hello everyone! i'm here to give a rather... big update. i'm going to be doing a comm overhaul, involving some price changes and removing/adding of certain comm types. changes will be bolded below and there will be a tldr at the bottom for the jist of it. thank you for reading

just to preempt: these adjustments do not apply to july commissions! aka the ones that have already been confirmed and paid for LOL

anyway. for those who did not commission me this month, you may have seen a post regarding an update i sent out to commissioners. this was regarding a break i would be taking and a resulting slowing down of comm progress, due to my wrist and arm health. i can't say i'm back to 100% yet unfortunately, but the break has given me time to heal up physically, and also consider the future of my commission work.

i've talked in the past about the sort of Styles i have for comm work, versus the Style i draw for myself. i'm going to be removing some comm options, and adding in some new ones, as well as changing some prices.

REMOVED COMMISSION OPTIONS:

i am removing all headshot options, as well as the sketchy shaded style. sketchy style will only be available as flats.

ADDED COMMISSION OPTIONS:

i will be doing experimental comms as both full AND halfbodies now. which will also be called painted experimental, to differentiate it from the new option of sketchy experimental! i don't have any exact examples but it's akin to the style i would draw in for my personal art. this is sort of to "replace" the sketchy shaded style with something that aligns more with my personal tastes. here's a collage of what i have in mind for this style:

pretty excited for this one! these will be available also as halfbodies and fullbodies. however, experimental comms will remain as single characters only.

ADJUSTED FLATS:

a minor upgrade, flats will now include some Very Minimal cel shading/filter effects by default. this was changed with the price increase in mind. this can be requested off but here's an example of what i mean:

PRICING ADJUSTMENTS:

this is the bigger one. my queue each month is... kind of a lot. 20+ unique pieces each month, often with alts, and varying levels of complexity. the more i improve each month, the more time i end up spending on each piece as well. deep down i knew this was unsustainable for the long term health of my wrists, but i figured "eh i'll cross that road when i get there" and well. i just have gotten there LOL.

sadly i cannot work with the same fervor and intensity for long periods of time anymore, and with that i will have to take less work on. that said, bills and other costly requirements of living wait for no one, so i will be increasing my prices. here are the estimated new prices, adjusted for old styles and with added price points for the new offerings:

unfortunately i know this will likely push my work outside of budgets. i really do apologize. there's people who i loved to work with in the past that i haven't seen since my previous price increases, which always sucks and/but i completely understand why. i really do wish i had the time and money and physical health the keep it as is, but if i continue at this rate then i won't be drawing for Anyone anymore, including myself.

TLDR:

-removing headshots and sketchy shaded options-added sketchy experimental style, exp styles available in both full and halfbodies now-flats will now include a minimal amount of cel shade+lighting-price increases across the board

i wanted to post this now before the end of the month so that if anyone would like to bow out of here re: the new stuff then you've got your chance before the 1st of the month charge!

i do not currently have an ETA for when i'll be opening for august comms, as i am still taking things very slow due to my wrist pain. that's tba! but all of this will be available whenever that may be.

otherwise, thanks for reading and for the support! i appreciate you all greatly. thank you.

You gotta put your health first, and make money to survive. Im sure everyone who enjoys your art understands that Lex!

Important to take rests and you've definitely earned it with how hard you work with the amazing pieces you create. Health always comes first! Looking forward to sending in another comm in the future c:
