It's not just generally religious, Isi is so specifically Catholic with her guilt. The Catholic "Confess! You were born with sin; you deserve nothing except shame and suffering" vs the Jewish "There's nothing wrong with you, so there's really no excuse that you never call your mother. But apparently you don't think she deserves even that. Ech! How monstrous I must be to not get a call from my wonderful children. But I hope you're happy."
