PLEASE READ FIRST (If you don't mind)

Probably the most difficult story I was ever foolish enough to consider telling. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I believe what I did wrong was making us appear a little too close to how we really looked.

This is written in a storybook style. It’s a collection of memories from journals I kept and vivid recollections I remember well. I’ve included dates on pages I knew very well. I only shared what I remember strongly, so there will be gaps in the story. Honestly, I couldn’t tell it all because it would be a thousand pages long.

The speech bubbles for conversations are accurate. They might seem choppy at times, but that’s because I only recorded what I could at the moment. Based on experience, I know this story might ruffle some feathers. Some topics I mention tend to spark debate.

I've been considering doing this for a while. My husband kept urging me to go ahead. Now that it's finished, even as I write this, I feel worried.

It might be choppy in spots, I know there are grammar mistakes and spelling errors, but I am so tired of revising it.

With that said, please be kind. And if you have someone you love, kiss them, tell them you love them. Let them know their worth.

You're so brave to be sharing this with us on this platform. I felt your joys and your pain as I read this, tears running down my cheeks (which, by the way, made it very difficult to read!). My first partner and I were together for 27+ years, and I said, "I love you," to him every single day. He passed from a heart attack at home on Christmas Day 2010. My husband and I have been married 5+ years, and I make a point to let him know how much I love him every day. Thank you.

That is a long story and patreon loads really slow. Is there a chance you grace us with a download folder?

Lot of comments here but first thanks for sharing. Monogamy, Marriage and if LGBT people should have children top 3 topics that have on and off, caused divisiveness within the LGBT community. Finding out Dino, who bullied you turned out to be gay, tale as old as high school. Flying out of the car like that I think I felt that one.... Yeah, college is very potluck from what I've experienced you get some places where you fit in and others where you are better off keeping to yourself and your studies. Poor Matt cancer is such a bitch, and I guess people/teens weren't as medically informed back in the 80's as they are today. His parents were/are such a-holes. I hope you were able to at least stop by his grave once everything had settled, if he had a grave that is. Oh god myspace, never got into that flavor of social media but yeah, I remember when it was the rage back in High School.

Wish I had this as a download in one PDF so I could save my place. I don’t think I’ll be able to read the whole thing in a browser.

Thank you for sharing such a personal story. I think it should be essential reading for young people. And as always, such beautiful artwork.

Shouldn't have read this while my family was around cause I started crying properly and they started trying to grill me about it lmao. Not out to them yet. Thank you for sharing this though. It's beautiful and it hurt my soul to see such a wonderful soul taken from this world. Why does it always happen to the sweetest ones? His dad was a monster and I hate that you couldn't be with him in the end. But I'm certain that he was thinking of you with love all the way. Glad you found your husband though. You deserve love and someone to trust in. And your husband sounds wonderful. Live wonderfully, you guys.

Sorry to put you on the spot with the family, but it really warms my heart to know that some of you were driven to tears.
