first off, happy new year to all and thanks again to everyone for supporting me. from those who have been here since the beginning to those who subbed for a week or two, to those popping in to see What Da Hell i'm talking about on twitter. every single moment of support means more than i can express. i can’t believe how fast time has passed! it feels like i just opened this thing up a few months ago. for those who are subbed, i’m sure this is far from the most active patreon you’re subbed to, so i especially appreciate it in that regard.

i guess i wanted to provide a little update, give some insight into what's going on, any plans for the future re patreon and art and so on. and i guess this'll provide some context for the random/surprise FCFS comms i'm doing this month. i'm not sure if anyone cares this much and i may very well be blowing this out of proportion BUT... here i am anyways lole

so, as far as what i have planned for 2024...

i... think am getting a bit burnt out. i’m not sure if i need a full on break, or just to take on less work, try something different, or personal rl issues outside of art are affecting how i’m feeling, or a combination of all of that. but something’s up, and i’m sure those whom have commissioned me have noticed. i feel like my communication has been lagging, i've been forgetting about emails, i'm delivering finished work later and later...  i feel like i need to address it before it gets worse, and especially before it could start affecting the quality of my actual artwork- there’s days i’ve had to take a step back because what i'm drawing isn't up to my standards at that moment, and i don’t want to deliver anything subpar just to "have it done". but lately i’ve been feeling that Off-ness a bit more than i want. and well, i can’t take off for a got damn week in the middle of the month when i’ve established an end of month deadline already

so to start 2024 off, this month, i've decided to take on maybe 50-75% of the work i usually do. january is a relatively slow month for me financial obligations wise, so i’m going to try and force myself to commit to this. i have some owed work: some slightly overdue and others much more overdue that i really need to take care of, as well. i'm looking to sort of restructure the way i've been working, and think of a better way to attack work without getting burnt, or neglecting the other aspects of a Business (tm) outside of artwork itself. hopefully i can gain some clarity with this bit of reprieve, and start with a squeaky clean slate for february

aaand that comes with what’s next… i would really like to do some personal work again, but it is admittedly quite hard when i’m doing 20+ full color pieces every single month, heh. i’d like to tidy up my commission offerings, my neglected social medias, try and queue up posts here and on twitter or even bluesky, just things i’ve been telling myself i have to do and i’ll get to it soon and then- before you know it, a whole year has passed. depending how this and future months go, honestly, i may consider keeping commission work patron only. i am considering refreshing the $25 tier here as well, giving it a fresh coat of paint and maybe adding more slots in. but i’m also considering removing it entirely. i don’t know. for now, i think i just need to focus on what i can do in January.

if you made it this far, thanks for reading and once again, for pledging here to begin with. you rock a ton

Take whatever time you need, burnout is no joke! Hope you can relax a bit in 2024

Do what you gotta do for your own health! You've put in a ton of hard work for me and a ton of other people, and it's alright to admit you need to take it easier

please take all the time you need to find your feet again!! I hope things get better and you find a more sustainable balance for yourself between personal work and comms (even if it's adjusting prices or focusing on smaller stuff). your personal work is always so dang good and we'll always be happy if you do more 2023's just been such an awful year for so many people, so please be kind to yourself if you can (I'm working on it myself). thanks again for the comm you did of jory (over a year ago!!), it still means the world to me, wishing you well!

Take the time you need to figure out what will work for you. 2023 seems to have done a number on all of us in one way or another, and for what it's worth i've loved everything you've produced for me in this past year!

Taking care of yourself should be priority, first and foremost! Whatever you decide to do with your work in the future, I know I'll still be here to support in any way I can ; u ;

Don't feel bad for doing what you gotta do. I don't think anyone wants to see you pushing yourself and burning out. Sending you good vibes from Aus
