Upcoming Changes | 2025 Roadmap (Patreon)
Content
Hey all!
I mentioned this briefly in my November devlog and wanted to give it its own post to avoid getting lost and to address any questions. Unfortunately, it got delayed due to personal life stuff in November/December, which spilled into catching up on projects in January and February. My top priority has been avoiding delays with your rewards, so this post took a back seat. Well, we're finally here!
I’ll keep it brief and break things down by category so you can jump to what matters most to you.
Patreon and iOS
As you may have heard elsewhere, Patreon is requiring creators like me to make changes to comply with new iOS/Apple terms. This means switching from first-of-the-month billing to their subscription model. Unfortunately, this isn’t going away, and Patreon is forcing everyone to switch by November. To streamline things, I’ll move us over to the new billing on July 1st, 2025.
What this means for you:
Current first-of-the-month billing will stay the same until you unsubscribe or change your subscription date.
New patrons after 7/1/2025 will be on the subscription billing model.
We’ll also adjust how rewards are handled:
Files will be released at the end of the month instead of the first.
Reward links will be sent via DM, not pinned posts, to avoid confusion for mid-month joiners.
MMF syncing will happen once a month at the start of the following month, instead of weekly.
Slight Reward Changes
We’ve been in a bit of a unique spot with the Patreon, offering both figures and miniatures for a few years now. Based on surveys, your printed creations, and store analytics, I’ve decided to stop producing models in FULL 1:9 SCALE starting with June rewards. Don’t worry—this doesn’t mean we’ll stop creating models of existing IPs (or OCs).
We’ll still vote on the main character of the month; this change only affects the scales they’re exported and supported in. Moving forward, we’ll shift from:
1:9 scale and 100mm variant → 100mm and 50mm.
The 100mm versions will still have some cuts for scaling up, but not to the extent of the full-scale models, which sometimes came in 30+ pieces. The 50mm versions will have far fewer cuts (if any), making it easier to print miniature variants to your heart’s content.
This change won’t affect the SFW/NSFW/FUTA options or the number of models—you’ll still get at least 5 models per month. As a bonus, due to the decrease in scale, we’ll be adjusting tier pricing to reflect this shift – they will be even cheaper!
Tier Changes
Due to the reward changes listed above, we will be reducing the tier prices to reflect the miniatures and hopefully pass along more savings to you guys. We are currently running $13 for the enthusiast tier, and $30 for the merchant/print shop tier. The new tiers will be as follows:
Collector: $10
Vendor: $20
Please save yourself some money in these trying times and migrate to the new tiers as soon as you are able to. These new tiers will be opened and starting on May 1st, 2025, one month prior to the new rewards so everyone can get settled in.
Tribes Opening
I know some of you were on the fence about joining a patreon and voiced a want/desire for a Tribes system instead. I am happy to announce, we will be launching the tribes on May 1st. I’ll have a full fledged link ready to go and posted come closer to time. They will have the same priced tiers and receive the same rewards. The only difference is that it is not patreon running the show, as well as the convenient automatic redemption of models into your MMF library.
Welcome Pack
As a bonus for all these changes, I’ll be adding at least 15 full-scale figures (and their 100mm variants) to the welcome package. This will help ease the transition and give you a chance to grab older models you might have missed or haven’t picked up from the stores yet. These will be added during the first week of June, and I’ll share a definitive list of the additions + the current package closer to that time.
General Q&A
Q: What about those subscribed on a year/annual billing?
A: I’ve noticed many of those who signed up on an annual billing cycle subscribed during the summer, so these changes will align well with your annual billing schedule. If you still have months left on your annual sub after the change, you’re dissatisfied and would like to discuss the remaining months on your annual plan, please DM me. We will work something out to resolve the situation.
Q: I’m currently on the old tiers, will I be automatically switched?
A: Unfortunately no, patreon does not allow me to do that. You will have to switch your tier manually to the new tiers.
Q: Will the scale changes impact the models in any way?
A: Outside of the number of cuts, there will be very few to no changes to the models. Some parts may not be as thin or flimsy as a result of the changes. Previously, we had to balance on thickness of parts for the full scale and 100mm versions to ensure they printed safely across the two. Any changes made will simply involve slightly thickening certain elements, such as fabric to withstand the printing and painting process.
Q: What benefit do you get out of it Jiggly?
A: In the spirit of being transparent; unfortunately the figures aren’t always meeting their ROI. They require a bit more planning and forethought throughout the sculpting process and finer detail work here and there. On top of this, they take longer to cut and key, and they cost more to pre-support. By making these changes, I can not only save on costs of producing the models, but potentially free up more time in my workflow to make additional models for you all on a regular basis.
If you guys have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to DM me or reach out in discord. I am more than happy to discuss it further!
Thanks as always,
Jiggly
