Stolen land of the np̓əšqʷáw̓səxʷ (Wenatchi) people. Some of the articles I've found call them P’squosa. This article is one, and is a broad primer on Land Back movements across Washington State.
I'm not sure if the particular area I hiked to falls under the Treaty of Point Elliott 1855, or if it's under the Treaty with the Yakama Nation 1855. They overlap in this area on the Native Land app, which is the best resource I have found for mapping treaties so far. In either case, neither treaty was honored, and this particular spot of land was carved apart to create I-90, before being restored by Forterra.
