Not my wheelhouse, but it seems counterintuitive to me to pursue global revenue targets as a means of building regional resilience. Wouldn't it make more sense to identify critical processes that weren't available in the region and focus on developing those?

It sure looks like EC is still betting on industries that are closer to coal and steel that made it big in the first place (ECSC). It follows the law of handicap of the head start. Indeed the Nexperia c*ckup should never have happened in the first place having the (German) automobile industry relying so heavily on these chips.
