sure if you are aware but you are now becoming a bear!" guy from the Return to Evermore are the same dude, just based on their voice. I'm like 90% sure.

Coaster Conquerer

I agree, no business that allows guests to harm their employees without real repurcushions or effort to truly mitigate the issue should be open

Neil Dutton

"He's still my father!!" We don't have time for that right now Jeff.

AV

why is it hell?

Challah Back Girl

“How does it keep getting worse?” “People have ptsd from working at this park.”

Nick Campos

(Re)watching these Evermore/Staircruiser videos really helps me recover while I’m sick. It’s like they have medicinal properties baked into them.

Jenna Stoddard

Haha I love I'm not the only one rewatching these right now!

kelly m

this is so real. it's so cozy

A. Ortiz

I think at that point they’d burned through all their good improv actors

Frankie Gallagher

I'd like to say that somebody who recently took up crochet, I am tickled pink by your username, Knitter? I hardly know her! Edited because I capitalized the "I Hardly Know Her" for some reason lol

Frankie Gallagher

Dude straight up if Meow Wolf is involved?? I'd for sure go! Use it as an excuse to visit my cousin who moved to Salt Lake City for work or something

A. Ortiz

Hearing that they were getting writing fatigue after only a few years is so crazy. Ive been going to a fantasy ball who’s lore has been going on for 20+ years and they’ve yet to lose steam.

a.s.

in iowa he's your father.... in evermore he could be just another cast spell

a.s.

did ken just never pay anyone to write for the park? it would make sense to me that they'd get so fatigued if all the stories were thought up by actors or park employees in other creative roles for like the whole time the park was open. even generously assuming any of them actually got time to sit down together and think of a story (not even going to be generous and assume it was paid yikes), they were not equipped with any of the tools to avoid writing fatigue which is sad if true bc it would mean their employer once again convinced them it was a cool opportunity to contribute their ideas to the story and let them burn themselves out

a.s.

''is she like. a spider knight?'' ''i am the spider princess'' ''okay 🤨'' this scene operates on dream logic i love it <3

A. Ortiz

If I’m remembering correctly Jenny mentioned they talked plot for each new season about two weeks before it opened to the public which if true is barely enough to come up with something solid + give actors material to work with and memorize. I feel like its just a detail that Kent would never consider paying someone for and would get bored with himself when it became obvious that the park was no longer successful in his eyes.

Amelia Berrelia

Oh my gosh, I hope Bob has seen the Hallmark video and read this comment because wow 😂

Qui-Gon Slut

watching this for the millionth time and it's still crazy to me that Bob is here. is he still here? I hope so. that's so funny. that shocked me so much when I first watched this. it's just. it's just absurd.

Qui-Gon Slut

still here and watching this, and I absolutely agree. I think it's highly possible that it was every day, if not nearly every day. there was ZERO real precautions taken. especially if they're not banning people on their first offense??!??? they're basically allowing it at that point.

Qui-Gon Slut

English accents just sound inherently whimsical to an American audience, for some reason

Kelsey Johnson

Take a shot everytime they say skull 😂

faeriedusk

Just a future traveller who’s scrolled veeery far in comments, hope you’re doing well Bob!! Thank you for all the Evermore reporting you’ve done :)

Jason Knight

Your sympathy for leaving Bob on the screen had me rolling XD

Rowan Kal

I do think that is Kanye, even though I agree he looks weird. apparently theres a rumor he came to check out the technology of The Grid for his house (lol), which I think is way more likely and he didnt step foot in Evermore

Rowan Kal

omfg I cant believe you brought up MagiQuest!!! it was my ex's favorite place as a kid and they took me to some and had the wands and all this gear. apparently it has gone downhill in the last decade, but its still pretty cool!! ofc I have also only been to a Wolf Lodge version, which is way simpler. every time I listen to the Evermore video I think, this place should just work like MagiQuest, it would make soooo much more sense.

Axel HV

My personal theory is that the Ken fella, cuz he's comin from tech, have absolutely no idea what infrastructure cost in real life. An MVP in tech is very cheap and easy to make because it is essentially a prototype of a software and you don't need a lot of resources to do that. But a MVP of a physical theme park, that's a completely different beast. Also the hubris of not hiring people who where specialized in theme park building.

Axel HV

With all due respect, the way your awesome Mom was mistreated, that sounds so Utah 🙄

Axel HV

🤞🤞🤞

Axel HV

That man has strong opinions on Jenny, not positive. Watch the interview Bob did with him in his chanel.

Lin Nossek

Holy shit I should have become a patron WAYYY sooner. That interview was the biggest trainwreck I’ve seen since Megalopolis

VorpalThumb

I've never heard of it and now I really really need to find one because this seems amazing and 100% up my alley. It really does sound like what Evermore should have been.

VorpalThumb

My quest to watch all your Evermore content continues, and wow, things just get weirder with each installment. I can't say for certain if you're right about the campfire illusion and the portal, but the reasoning seems sound. And it's a shame, because I'm a sucker for optical illusions like the Pepper's Ghost. Oh no, Tip-Top! What a grotesque fate.

meowlord

as an av/lighting tech all the fiber optic cable he allegedly buried under the corpse of evermore is calling to me like cursed pirate treasure. i wouldn’t dare take it but not because i fear the law, i fear it would grant me three wishes but in awful and twisted ways.

kelly m

it's so funny how they deny implementing things bc of jenny's video when they did super specific things she mentioned like adding lights to one specific path she mentioned and no other paths, putting letters with quests around the park, and doing repeating storylines

moose tracks

in the ghost story, I am almost certain he is mispronouncing Bedlam as Beldam lol

moose tracks

one thing I appreciate about you jenny is youre overly generous and kind to these bad actors

Richard Gabriel

It's likely not. Beldam is the name of a type of witch (It's what the Other Mother in Coraline was called).

Matt Hutcherson

I love the compliment of the manager of, despite not seeming media trained, she was articulate and answering questions fairly well just for her to immediately say “hold my beer” and answers the subsequent questions in like the worst ways possible

Your Mum

I know it’s 2026 and nobody is commenting on this any more. But I’ve watched this like 4 times and it annoys me every time that the rhyme in Maxwell’s song is “fight against villainy” and not “fight against tyranny” it would work better in multiple ways. There, I’ve got it off my chest. I can go back to comfort binging the rest of Jenny’s Patreon now.

The King of Tiny Accidents

I’m getting a very disturbing impression that “media training” here means “wow they’re so much better at hiding the abuses and or crimes the company was committing anyway. And that’s framed as a good thing!” I’d prefer bad PR that exposes how abusive a company is. I’m not on the company’s side.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Why would it be better if evermore was better at hiding its abuses from the public. Why is that viewed as more professional therefore better, when it just allows abuse to continue unchecked and buried? I’m dying

The King of Tiny Accidents

Whenever people bring these sorts of statistics up, I feel like they don’t know a lot about Mormonism. Because this is not *remotely* surprising if you know Evermore was built in the college town of an American Christian-offshoot death cult. The culture of like… violent sexual repression, devaluing of consent, patriarchal religious supremacy, total refusal to acknowledge that the park’s failings are the results of its’ operators & makers’ actions, casual over-saturation of abuse, horrible mix of god complexes and enforced total obedience, really messed up severity of toxic positivity and censoring all outside information … that people were being THIS constantly harassed, assaulted, and abused for their labor, emotions, and bodies, unfortunately isn’t surprising with Mormonism. It’s obviously not like, the only reason, and these problems are non exclusive to this specific high demand control group, but… yeah… if you wanna know about why all that is like.. yeah ofc, exmo (ex mormon) content has a lot of information for you. Zelph on the Shelf, ExmoLex, and the Mormon Stories podcast are good places to start.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Unfortunately when the manager who’s describing her very “suck it up loser” attitude to others being assaulted, describing that she cares about it extra much because *she’s* been assaulted, I kinda just think about jkkkr talking about how everyone needs to trust her about SA because she’s survived it, when her work is full of SA and normalizing abuse, when she herself has sexually harassed and assaulted trans women. Like. I don’t trust that woman in the video to care about other workers especially workers who she’s supposed to be responsible for the safety of, just because she’s endured the same sort of harm as them. It’s good that she’s sharing this. But I don’t think she… idk… cares like she’s saying, because that care is really inconsistent with the seriousness of the issue.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Unfortunately this level of SA statistics doesn’t surprise me at all for Provo Utah. Mormon leadership have shit in their doctrine that allows for reporting csam and csa outside of the church to be optional and up to individual discretion. The cult was started by a serial polygamist who took brides as young as 14. It is not surprising that this is here, and it is not surprising that they think multiple strikes are a reasonable way to handle someone who sexually harasses and assaults people in their park.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Culturally them acknowledging it is both very victim blaming, and it has this thing of like, if they know the culture… they know nothing is gonna be done and nobody’s gonna take it seriously or condemn them particularly. People refuse to hold the park accountable for nonviolent mediocrity, the concept of holding people accountable for abuse and SA in UTAH is like… individually I’m sure there are groups of random ordinary people doing their best to protect their communities from abuse in ways that will actually stop it rather than exacerbating it, but man.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Why does a part of me want this woman I don’t know to lie about knowing Jenny 💀

The King of Tiny Accidents

“I wasn’t scamming people because the scam didn’t work out for me!” is an argument I have seen a stunning amount of people try

The King of Tiny Accidents

“How dare you stand where the guy who groomed us into devoting our entire lives to serving his interests as like generations of teenage boys, stood?! I loved that abusive freak and it’s super normal how he treated every misguided young man who crossed his path! It’s so normal that he dogfights us for fun!” still hits so weird to me I love the ghost of the shadow of death in America wandering around evermore screaming for his family’s killers to come forward

The King of Tiny Accidents

Bernoulli Fibonacci (real name Greg Normalsby) looks like that guy from castlevania s1 who’s trying to find the library between dimensions

Jeej Jaaj

i skipped all the clips of actors acting in the park lol. it was unbearable.

Zachary C

I know I’m literally 3 years late to seeing this but that’s super interesting lol. I definitely respect the effort that went in even if it all went sideways

Leon Kiljoy

I feel as if unfortunately the official tagline of Evermore would, at this point (yes I’m aware it’s long closed and I’m late) “Evermore: It Costs Extra”

Ryan Tyndall

One place I worked tried asking people to do "volunteer" hours being on-call on weekends. I guess not many showed up cause they eventually started talking about "mandatory volunteer" hours in meetings. I never signed up and ended up quitting before I found out how serious they were about it. My most direct co-workers were all young immigrants on work visas, fresh off getting their bachelor's though (who were already working late regularly) so I imagine the company got what they wanted in the end.

tumbleweed🍂

Now we know the secret intent behind the quest given to those podcasters to dig up ancient artifacts... and by artifacts I mean unexposed wires, which are a valuable rarity at Evermore!

Starseeker Wolf

I think they meant it's shocking how brazen the staff were about it, like they didn't even understand the gravity of what they revealed

The King of Tiny Accidents

Okay yeah lol I get that it’s an audacious thing, it just confuses me when people treat the violation of covering up abuse as more scandalous than the abuse. Like, investigate why you’re jumping to that

Mac

so i’m scared, i just finished showing my partner this video for the first time over dinner and opened tiktok to learn that mere hours ago, news broke that brandon sanderson will indeed be purchasing evermore. this feels like some kind of prank or a rip in the fabric of reality

Danny Geib

JUDGE ADKINSon…… it’s the worst book ever all over again
